Honeywing heard Mintpaw and turned to her, worried, "What's wrong, Minty?"

Mintpaw looked at her mentor,a little startled."Nothing,I'm fine.Just...thinking about something,that's all."

"Are you sure? I won't tell a soul, if its something private." Honeywing searched her apprentice's face for any clue of what she was thinking of.

"Well...I-I loved Smokepaw...but I know that medicine cats aren't allowed to have mates but I couldn't help it.Now I think him and Mosspaw love each other."She sighed and looked at her paws ashamed."I'm a terrible medicine cat apprentice..."

"Its alright! No you're not. Don't worry, I had a crush too.... Rockfall actually." Honeywing replied softly, gently resting her tail tip on Mintpaw's shoulder assuringly.

Mintpaw sniffed and blinked back tears."I feel like I am..."She rested her head on Honeywing's shoulder and sighed again.

Honeywing shook her head, "But, you aren't." She gently licked Mintpaw's ear, like a mother with a kit.
