no one is quite sure why the lights went out, but there has been many a theory. an
international conspiracy between the energy companies - oil, gas, electricity. they
decided they were not being awarded as much as they ought. terrorist groups who
had discovered the ultimate weakness of those in power. activists concerned for
the inevitable 'global warming'. regardless, when the masses decide to take it upon
themselves to hit back whilst their leaders seem to sit idle, 'order' and 'control' are
foreign concepts. looting. murder. gang behaviour. those with the power were those
to be feared. and all because the lights went out. the true anomaly is the decreasing
daylight hours. two years on from that initial blackout, and there are hardly six hours
in the day. but now they say that there is something in the darkness. something
dangerous. to survive? find a group. find a source of power. stay out of the darkness.

bradley john kaufman, the aspiring surgeon-in-
training. when the blackout struck, bradley was
studying to save the world in his own little way.
for a self-aware, awkward guy like him, being a
hero seemed impossible yet it was something he
longed for. that's initially what got him into
medicine. when getting a proper job became
difficult after the blackout, brad resorted to
helping injured people on the streets and around
town. he has a very grave opinion on their current
situation. he's very secluded but stays courteous
and polite. brad is referred to as more of a "sidelines
guy", only jumping in on the action when someone's
hurt and needs his specific assistance.

pulled into his father's work from the get-go.
at twenty-one years old, dax is a confidant
and head-strong young man who, since the
blackout, has been able to survive through
sharing his skills and avoiding others as much
as he can. dax is, naturally, wary of others.
he finds it impossible to abandon those who
require help, though - suffocatingly protective
and too much of the 'want-to-be-the-hero'.
