Norman stared at her with a kind, caring smile. As much as he could muster under the circumstances. He grabbed her hand and lightly blinked at her, smiling widely as she spoke. He couldn't believe it. Madison was alright. She was ok and alright, and...maybe he could get through all of what was happening, stress and all, with her by his side. His bright smile turned into a pale stare. "What..." He whispered. "What? Madison?" He tilted his head and crinkled his eyebrows. "What...?"

Madison looked away, though she was sure that seeing his expression go from happy to completely broken was a sight that would stick with her for a while. "I'm really sorry Norman. It's not you; please don't think it is. I just have to think right now. I'm sorry. It's nothing you did." she repeated, her voice becoming a little watery towards the end.

"Think?" Norman choked. "About what?" He croaked out, hearing her voice break. Was she crying? Well, if she was crying, she clearly had every intention not to break it off. Something must have happened. "Maddy...what happened?" He asked, heart break in his tone. He let go of her hand and tried to smile, though it was just a shattered frown. "Why did we just break up?"

(( And...guess what? He can't leave until you do, because they took your cycle over to the hospital! Cruel, cruel irony... ))

Madison closed her eyes for a few moments, staring out of the window and refusing to face him. She just needed time to think. "I'm sorry Norman. I don't-.." she trailed off. That'd be a lie. Oh, she knew exactly what had happened. "There's just a lot of crap going in my life right now, alright? I know there is in yours too, but..look, this is crazy. I can't explain it right now, I just..need some time." she explained.

With a raised eyebrow, Norman slowly nodded. "I...understand, I guess. We do have a lot going on right now, and...if you don't think you're ready for a relationship right now, Maddy, then that's fine." He smiled and brushed her hair. "Sure. Take as long as you need."

Madison frowned, feeling her bottom lip tremble. She wouldn't cry; not in front of him, anyways. She didn't wanna get him all tore up, too. "I'm sorry Norman. I'm so sorry. Maybe you should just..go. I'll be fine. I'm sorry," she said, repeating her apology for what felt like the thousandth time, looking down at the floor.

"How can I just go?" Norman asked, racking a hand through his brown hair. He let out an exasperated sigh, looking over at her again before pacing around the room. "No, I can't, Maddy! I can't! I can't just leave you here, not after you just had an insomnia attack!" He shouted, feeling his breathing grow slower as he calmed down. "I can't just leave you, Madison." That and we took your bike over here.

Madison closed her eyes. "Just go, Norman! I'm sorry, I need to think by myself! I..this is something serious I need to think about! I've had plenty of insomnia attacks before!" she snapped. She felt absolutely awful for getting hateful, and it was all forced for the most part, but she really needed to be alone..oh, God, she felt horrible. Awful. She then realized he took her bike over there. "Call Zayden or Blake for a ride or something." she suggested, her voice a little calmer and nicer; caring.

Norman looked at her, eyes shattering like a million splinters. "Just go!" echoed her harsh, cold words, off her even colder lips. "Alright...I'll call Zayden," he walked over to the door. "Bye, Maddy."

Madison felt heartbroken, but she knew it was what she had to do..for now, at least. She reached up and wiped her eyes with her hands, breaking down once Norman left the room. How was she meant to explain this mess? Tears began to roll down her cheeks as she wondered what she had just done and what she was going to do.
