"Well, he's a prince," Sarane started, surprisingly comfortable with Truly, "And I guess he just acts like the way princes do in the old stories." She sat down on the grass, not caring if it would spoil her dress or anything.

Truly was quiet a moment. "I suppose I might be judging too quickly." She said taking Chaucer's stick and throwing it so he would leave Sarane alone.

"Heh, don't we all?" Sarane sighed as she watched Chaucer chase the stick. "Where is your room? I really hope that our rooms are next to each other."

Truly shrugged. "I honestly don't know. I have been in it, but Chaucer knows where. He usually needs to help me get around big and new places such as this one." She was thrilled, maybe Sarane hadn't notticed ...

"Ooooooh can I go see?" Sarane suddenly realized that she was probably being 'impolite', and regained her composure, "I mean, if it won't bother you or something…" her voice trailed off.

Truly shook her head. "It would be Chaucer's pleasure.," she called the now somewhat dry dog over and gave him instructions. She took hold of the leash and beckoned for Sarane to follow as he surged on.

Sarane followed Truly and Chaucer swiftly through the halls, up the staircases. "Goodness, this place is huge," she grumbled, trying not to trip over her dress.

"I suppose, what kind of stairs are they? Stone or wood?" Truly asked, unused to this speed. Chaucer was usually more calm. "Sorry, I may ask you random questions occaisionally." She said over the echo of their footsteps in the halls.

"Marble, and it's okay. I ask random questions all the time myself," Sarane laughed. "Doesn't it feel so… I don't know, empty here? I thought that the palace would be bustling with maids and all that."

Truly nodded. "I think most rooms feel empty. I also think everyone is downstairs helping with dinner." They had finally stopped and Chaucer let out a quiet bark to let Truly know they were there. "Here it is." She said, reaching for the knob and then pushing the door open. Chaucer bolted inside, curling up on his bed and falling asleep. Truly slipped into her room, walking straight in and eventually finding her bed. On which she sat.
