Dakota's ears flicked up in surprise. She said in response, "Why not. I mean, I do need a herd." She nudged his shoulder softly in appreciation.

Four straight hours of walking. Firesong snorted, ears twitching, searching for water. At last she came to a stream, and lapped up the precious, glistening liquid. After she had finished, her head jerked up, ears forward, feeling uneasy. On the horizon, the distant shape of a herd formed, grazing. Firesong was naturally curious, and she tentatively walked over to investigate.

(Quick- who's open?)

Illusion nodded gently, nuzzling her neck. He gently nudged her towards the nearest smell of a mare. He picked up a trot, nickering gently. He trotted towards the river, wanting a drink to quench his thirst. He took quick, short sips and raised his head back up. He then spotted a chesnut mare walking towards a herd. He nickered softly again, trying to meet her before she got snaked by the herd. He normally was very mischievous but, now he just wanted to build a herd.

Firesong heard the gentle greeting. She stopped and looked at him in a friendly way. Walking over to him, she whinnied. "Hi there," she said gently.
