Hey guys. Can you help me please? Witchcraft has always interested me and are one point I was thinking of becoming a Wiccan, but ended up not actually becoming one because my family is a Christian family (Guess I'm a defector. Heh.) If they were to see a pentacle they'd think I'm worshipping Satan or something because pentacle obviously=pentagram (since Christianity uses the excuse that apparently all other religions were made by Satan beforehand, and if you follow "den u burn in hell!!!11!")
Right now, however, I'm an agnostic-atheist, or just an atheist, I'm not sure. I'm not looking in really "joining" the Wiccan religion, but following witchcraft. Not black magic or w/e, like Wiccan-style magic, since witchcraft isn't really bound to religion in the first place. So... Where should I start?

~ You're very welcome here, Also I'm in the same situation as you so I can relate. My mother previously found my pentacle and drug me through hell and back. Luckily I convinced her it was a gift and lied about me being pagan. My parents are Fundamental Baptists so they're by the book. I'm also a Pansexual and basically the Anti-Christ to the church lol Yet no one knows except a few good friends who could care less c:

Does anyone do a daily practice? I used to be really good about them, but I've gotten lax in my practices. I hope that after my move this week I'll be able to set up a new alter and begin anew. I do still try to get some meditation into my day.

Anyways I was wondering if anyone else did something like that? You don't have to be specific or anything, I'm just curious.

I give thanks to my Lady every morning when I wake up as part of a "daily practise" thing. I don't actually use an altar, instead I just pray in the privacy of my own room (though I do practise the Diepnon every new lunar month).

Random question; I'm trying to come up with my own spell to help somebody who never remembers their dreams. I've already planned most of it, but do you guys know any good (cheap though) materials? I have some smokey quartz, and multiple friends who are willing so give me leaves, petals, etc, from their gardens since I don't have one. I was thinking mostly items found around the house that enhance memory and dreams in general...?

lavender and maybe heather if I remember correctly they both start to bloom during spring, I would aslo recommend amethyst. You can find it cheaply if you look around. I got a good sized point at a museum gift shop for a single dollar last year.

I would very much like to, but I haven't figured out how. After I am done the huge year end project for school, I'll put together something that I will do each morning and each night before bed

Black Calcite - assists in regaining memories
Hematoid Calcite - assists in improving memories
Barite - helps recall dreams

Herbs:
Rosemary - aids the memory

Thank you guys, I think I'll start with Rosemerry & smokey quartz and see if that works for now, my friend told me he'd be bringing me some lavander anyway so if my first plan doesn't work I'll have that soon. And after doing some reading I think I'm going to try to find some barite for myself and the person the spell is for, lol.

My parents have begun threatening me with church... They've decided that taking away my electronics for punishments isn't enough so now they've decided if I get in trouble I have to go to church with my grandmother... This is why I tried to hide my alter in my closet and kept all my other stuff in a shoe box.

This is just wrong. I hate it when family members do this to one of their own because they don't believe the same way they do. My mom does this to me all the time. She joked with my grandmother the other day at easter about how they should forcefully get me baptized...

What you need to do is not change. Let them know that no matter what, you are not going to budge on the issue. If they make you go to church with your grandmother, so be it. But do something that will make them regret it. I told my mom if she made me go to church with my grandmother again, that I would do it... but that I would be wearing my pentacle and would not partake in singing any hymns or doing any prayers. I haven't had to go to church with my grandmother in over a year.

We all need to let our families know that this sort of thing is wrong and it wont be tolerated. I for one am done with the discrimination I face on a daily basis because of what I believe. Sorry for the rant by the way. I am just so sick of seeing this sort of thing happen...
