Lifestar yowled in pain as another of her lives was taken by Deathstar. Fighting back she managed to take two of his lives at once with two quick death bites, as he rose on his last life he shifted out of her way and leaped up, clamping his jaws firmly onto Lifestar's neck. Deathstar quickly sank his teeth deep into her neck and dropped her. As Lifestar's body convulsed for yet another life lost she stood slowly and yowled to the survivors of her clan, "SHADE CLAN! RETREAT!" she yowled and raced for their camp entrance. Her medicine cat, deputy and three warriors following behind her, "where are we going?" asked Patchtail, Lifestar's deputy,
"Anywhere but here, somewhere that is free of that Code breaking clan," she winced as she collapsed on the ground and Patchtail rushed over to her, "you four go on without me, let the clan survive," she meowed weakly, "our clan must Live," as her body convulsed for the last time she lay dead on the ground with the remains of her clan around her, "we will Lifestar, I promise," Patchtail mewed before leading the others on a long journey to find their new home. The cats soon found a new area, a lush forest with tons of prey, even in leaf-bare. All the prey, herbs and shelter you could want. Patchtail soon found a small tunnel leading into a large low down clearing with rocks, caverns and a dead tree. Searching the area for enemies she found none and walked over to the dead tree and leaped on top of it, "cats of Shade Clan, this will be our new camp," she yowled, "also, I am renaming this clan to Life Clan, in honor of our brave leader Lifestar," she finished jumping down from the tree she began to sort out the dens. Little did they know, Claw clan had moved into the dead, black forest nearby and had renamed their clan to Death Clan, after their leader Deathstar who had shortly been killed by a fox looking for food in their territory. But the one huge difference, they don't know eachother clan's history.
Short Version!
(For those who can't be bothered reading the detailed long one. I highly recommend reading the long version though)
Lifestar's clan is in a fight with their rival clan, ClawClan. Lifestar loses one life and Deathstar loses two, leaving them both with one life each. Lifestar retreats the five living warriors of her clan, ShadeClan and makes them promise to help the clan survive. She then loses her last life and the other cats pay quick respect and then head out to find a new home with Patchtail (her deputy) in the lead. Then the clan becomes renamed to LifeClan in honer of Lifestar. ClawClan also move to a new spot, that is unfortunately near LifeClan and is renamed to DeathClan, in honor of their old leader who had been killed by a fox. Each clan now do not know their rival clan's history.

Other Non-Herbal Treatments
1. Gently nipping a cat's spine or poking it hard with a claw tests to see if the backbone is broken. If the subject does not feel the nip or poke, then the spine is broken. Many times a medicine cat will have to poke/nip the subject multiple times in different places to find the break.
2. Licking a cat's fur can help clean wounds, comfort/calm down a shocked or grieving cat, and warm a cat who has become very cold. (Lick the cat's fur the wrong way to do this. The last method is most often used on kits.)
3. Soaking moss in water and holding the dripping moss before a sick, injured or weak cat makes it easier for them to drink. Soaked moss can also be used to cool feverish cats.
4. Rosemary or mint can be used to lighten the death-scent of a dead cat before burial.
5. Using nectar, honey or mouse blood can make herbs sweeter and more appealing to cats--therefore making it easier to take the medicine.
6. Holding a swelling wound in cold water takes down swelling. Cats can also soothe scraped pads by soaking them in water.
7. A cat with weak or hurting muscles/bone can take part in water therapy. Have them wade in water that is not too deep or shallow, and eventually they'll get stronger.
8. Having a sick cat wail or yowl keeps their lungs and chest clear of mucus.
Taking Care of Your Herbs
Here is how a medicine cat should keep their herbs fresh and usable.
--If any herbs are wet, leave them out in the sun until they dry.
--Gather fresh herbs when your stock gets low.
--Leave enough of the herb on the plant you use for gathering it so it can reproduce
--Check your store often and throw out old herbs or herbs that have lost their healing qualities.
