Foxcloud nodded. "I'm going on." She slithered slowly down and watched the moo's light glitter on the stone. She pressed her nose to it and closed her eyes. Sleep took her.

"Moonstar!Jaywing!" The russet she cat darted forward. "I'm so sorry," Jaywing mewed, "that I said all of those things. You did the right ting. Thank you."

[Cradily]

Timberfoot lay down beside Foxcloud and entwined his tail with hers, waiting patiently for her to wake up.

"I don't blame you!" Foxcloud fought back tears. "I miss you two so much!"

"As we do you." Jaywing mewed, lowering his gaze. Moonstar stepped forward.
"Foxcloud, it is undeniable that your trouble with life has made you stronger. You'll need that strength if you are to save your Clan-and the life of your first love."

Foxcloud gasped, but shook away her fears. "Kestrelstar has nine lives." Se pointed out.
"I had eight," Moonstar mewed, "and the cat worse then Scourge of old has not settled. Even foxes fear him."
Foxcloud shiver lightly. What could she, a useless cripple, do?
Moonstar went on, "There is a prophesy. 'In her last moments a Fox will fly.'" He mewed gravely. "You will save him, and the Clan will be saved. Remember your destiney..." Moonstar faded from veiw. "No! Don't go!" She cried.
"Foxcloud." Her emerald eyes sparkled with fear and grief as she turned to her brother.
Jaywing smiled, as if reminiscing old days. "I remember the first day I was out of the nursery. You were still an Apprentice, though Moonstar was Moonglow. Remember all of the badger rides you gave me?" He murmured.
"Yes," Foxcloud mewed, closing her eyes. "I remember you used to bite my ears. Will I ever...?" She opened them and glanced at her injuries. "No." Jaywing mewed. "Not even in StarClan." Foxcloud just nodded. "Ok." She mewed.
"One more thing- find out where your loyalties lie." Her brother faded from veiw.

"No don't go, please! We have to fix it!" Foxcloud shook awake.

[Cradily]

"Are you okay?" Timberfoot asked with a frown. "What happened?"

[C a s]

Foxcloud shook off. "It's... I don't know even how to explain it. I don't know what it means. I have to speak with... Leopardtail." Kestrelstar was the last cat she wanted o see right now.

[Cradily]

Timberfoot nodded. "I understand. Let's get back to camp." He stood up, stretched his legs, and began the climb to the surface.

Blazefire quietly followed Burntpaw down the tunnel. Then he saw a glowing light. His eyes widened.

Burntpaw lead the way down the tunnel. The med apprentice knew the tunnel like the back of his paw. When they reached the bottom, it opened into a light place with a shimmering pool of blue water. "Touch your nose to the water and close your eyes," He instructed.
