"My eyes are tides"
My eyes remind me of the tide. They cause uncertain waves to come in and cover my irises with caution. The tide blankets them with their cold, hidden hostility, and then recedes. But sometimes it does not recede. Sometimes the tide comes in higher and higher, until I lose my footing, getting swept up by the currents and into their deep seas. I wish I could drown those feelings and emotions in their oceanic blueness. Vanquish all existence of any wave. Be sure that their bodies won’t resurface, even if they are too heavy. Here I am struggling to get past their danger, but accept my fate and stare back, finding what I had least expected to.
And it lifts me back up to the surface.
Here I am gasping for breath on the shore again, staring back into the vast blueness and realizing their depth. How many creatures can inhabit it and call it home. It is not only a dwelling, but rich with life, love and meaning. How mysterious, beautiful and dark my eyes are the longer I look into them. An entire ocean resides within them. And that overwhelming thought alone causes them to overflow with joy while dark, brooding hurricanes threaten to storm within them. Warm winds whip at their wetness, only aiding the tsunami of emotion to manipulate the oceans to run down into rivers and smaller streams and brooks, until they eventually drop down to form lakes and ponds upon the denim of my jeans.
And then the storm passes over, leaving the coves clear, pure, and open. I stare back into the transparent waters, able to see the smooth sanded floor beneath them. And all calm is again restored as the water lays peacefully, no waves or tides.

Pet Name: This creature goes by many names. It is the Dream spirit, Morpheus the Greek god of dreams, and many more. It is neither a he or a she.

Your Piece:
It was in the clutches of midnight that I first saw the creature. Bright blue, with long tipped ears and a bushy tail that followed the creature around. Clutched in its paw was a small orb, glowing brightly. Fascinated, I watched from my window as the creature scampered across the empty, moon lit street to an dark window opposite mine. With a mischievous grin, it leaped up to the window sill and pushed its paw against the glass. The window opened and the creature disappeared, bringing its long tail with it. The street looked darker now the creature was gone. A small puff of light escaped the window and the creature appeared. It went along the street, visiting the darkened windows. I could hear the light tap of the creatures paws on the street as it neared my window. I quickly lay down and shut my eyes. The creature lightly walked across my stomach and sat there. It held the orb out in front of my face and breathed on it. And suddenly, a dream started to creep into my mind, a beautiful dream filled of happiness and light. When I woke in the morning, I couldn't remember the creature at all.

how are you, everyfish? i'm grace and it has been quite a while. i am writing to you for two reasons, i'm proud to declare that i found my beloved soul companion. this was how we met...

" i swam in the water gracefully like my name, i started practicing on the twists and deep dives, which i'm planned to use at fish world swimming cup. as i was representing for all of you, i couldn't bear to lose. and neither was any other fish. they auctully said to me, " your kingdom is lame. " i was furious. but i had no right to hit someone unless they started it first. as i was swimming, i found the fish cheating, dashing at other fishes lines, causing a water accident.


that was when the fish, went into my line, I had anticipated that. I twisted and went into her line with a flick of my tail. and swam past her, going back to my line. that was when, a piercing whistle sound could be heard clear and loud. a young pre-teenage girl frowned. I wondered if she was frowning at me. but she wasn't. she auctully disqualified the fish, since there was a only a few of us left, she just said, " go! "


i swam like furious, and went right past the fishes. I think I must have looked ugly but determined at that moment. To cut it short, I won, I used my air pressure powers to lift me out of the water and received the prize from the girl. when I looked into her eyes, I saw a spark, and it was like the old fish tales! we immediately became friends and after that, we hardly every separated. I won't be back soon. "

Pet Name:
Aphrodite. Actually I've been thinking of naming her something sweet and simple, to parallel her design, but I decided on naming her after the Greek goddess of beauty because I feel that there's deeper meaning in the name.

Your Piece:
She hunts, fast and sleek and deadly as a bullet, every day in the little pond she lives in. Mostly she's successful and gets the unlucky water insect. Other times she just swims away from a failed hunt nonchalantly.

I have been observing this extremely special fish for quite a while. She's a lovely specimen, with glossy scales and silky fins and a full tail. She resembles a betta...but isn't one. I'm also not certain of her gender but she looks and behaves like a female.

My team has nicknamed her Aphrodite because she looks real nice for a fish, and I would have bet my teeth that she is the fish version of Aphrodite herself.

Observed her behaviour more. She may be just a fish, but she has such a personality that I sometimes wonder if she is part-human.

Aphrodite's a cheeky one, for sure. Hid behind some aquatic plants one, then sprang out in a froth of bubbles and scared a swarm of tetra silly.

She's stubborn too. Provoked a catfish once. It almost ripped her tail off but like the little daredevil she is, she continued annoying it till it swam off in a huff.

Isn't it odd for a fish to act so human? I really am puzzled.

I took a pellet of bread over to Aphrodite today. Didn't expect her to eat it - she seems like a carnivore - but she did. Even bumped my finger and swam around in crazy circles to say thanks. This was the first time I laughed so hard. I would get a few mealworms for her later. She'd like it, that cheeky little thing. Most probably would playfully nip my fingers to thank me.

She nips quite hard. Though it hurts, I always smile.

Hello! I am torisnowball, and i'll be entering for this beautiful creature- She is just amazing! I can't resist! Shes adorable, pretty, and seems like a perfect new fursona for me!

I'd name this beauty August.
The reason why is because her colors remind me of the waves washing up on shore around the end of August, which was very special to me. Ever since I could remember, me and my family (my parent, brother, and sister) would go onto the same beach every year and stay on it since 8 am and stay for the whole day until the sun sets. It may not seem like a big deal, it may just seem like a tradition, but my brother and sister were in college and a barely saw them, this time was very special to me. Especially since my sister is going away to move into the city for her job as a lawyer, and my brother is across the country because he is a marine, its been hard for me. I feel like an only child and have many school problems. But we still do this, no matter what. Every year. Also, the name is just so beautiful and it seems perfect- its a pretty name and I just love how it sounds... August

perfect for the calm and stillness of the
picture, yet was catchy! I really tried and
sat here for about a hour thinking up

still tried my best and did it without help!
