"Very good Sandpaw. Perfectly executed." She smiled proudly down at the apprenice before tilting her head to look into the forest. "How about we go practise the crouch tehnique on some prey? But you should never be wasteful. Take the weaker individuals, keep the stronger ones alive to breed... Because otherwise, there will be no prey for us to hunt." With that, she looked back at Sandpaw, sadness glistening in her eyes. "Hunt to eat. Not to kill."

Sandpaw nodded. "What does mouse smell like?" She asked. "I want to know so I know when I smell it."

Brightfrost tucked into the mouse, savouring the taste. She could feel the strength flowing though her vains. She licked Seakit again and smiled as she looked at all her kits.

Ravenflight looked around, sighing softly to herself. Why hadn't she thought of that. "Hmm... Well..." She raised her own head to sniff the air and circled around until she got to a spot where it was strongly present. "Here. Sniff here. It is the main scent under plant."

Sandpaw bounded over to the plant and took a deep breath. The scent filled her nose. "Thanks. I know what to look for now." She lifted her muzzle and sniffed. "There is one over there, I think." She crouched again and slid forwards, smooth as a snake. Once close enough, she pricked her ears, hearing the sound of movement, then pounced. The mouse started to scuttle away, and she pounced again, catching it. Then she didn't know what to do. She picked the struggling creature up in her mouth and went back to Ravenflight. She layed down and placed it between her paws, so it couldn't excape. "What do I do now?"

Ravenflight smiled and nodded. "Good. Now bite it's neck to kill it." She pushed it towards Sandpaw again, her paw over its tail to keep it from running away.

"We should make our way back to camp. I'm sorry I couldn't teach you more today, but it is getting late and Foxstar needs me to guard the camp while the others are away. Do you know if you're going?" She cocked her head, smiling reassuringly.
