➳ personality
Magpie can only be described as a 'chameleon'. Basically, she creates a fake personality to protect herself from harm - in any name, shape or form it make approach her in. Only when you grow close to her, and she completely trusts you, will you see the true beauty of her. Magpie shows an adventurous personality - she's forever getting into trouble and sticky situations, which she always seems to pull herself from. She seems to be a bubbly, 'larger than life' young filly, but she couldn't be more different! In truth, Magpie is a very sensitive and self conscious soul - always afraid what other horses think of her and cautious to not judge them on their appearance. Whenever she gets a funny look from any animal, Magpie always asks herself 'What did I do wrong?', and will repeatedly go through the last couple of minutes to see where she went wrong. This little filly is very insecure, and doesn't trust horses very easily, so it takes a long time to finally be able to call yourself a friend of hers.
➳ past
Magpie was born into the wild, but not the way you'd think! She was born in an attempt to boost the numbers of Fell ponies in the wild, like they do with Dartmoor Ponies. Basically, to keep the blood 'clean' of any impurities, a few mares will be kept in fenced off areas on the moors, called 'newtakes' - where they run with a purebred and licensed stallion. The organisation will make sure that all the mares are pregnant by a particular date - if not, they will remove the mares and release them, ready for next year. Magpie's dam was put in a newtake with a stallion called Clyde, but did not fall pregnant to him. Another stallion had covered her first - Maximus. So, the people who run the programme believed that Connie was pregnant with Clyde. How wrong they were! When all the offspring are born, they are inspected. If approved, the offspring are put in the stud book and released with their dams. If they are not approved, the mare and it's foal are kept in the newtake until the foal is weaned - then they are separated. Magpie was one of these that was to be separated from her dam, as her sire wasn't registered, therefore presumed not 'clean'. However, on the day they were to be separated, Connie and Magpie jumped the newtake and sprinted away. Magpie stayed with her mother for a while, until her dam found Maximus - who drove Magpie away. She has been alone ever since.
➳ physical appearance
Magpie has a small head, with a broad forehead - with bright eyes set in the sides of her head. She has a sloping shoulder which makes any pace comfortable for her. Her hindquarters are strong, and her tail will be flowing when she is full grown. She has strong limbs with good, flat bone below the knee. All of these characteristics are typical of the breed.

And by the way, her past isn't made up - they actually do this on Dartmoor - a
Dartmoor pony I used to ride called Friday was one of these foals that are
considered 'unpure'.

➳ personality
Radical Gestures is a very sweet natured mare, who naturally puts others before herself. She is very shy and quiet, but don't let that trick you! She can be quite stubborn some times! This little mare does know how to have a good time - and can often be found galloping the plains, playing a part in a make believe story. This mare is a great story teller, with a brilliant sense imagination which aids this skill. Raddie is a firm shoulder to cry on - and has aided many horses through tough times in her short life. Although she can be a little slow minded, Raddie is never afraid to put work into something that she or someone else wants to achieve. When her mind is set on something, it is always achievable! This mare had a tendency to bottle up her emotions - afraid of sharing them just in case no one cares or makes fun of her.
➳ past
Radical Gestures was born on a stud farm in India, and was transported to a new stud farm in...when she was a yearling. Big plans where made for her; and at the age of two she was competing in Arabian Racing. Her legs could carry her metres with one leap; and her muscles grew to be able to work at full capacity. After winning 3 local events, the little mare was taken out of the world of sport to become a companion for a disabled girl named Amelia. She spent many years at the little girls side; until her mistress sadly passed away. Amelia's family sold Radical Gestures to another stud farm - where she earned her name when a groom whipped her and she kicked him! At the age of 4, Radical Gestures was bred with the stud's best stallion - The Reigning Emperor. After 11 months, Raddie gave birth to a little colt everyone named Night Storm. Sadly, he passed away at 3 months old, when another stallion brutally killed him so he could snake Radical Gesture. After coming out of the sadness that swallowed her when her colt died, Radical Gestures was to be sold back into the racing world. When she was being transported to the new stables, the groom took her out for a quick graze. She took her chance; rearing up and yanking her head away - ripping her halter. She galloped for the hills and never looked back...
➳ physical appearance
Radical Gestures is a well proportioned mare. She has almost endless stamina and elegance - due to her muscles that developed during her racing time. Her neck is arched, her head dished, and she carries her tail high - like a banner in the wind. Her head is set at an angle that allows great mobility and fluidity. Her ears are quite small - her back short and concave. Raddie's loins are strong, and her crop level. These are all classical characteristics of a well bred Arabian.

➳ personality
Defying Gravity is a stallion that acts beyond his years. Typically at this age, stallions are hot headed and full of themselves - feeling like they are unbeatable. Defying Gravity is totally different! This stallion is calm and collected, and is very kind. This stallion will always lay down his life to save another's, and is always the unsung hero as it were; always letting someone else take the credit for his actions. He is very quiet and trusting, and likes his space - therefore accepting other horses' space. Defying Gravity is quite inquisitive, and will usually be up for trying something new. However, his emotions don't rule his head - if he has a bad feeling about a certain place, horse or action, he won't have anything to do with them. At all. No persuasion can sway him. He does like to have a little fun - whether it be exploring, swimming or racing. But he knows when enough is enough. To sum up, he is a very sensible young stallion - unlike others his age...
➳ past
Defying Gravity is the result of a brief encounter. His sire, Oz, was a racehorse - that one day escaped the coral and galloped off. He met Idina, our young stallion's dam, and fell in love with her. Oz stayed with Idina through the night and the early hours of the morning - until the ranch hands found out he was missing. Though he wanted to stay with her, Idina told him to return to his own world. Oz was found and was taken back to the ranch. A couple of days he was put down due to a broken leg - which he got during a steeple chase. Idina gave birth to Defying Gravity about a year after her brief encounter with Oz, and loved him instantly. 6 months after his birth, he was named Defying Gravity due to a leap he carried out, which made him appear to be flying! When he was a year old, our stallion left his beloved mother to find a place of his own...
➳ physical appearance
Defying Gravity is a hardy young stallion; he is cunning, hardy and sound - all traits from his mustang dam. He has a refined head with large bold eyes and a slightly dished face - which he gets from the Arab influence all Thoroughbreds have. His neck is arched and elegant, leading to his withers and long, sloping shoulder which aids him in the ground-covering stride all racehorses possess. Defying Gravity has a short back, with muscular quarters. His chest and girth are deep - giving way for plenty of room for his lungs and heart.
