"Hey," Sarah said softly. "Hung up at work again?"

"Yeah. I'm on my way home now," he said. Just then he yawned, and ran a red light that he didn't see. A car hit the passenger side and he cursed as another hit his side.

"Okay. I'm making some food for you right now." Sarah smiled gently, but her attitude shifted when she heard a large crashing sound on the other end of the line. Her eyes widened. "Hello? JJ? Are you okay? What happened?" she asked, panicking slightly.

JJ had been knocked unconscious by the crash. There was a gash on his head and he had several broken bones.

When he didn't answer, Sarah knew that there was something wrong. "Oh no." She kept the call going, but immediately turned off the stove and rushed for shoes. Once she had them on, she nearly ran to her car and jumped in, driving frantically to the road that JJ always took to come home.

By the time she got there, the ambulance was there and trying to pry the door open so they could get JJ out.

Sarah was already a mess, before she even saw the ambulance. She'd definitely seen the crash though, and was out of her car in an instant. She rushed forward to the scene, trying to push through the small crowd that had gathered there. "Let me through!" she demanded, the panic in her voice enough to part the group.

Thedoor finally gave, and JJ was pulled out, limp as a rag doll.

When Sarah finally broke through the crowd and saw JJ, she was nearing a full-on panic attack. "Oh my God! JJ! Someone help him, please!" Tears already coated her cheeks.

A nurse saw her and rushed over. "Do you know this young man?"
