Gelyn is a Welsh translation of the word Holly; Which this sima's leafy coat inspired me of.

Gelyn is a heavily misunderstood individual. He's an avid
protector of the forest; and those who are less fortunate than himself.
He spends hours gathering food, chasing off dangerous predators, and
helping rescue little birds. He was always a friendly guy, who always
meant well and always wanted to help the best he could.

However, Just because he has a kind heart, doesn't mean he's nice.
While he's happy to help anyone he can, he just can't seem to do it
without making someone angry in the process. He's snippy and often
very put-offish. Sometimes he's even downright intimidating!

He does his best to make friends, but many just don't want to take
the time to understand this poor fellow. However he does enjoy the
company of the local birds, who he finds wonderful companions on
their own. They don't require him to talk, and for this reason he
adores them. Its very rare for this sima to be seen without some
sort of bird companion.

Though he's not good at making friends; He can be gotten along with,
with the gentle hand of anyone willing to take the time to understand
that he's not mean, he's just got a bad way with words and an
unusual outlook on life.

He finds happiness in many ways; though many wouldn't even know he was happy because of his attitude. He loves to chase the leaves; and loves to just sit in silent company with anyone willing to. Though he's not good at talking; he's a spectacular listener who never forgets a friend.

His wonderful listening skills are admirable; but they are also a plague to him.

He remembers every insult he's given; every time someone calls him mean or rude; every time he's called a jerk. Each one just adds onto his list of regrets. He's not good at coping with these regrets, so he tries to make up for his bad handling of speech by doing kind deeds, and his biggest dream is to someday meet someone who can understand him and see him for the gentle soul he really is. I imagine him with a bit of a Russian accent; which also factors into how he tends to put people off.

He has a strong sense of loyalty; and an even stronger sense of justice. He will do anything for something he believes is right. He might be determined, but he's not necessarily stubborn. Because he is a good listener; he tends to be quite open-minded. No matter the situation he is willing to listen and possibly change his opinion.

He is a lone wolf who wants nothing more than to do the best that he can. He's a kind soul; with an unfortunate manner of addressing others. He loves to listen, but wishes he understood how to talk to others. He might be misunderstood, but he's happy being just the way he is. He just hopes that one day,someone will take a little time to look past his outer attitude and get to know him for the gentle guy he really is.

I believe Gelyn's theme song would be the song Wake Me Up; by Avicii.
All that Gelyn wants to do is help; but it seems he can just never do it right.
He want's to change himself so that he can get along with others, and he often just wishes he could go to sleep and wake up being someone that others would like.


He's still trying very hard to come to terms with who he is and understand that he is happy being himself. He's lost in his own worries, instead of just focusing on being happy.


He wants to make a difference in the world, but he's afraid of being turned away by those who don't like him. He wants someone to care for him, to help him with a guiding hand instead of spurning his company.


He wants to wake up; when he's someone the world would find worth having.
He just needs someone to show him that he's just a little lost.




Gelyn grew up alone. He doesn't remember any parents or family. His first real memory is laying alone in a forest clearing, crying for someone to find him, but no one came for this little Sima.

He may have starved if not for the kindness of a few forest creatures, who adopted this strange creature, offering him companionship and teaching him how to survive.

He didn't always have his leafy covering, but instead developed it as he became part of the forest, and the forest became a guiding factor in his life. He soon evolved from a lost little kit, to a powerful guardian of his home.

He travels the woods, and though he'd never admit it he harbors a wish to find his long lost parents. Though he'd love to find them he doesn't know what he'd do. He might thank them, because he'd never become who he was if they hadn't abandoned him, or he might be angry at them, for leaving him alone. Thats suggesting they recognized each other anyways.

In place of his parents, the forest itself was his role model and effectively his mother. The nurturing he needed was provided by the birds and the squirrels and other animals that resided there, and the discipline that taught him consequence was the strict laws of survival.

He received the armband on his leg after getting into a fight while chasing some humans from his home. He tried to scare them away with snarls and warning them, but they wouldn't leave, instead hitting and being cruel to this creature. Because of this bad experience, he never got along with humankind. He wears the armband to cover a scar where he'd been burned by one of the humans cruel pranks, playing with a lighter.

Though the burn is mostly healed, the scar is still there and he wears the band to hide it from his own view. It disgusts him for many reasons.

He hates the way that the humans acted, and hates himself for how he acted in return. So long as he wears the band he'll never forget his regrets.
