You have arrived on the distant planet, Aurion. It is very much like our Earth, except there are no humans, and it is much, much older. All the animals somewhat resemble those on Earth, but they have very noticeable differences, due to the different conditions they had to face. Keep on reading to learn how to adopt your own Aurionian!

About Chalers:

Chalers (pronounced shuh-lay/s) are to be really happy, and energetic. The flaps of skin under their forearms are used to glide from place to place, sort of like our flying squirrels! They only hunt small mammals aand insects; and when they are fully adult, they still have their cute kitten voice. They are just about the size of a domestic cat. The females do all the hunting; the males help out a little but mostly they protect the family from any sort of threat, and are consequently bigger than females.

Females have one small feather on the tips of their ears, and saber fangs for hunting. You can't usually see it, but the females also have very long, sharp claws that helps them hunt as well.

Males have a single, jagged horn growing out of their forehead, used to fend off enemies of the family. They also have feathers growing down their neck and back, which they use to attract females. The longer the feathers are, and the more the male has, the more attractive he is. When a male wants to impress a female, and win her heart, he will fan out his feathers to make them seem larger and fuller. If he really needs to impress her, he might go about stabbing things with is horn, to show his strength.

Baby Chalers have kitten-like voices, that stick with them their whole lives. The father actually looks after the children while the mother hunts, and she will come back after a hunt and nurse her babies, and perhaps clean their coats with her tongue (though careful not to hurt them with her saber fangs). Chaler babies are called Chittens (just so there's no confusion, these are actually pronounced like it's spelled!), and they progress in life about the same way a domestic cat would, as far as when they open their eyes and such. After 1 year with their family, they are fully almost fully grown and will leave their family.

CHALER RANKS/GROUPS:

Chalers live in sort of odd groups. There are 'families', in which the parents (female + male) and their offspring live, if they are raising them. They are sort of seperate from the main group, but still converse with the others and live in the same general area. The pack or clan of chalers (sort of like a wolf pack, with families and seperate chaler individuals, that are not raising chittens) is called a colony. Here's how the ranks work... but keep in mind they are all really friendly, and are not hostile about rankings. They are basically one big family tree, with branches going out to the actual parents and their children. If one is an 'omega' then they are just as happy as the 'alpha', because they belong to this particular colony. No one has hard feelings. And the alpha loves all their tribe mates.

Roi ( to my understanding in french this means 'King', since I based the word 'chaler' off of some french words, and what little french I know. ) - The alpha of the colony. He makes major decisions, like whether to relocate if there is constant threats from predators.

Reine ( means 'Queen' in french. ) - The female, second in command. She is usually the mate of the King, and lead huntress.

Scholars - The knowledgeable chalers. Both male and female. They help advise the Roi, and can also do a bit of mending/healing for wounds... But not much is done for them in the chaler colonies. Usually the female is the only one to get wound treatment, scars on males and wounds received in battles are trophies; signs of honor. It means you are willing to fight and go through pain for the good of your colony or family.

Hunters - Just what it says. These are the adult females, that hunt the meat of the tribe. Some may also find fruits/vegetables, if it is a vegetarian tribe.

Soldiers - The adult males that protect the colony. They use their horns and combat training they go through to as young chalers to fight their enemies, whether it's large predators or rival colonies.

Apprentice - I KNOW I KNOW but it's the only word I could come up with that I could use for soldiers-in-training! They are learning from other soldiers how to fight; usually older chalers that are not quite as nimble as they used to be.

Chittens - Young chalers, aka chittens. These are the offspring of families inside the colony. They are put in this rank, but really they don't have one yet... They are just supposed to listen to their elders. They will recieve a rank later, usually working their way up to the top of the hunters/soldiers. The Roi will rarely give out ranks, it's usually the Reine that does it.

Auctions

AUCTION RULES:

1. You should have the pets you bid WHEN YOU BID. If you don't, and you win, the person who bid the second highest under you gets the adopt. If this person doesn't have the points either, I keep on going until I find someone with the means to actually buy it.
2. If the pet is not up for auction, and is only an auto-bid (meaning it has a set price, like when you buy stuff in the real world), then you must send me a trade with the required pets to total the said amount. Be sure to specify which pet you want, by saying 'for #3' or something in your post. The first person to send the trade gets the pet.
3. If you want, you can use many pets to total a certain point value. I allow mix & matching
4. Don't wine about not getting a design you bid on, or say something like "I really want #4 but I don't have any pets..." I hate it. Don't do it, you'll get in trouble.
5. DO NOT use these characters as your fursonas.
6. Come on, guys. Don't steal these concepts/art. I work hard on this.
7. If you buy one of these pets, you MUST name it within 14 days.
8. If you see someone breaking the rules, PM me about it, and give a little proof. Show me the post, or if there's art theft, show me the site that's doing it, or who is doing it.
9. If you are caught breaking these rules, I will make sure you do not buy any more of these pets from me (some rules have more severe consequences than others... but several offenses add up)
10 You MAY NOT RESELL THESE. Anyone caught doing this will receive an automatic ban from my Aurion adoptables. If you no longer want them, contact me and we will work out a refund (note that you will not get ALL the points (aka pets) you paid back, that's just how it works), and then I will resell the pet on here.
11. You may add a FEW accessories to your pet, but not many. If you want more than 5 accessories, I will have to step in and tell you to take it easy. AND accessories do NOT mean wings, hair, a bunny suit... Come on, guys. Stick to collars and ear piercings (small stuff like that) please! If you are wondering about adding an accessory, feel free to PM me!

BREEDING

How Do Chalers Breed?

The female chaler, unlike most female animals, are not ready to breed all the time. Infact, they can not produce young unless it's within a breeding season. However, these may come at different times. Chaler's breeding times fluctuate a lot, though most of the time there are no litters in the bitter winters, as producing young is hard for female chalers without the proper conditions.

There will never be more than four chittens in a litter, unless there is a freak mutation... In such a case, one chitten will die. (This will never happen when we breed them, but it makes for a cool background story!) Each chaler owner will get up to 4 breedings per breeding season, though each one has to be bought. Breeding seasons will be far apart, because each Chaler parent plays an active role in the chitten's growth. The female hunts for the whole family, while the father cares for the young chittens and even teaches them some stuff. The female chittens (once they are old enough) are allowed to sit in on a few hunts, to see their mother at work.

Wait wait wait... What are the ideal conditions for a female chaler, so they can breed???

Well, as stated above, it can not be too cold. Most of the time those tough females can handle it though! Also, to make a female become fertile for one breeding season, they must eat a certain fruit... With each chaler, it's different! Though if a mother needs one food, chances are her chittens will need the same food. Not only does this food make them able to reproduce, it also tastes delicious to them, and is by far their favorite food! The male chalers must venture out into the wild and find the special food for their lady, and bring it back to her; aka, you need to buy it. Don't worry! You won't need to buy a breeding slot AND a fruit; the fruit is your breeding slot! Buy the fruit, and give it to your female to breed (with the owner's consent, of course)!

The fruit can taste sweet, sour, spicy, bitter, tangy, or a mixture of things! Each rarity of chaler requires a different rarity of fruit. For example: a rare chaler will need a rare fruit. The rarer the fruit is, the harder it is to find, and the more expensive to buy.

Now... Keep in mind that a certain fruit may not be available at all times... when new fruits come out (hopefully every month or so) it might be a good idea to save up, if you know that you'll need it...

Also, just as females have a favorite, special fruit; they also have a least favorite! If you buy and feed that to your partner, your chance of producing any chittens at all will be reduced greatly! So be careful! Also, if you feed her an incorrect fruit (not her favorite, not her least favorite) it will not change your chances of breeding at all...

How can I predict the outcome of my breeding?

Simple! Just follow what I've set up here for you:

Now, plug in the numbers like the following formula:

[Male Points] + [Female Points] + [Fruit Point Total] = ?

Here, let me do an example! I'm going to breed a common male with an uncommon female; but I accidentally gave her the least favorite fruit...

5 + 3 +- 3

What... '+-'? Oh! When you have a '+' and '-' next to each other, the '-' overrules the '+'. But enough math class... let's get on with this. ALSO: if your total comes out to be a negative, just change it to 0. That's as low as the percent goes.

My total comes to 5 pts... So how do I figure the percent?

A semi-hard shell protects the sweet tissue of this apple-like fruit. It is fairly juicy, and tastes like a mixture of an apple and a blueberry.

This soft fruit is dry and sour, tasting faintly of our lime and grapefruit.

The skin on this berry is fairly soft, and slightly fuzzy. Once bitten into, a sour goo fills your mouth, tickling your tastebuds.

Fire Fruit

This fruit resembles earth's pomegranate in it's color, thickness of skin, and seeds inside it. However a soft orange tissue holds the seeds in place, tasting almost like nothing. The yellow seeds, much like that of a pomegranate's, are encased with an odd skin, though it tastes very spicy. A red flower blooms from the top of this fruit when ripe.

***If you just want a breeding, it will be 50 pts! But your chance of getting any chittens will be low!***

The Bank

People who overpay on an auction/when auto-buying get what's called 'credit'. Say a pet was 100 pts, and you pay 130 pts worth of pets. Well, you payed an extra 30 pts. That goes into the bank, under your name, and next time that comes around, when you are wanting to buy another pet, you can dip into you credit in the bank, and use some of that to pay for the pet. If you save up a lot, you could even buy a whole pet on credit!
