I'm going to apologize in advance for lack of photos. I don't have any other than the collage from the rescue right now, but will try to get some soon.
Teddy is a small mix that my Aunt adopted from our local no-kill. His fur is wiry, HE'S wiry, and very very energetic. I'll definitely see about getting the other required pics the next time I see him.

Dog's Name: Teddy

Definitely some kind of terrier/terrier mix who badly needs to be hand stripped. Hesitant to label him as more then that due to me not being sure what the more common terrier breeds are.

That he does! I let my aunt know the specific type of grooming he needs, so she may be trying to find a groomer who will do it soon.
Thanks though! The animal control where he was surrendered and then pulled from had him listed as a 'poodle mix' on his papers. Wut? >_>

First time posting here owo

Anyways I just thought I'd share something.. I have this amazing book called the Ultimate Guide to Dog Breeds {Derek Hall} with a ton of info about most every breed and lots of info on dogs in general ; health, travel, origins, etc.
Like right now, on the Siberian Husky page, it has Origins - where the dog was developed. Appearance - what they look like. Coat - the roughness/smoothness of it, thickness, colors, etc. Also size, how big they are in height and weight. Characteristics and Temperament speaks for itself. And most every page has this info or a variation of it, plus at least one high quality picture of the dog ^^; Just thought I'd let you know in case anyone wanted to check it out. Very nice and official book :3
I have the copy that looks like this ; but I'm pretty sure they're the same/similar or something. Either way I assure you it's a good book x3

~~~
On a more on-topic note, I have a dog and people keep telling me she's a labrador retriever, but she seems too thin {not skinny, just slim} and she doesn't have as big a chest as some lab retrievers do. Anyways, thoughts? We rescued her and she might just be a plain mutt, but oh well<3
And I'm really sorry I don't have super accurate measurements because she lives at my dad's house and right now I'm at my moms. And all I have here is a cat : P
Dog's Name: Leia
Height: 20-25 inches at withers, maybe?
If you want/need any more pics just let me know and I can upload some :3 I have a ton but they all have backgrounds with the interior of my house and I'd rather not show that so I erase it and make it white, but that takes a few minutes, but no trouble ^^;
@Creamcat: sorry but none of those pictures are very good for identification purposes. Also, a profile picture is from the side, not straight on.
@Starhorse: Is there anyway we can get pictures with better lighting? Particularly the stacked, side ones. Having a hard time really getting an idea of her.
I cast my vote towads Rottie mix, I see no lab. Maybe Rottie/GSD, possibly Rottie/spaniel or setter. Its POSSIBLE to get a black and tan lab mix, but rare since the gene for tan points is recessive and very rare in labs.
@Saracirce - some more pics. These were the best I could do ; I don't have many good lighting pics of her, sorry! >.<
Link Link Link Link Link Link
This isn't what she really looks like anymore ; this pic was from when we first got her, or before perhaps. She wasn't living in very great conditions ; hence the scruffy and muddy coat.
@Cardinal - Now that you mention it, I see a LOT of rottie in her |D Can't believe I never really thought about it before. Her markings are a bit lighter than theirs, but that's probably whatever she's mixed with. Like I said, I didn't see much lab either but everyone kept telling me she resembled one x3 And possibly some GSD too, or she might just be a big sweet mutt.
All I know for certain is she was used for probably fighting a bit when she was young. {take a look at the pics ; she only has half a left ear and it's got a jagged cut so it was definitely teeth. Plus she was abused ; she was afraid of my dad for awhile and she's scared of random stuff like fans. And she doesn't get along well with other dogs ; she goes into a pretty heavy play-fight right away.}
Just for some background, which might also signal Rottie a bit because {sadly} they're used sometimes as fighting dogs, which is of course illegal in most/all places, but people do it anyways. She was rescued from a shelter/pound place.
A fairly sizable portion of the Lab population does have a narrower chest. Some people fancy it over the thicker labs as a response to the extreme show Labs.
Google "Field bred Labrador" and you'll get quite a few narrower chested dogs, like these:
and
Labs have been so overbred that they can vary greatly from dog-dog.
If she were my dog, I'd just call her a Lab mix and call it good. As far as GSD or Rottie, I personally don't see characteristics of either popping out clearly and I'm not comfortable picking a mix without obvious traits showing.
I can say that I believe GSD would be more likely than Rottie due to the nature of her masking and tan points. Masking is dominant so one parent would've had to carried/expressed it and I don't think I've seen a Rottie with a mask let alone a strong one.(Maskless is recessive) While it's the opposite with GSDs, it's rare to find one without.
Edit: Here's a purebred Lab w/ Tan points for visual comparison
Thank you! And wow, those look a LOT like her x3 Also I noticed that in a lot of the pictures {field bred Labrador} the dogs were drooling, and Leia is.... very, very drooly, more when you bring out food. Thank you! She's a lab mix then, I'll leave it at that :3
