Foxerfly #124 - Winner!

A Foxerfly is a fox-like creature that is rather small. They are about the size of the average house cat. Their very unique feature is the pair of wings on their back that allows them to fly unlike any other four-legged being. There are three different types of wings of a Foxerfly that resemble wings of insects.

Butterfly
Dragonfly and
Bee

Occasionally their wings will be different to others, but it is rare in the average Foxerfly. Their diet consists of everything a normal fox would eat; berries, eggs, small rodents, fruit, and they may chew on various crops. They are shy and extremely secretive among creatures of different kinds, so they are not seen often.
Be nice to your Foxerfly; they will only choose the one right for them.



This is a somewhat special foxerfly that you've stumbled upon! No, it doesn't have any special powers or anything of the sort, though it does have four other siblings that have one thing in common with them. S t a r s. As you can see, this Foxer has multiple stars on its body, and its charm involves a star as well. Your job is to impress me. Make me pick you to have this beautiful foxer, make it your own. Show me what you can do.

Looking around, its a splash of bright purples, yellows, and greens. Graceful gowns of all colors were worn by the females, and elegant suits were worn by the males. The only thing that all of the guests here had in common was that each had a unique mask resting on their face, hiding most of their identities. A tap which seemed to come from all around you snapped you right out of your trans, and all eyes turned to the stage. A beautiful lady stood front and center. You remembered her name- or well, nickname: Queen of the Masquerade. Pretty much nobody knew her real identity, she was just like a super hero. Being invited to one of her masquerades was a huge deal, for they were the best around. Wearing a white and cream colored mask with a red-brown dress trailing behind her, she was dressed the best out of all the foxerflies there. "Attention, attention," she said with a smile, "May I have your attention, please?" with that, the crowd fell into a complete silence. "I'd like to welcome you to the Grand Star Masquerade." The guests applauded. "Thank you, thank you! I hope that all of you enjoy your stay here. We have refreshments and meals for you convenience by the entrance, as well as a dance floor and some seats near the right. To the left is the entrance to the hall where you will find the stair case to the balcony and the restrooms. At the back you'll find a place where you can sit, talk, eat, and watch the others dance! If there is any other questions, please ask the staff. Other then that, have fun!" Another applaud flowed, and with that, the chatter began to build up again. You knew that this would be one of the best nights of your life.

As the foxerflies that were once spread around the stage molded out into the croud, you
saw a foxerfly walk up to you. Not just "a" foxerfly, "the" foxerfly! Lady Nephele! "Hello,
there!" She smiled. "Hey, I believe I've heard about you before! Was it your sister? Or
brother?" You nod. "Of course. Siblings are hard to deal with occasionally, but you
should try having four of them!" She sees your eyes widen. "Yes, four! Having all
of them is a good and bad thing, believe it or not!"

"Oh, Marzia..." Says with a smile. "Head always in the stars."

Nephele sighs. "I've never really told anyone this yet, but I've always
been a bit jealous of Akiko, being the youngest, and all..." She trailed off. "Though
shes a bit of a 'Smart-Alec,' She's lovable and hyper." Nephele smiles. "Very cute.
The reason I'm jealous is her being the youngest! It may be hard to think, but the
young years were the best of my life. I just wish I could go back. Have a chance to
be the little girl I've always wanted to be. I want to be her!"

Alastair
Blue Orca
Nephele chuckled, "Pour Alastair is the only brother. Lucky him!
I'm very close to Alastair, literately like a brother to me. Hes able to keep his
promises, help you out, and encourage you on anything. What else do I have to
ask from him?" Nephele smiled. "If I have a bad day, he'll listen. If I
need some encouragement, he'll do it!" Blushing, Nephele tells you "If
I had to pick a favorite, it would be Alastair. Sshh!"

April
~Carmel~
"I love April. Shes always has your back." Nephele smiles. "I
couldn't ask for anything more then a sibling like that." She proudly proclaims.
"I just wish I was as close as her and Akiko. Shes quiet among everyone but her.
Maybe someday. Someday soon." She paused and sighed. "Oh! Anyways, April
is very artistic and smart, two characteristics that I believe that both of us have in
common. Shes also very adventurous, but that can cause a whole lot of trouble."
she chuckled, remembering all of the crazy things she had been dragged into.

Taking a seat next to "The Queen" was nice, of course, since you got to know her a little better. To bad her name was still a mystery. Eating with her did reveal a few strange quirks, though...

practically anything else like that might as well
be her middle name! Through the entire meal,
she only acted like a stereotypical "Lady." No
wonder shes called "Queen!"

~Friendly~
Nephele said "hello," "how are you," or "nice to
meat you," to everyone who walked by! She
proved to not only know most of the foxers there,
but also great at first impressions and a true
conversation starter!

~Precise~
You could obviously tell that "The Queen" had a
case of OCD. She wouldn't talk or at least look
at anyone until her meal was organized to her
liking: A napkin under her plate and one on her
lap, silverware to her left, and a cup to her right.

As everybody got up from the diner table and began to talk again, Nephele clears her throat and looks back at you. "Excuse me, dear, I'll be back in a few." Nephele walks up on stage. "Hello, hello!" She announces into the mic after a bit of stacicy noise. "I hope you are all enjoying yourself!" She smiles. "I figured that it would be a lot of peoples first time at a ball, hm?" A loud chatter followed. "So, I thought that maybe you'd like to hear my first experience at a ball, right?" A cheer and an applause answered;; "YES!" "Heh, heh, I guess so! Here it is!"
With a loud ring, I sprang up from my bed and looked around. Silence. I looked around. No Alastair, April, Akiko, or Marzia. I looked out the window. It was a cool mid-spring day with a few breezes and clouds, the sun still shining bright. A few flowers of all colors were scattered throughout the front yard, and leaves blew around like they were dancing. An average day. But where was everyone? I yawned and hopped out of bed, then looked in the mirror. Same room, same yard, same me. Same everything. I stretched my neck and turned around to see me and my siblings oversized room. The moment I yawned again was the moment I saw the clock. I sprang up. "12:36!? Who let me sleep in?!" I heard a voice come from down stairs, "Uh oh." I groaned and walked down the stairs. "Marzia. Akiko. Alastair. April." I paused and smiled. They cautiously smiled back. "WHAT- WHY, DID YOU LET ME SLEEP IN?!?!" They all smirked. "You looked so peaceful…" Akiko smiled. "Would we really do that to our dear sister?" April asked with a grin. "Oh! Well if you put it that way…" She trailed off and looked away. "IT TOTALLY STILL ISN'T OKAY!!!" My angered turned to disappointment. "You guys know that this day is very important to me!" They looked at me in confusion. "Huh?" They asked in union. "The tickets?" I reminded them. "Ohh…" They said again. "Ugh, what's so important about some dinky ball tickets anyways?" Alastair asked, rolling his eyes. "Their not just some ball tickets!" I said in a bit of surprise. "Their the ball tickets!" I announced. "The ball tickets?" Marzia chuckled as she covered her mouth. "Yes, THE ball." I sighed, "The Grand Star Ball, you know?" I asked as the sunlight twinkled in my eyes. They looked at me in confusion. "Fine, fine. Never mind. Anyways, have any of you heard the doorbell yet?" I grumbled. "Oh, yeah." April smiled. "Wait- YOU HAVE?!" I asked in excitement. "Why are you so surprised?" Asked Marzia. "Didn't you hear it?" I quickly rushed outside to a breeze that made me shield my eyes and saw the envelope… addressed to me! Eek! I rushed back inside and laid the envelope on the table. My siblings gathered around me as I cleared my throat, preparing to open it up. I took out the card first. "You are graciously invited to The Grand Star Gala!" I smiled and did a little dance around the room. I got right back in my place afterwards and continued. "It will be held May 2nd, 6:15pm until 10:00pm! That's tomorrow night!" I gasped. "And the sky is blue." Alastair added, rolling his eyes. After a fit of giggles, I spoke again. "Listen, this may not be important to you, but really, I want this more then anything! And if you don't care, so be it, but I do! So stop it before I tell mom." I teased. "Alright, alright, continue." April asked. I cleared my throat once more and did so, "You are invited- been there, Will be held- done that, oh! Here's where we left off: In the envelope we've included three tickets to the Ball as well as directions to the Ballroom. We are in Room 7C, or, the penthouse." I announced, slipping the card back into the envelope and placing it on the counter. "Woa, so you get three tickets? Who are you bringing?" Marzia asked. "Me, myself, and I!" I responded. "Whatever." Alastair grumbled. "Hey, I'd take the envelope with you!" Akiko called to me as I went up the staircase to get to our room. April grabbed it and flew up to me with it. I took it in my mouth. "Whygh?" I asked April, the envelope making my voice sound rather strange. "You never no! One of us may take it!" She suggested. I sighed. "Of course! Call me down when mom and dad are home." April nodded her head and flew back downstairs as I continued my way up. I spent the rest of the day in my room. My siblings have always envied me for having my own room, while they had to share. Spending the rest of my day watching the rain trickle by, reading the letter and tickets over and over again, and daydreaming probably wasn't the best way to waste my day, but waste it I did. After hours of doing that I decided that I would try to teach myself how to fly. I was still an early teen and my parents hated flying, so I have never properly learned. Flapping my wings up and down, I was carefully able to lift myself off of the ground! I was flying! I was about to call down to my siblings, but I banged into a shelf and fell on my stomach with a loud smack. "Ejh!" I whined out. Glancing over by right shoulder to see my clock, I shock myself and screamed with thrill. "8:01! Mom! Dad!" Jumping up like a cat after a dog bit it's tail, I sprinted down the stairs and tackled them. "Hey sweetie!" My dad smiles, "What's up?" I smiled back and held up my tickets. "Ooh, they came!" My mom said as she took them. "Three?" She asked. "Yeah, three!" They both looked at each other. "Weren't there only supposed to be one?" My dad asked. "Yes, and she'd meet Aunt Meringue to keep an eye on her." My mom explained. Clearing her throat, she looked back at me, "Sweetie, we can't waste two of those tickets. You're going to have to bring two of you siblings." My mouth dropped open, "What!? But this was supposed to be my thing!" I complained. "Ooh, could I come?" Alastair asked, flying around the corner. Of course it was Alastair of ALL of my siblings. I sighed, "Yeah, sure." Looking around the corner, I saw April bounce out. "Ooh! Ooh! Me too!" She smiled. I grumbled and nodded. "Alright, nice! Nephele, why don't you go into your room? Get some rest?" My dad suggested. "Okay." I grumbled walking up the stairs and plopping myself on my bed. Rolling onto my back, I looked up through the small window on the ceiling. I pointed out constellations to myself. Leo… Orion… Draco... They're all here. I then drifted off into a deep sleep, and the next night was here before I knew it.

The applause after the story of Nephele's first ball and how she got her charm soon died down, and Nephele hopped down. "Hello again, I was wondering, would you like to come with me- or, ahem, us," she corrected herself after looking behind her and seeing a crowd that over heard, "And look at my childhood scrapbook?" She smiled. You nod back. "Great! Lets go over to that table."

Looking at one last photo of The Queen and her siblings,
a bell rang and everybody sighed. You looked over at the
clock. It read exactly 11:00PM. Looking back at the stage
where she disappeared onto, it looked like she was about
to give one final speech. "Wait a minute before you leave,
please!" She called to everybody. "Their are a few foxers
I'd like to thank! I'd like to thank Blue Orca, Just Some Fangirl,
~Carmel~, and SoulFireWolf for teaming up with me! Also,
thank you Scootalo. for the gift lines! That would be all, I
hope you enjoyed yourselves!" Leaping back down from
the stage, Nephele walked back over to you as you prepared
to leave. "Thank you for coming! I enjoyed your company, and
maybe we can do it again!" She winked, and her eye twinkled as
it did in her story. You smile, say thanks, and walk out the door,
knowing this truly was the best night ever.
