Sarah's heart sank. "I'm so sorry, Jamie. I didn't mean to hurt you."

Cecilie nodded and led him to the kitchen. "He should be home soon," she said, glancing at the clock. She paused, then continued again. "Tell me about what happened while you were gone." She got out the ingredients for hot chocolate.

Jamie shook his head. "I forgive you."

JJ told her about everything. "So... we either have to disappear from that life or go on living it. But we'll work that out later," he sighed. After a moment he looked at her. "Can I go surprise Em and Lei?"

Sarah pulled away just enough to see his face. "You...you do? But...I hurt you."

Cecilie listened to everything quietly, just letting him speak. She handed him his cocoa gently. "Whatever you decide to do, I know that it will be the right decision." She kissed his forehead again. "Of course you can, baby."

He nodded. "Of course I forgive you."

JJ nodded and set his cup down. He went up and woke Lei up first. They hugged and talked for a good ten minutes. Then he went to Emily's room. He smirked and flopped on her bed.

Sarah hugged him again tightly, overwhelmed with relief. He didn't hate her for leaving.

Emily rolled over in her sleep. "Lei, go back to bed," she groaned, assuming it was her sister.

He hugged her back.

JJ chuckled and put on a girly voice. "But Em! Get up!"

Sarah pulled back after a few more moments. "How's Dad?"

Emily hardly even noticed the different voice in her sleepy state. "Go away," she groaned.

Jamie sighed and let her look at Luke.

JJ chuckled again. "Emily, look at me," he said in the girly voice.

Sarah winced. She slowly walked over, then knelt at his bedside. Her head fell to rest near his forearm. "I'm so sorry," she whispered, squeezing her eyes closed.

Emily groaned again in protest, but this time obeyed and rolled over, opening her eyes. When she saw JJ, she screamed and nearly attacked him in a hug. "JJ!" she exclaimed, leaping forward and wrapping her arms around him. "What're you doing here?"

Kris looked over at her. "Come here, sweetheart," sbe murmured in French.

JJ smiled and hugged her back. "Sarah's parents are in the hospital," he said sadly. It upset him too. "But I decided to come see you guys."
