Owlwoofs are a cross of dogs and owls. They do not fly. Instead of barking they Chirp and Screech. They have wide, soft, tail feathers. When angry, they spread out. When happy, they start to flap. When sad, they fold into one feather and hang between their legs. Their giant eyes are good for seeing in the dark. Some even glow! They are sensitive to the sun and bright lights. Each Owlwoof has a pattern of its own. Making each one of a kind! They have thick claws for climbing and grabbing. Their fur is not as thick when in the warm seasons. In the colder seasons, it grows to be thick. DO NOT pluck any feathers for it hurts the animal very much.
Food
They feed on the basic food groups. They prefer to eat things like mice and insects. They don't eat anything bigger than a rabbit. They have rows of small teeth unnoticeable to the eye. Those teeth help with chewing greens. They don't eat all types of plants. They mostly like to eat weeds, such as dandelions and such. They don't like sharing at all. They scare but don't attack. How? They simply fluff out their tail, puff up their chest, and screech.
Home
They live in Pine Trees and Oak trees. Some burrow in already dug up dens. How do they get into Pine and Oak trees without wings? Like I mentioned, they use thick sharp claws to climb. They also use their beaks. Some prefer to flap their tail as they climb. How do they get down? They jump and spread out their tail feathers. The tail feathers basically play the role of wings. They help balance. They can jump so high because of good balance and strong legs.
Mates
Each one mates for life
Finding the right mate is very hard. Females must create the perfect nest. They also sing a ''beautiful'' song. A male will go to the mate, song, and nest, he finds the most appealing to him. Some males won't find a mate. Reason being that they didn't like anything they heard/saw, lack a females, or just not wanted to have a mate yet. They usually fill a nest with 1-3 Puplings. The puplings will grow to be taller than the mother. Unless female. Than they would be around the size of the mother. Same for males, the same size as the father.
Height-Weight
A male would be the same size as Great Dane.
Females being the same size as an average husky/collie.
Male pups the same size as a small pug
Female pups the size of a chihuahua
Adult males and females weigh the same weight of the average healthy dog.
Pups, the weight of the average pup.
