instead of guppies I'm thinking of paradise fish, I know a little bit about them, anyone have some helpful info? I haven't yet got a tank.

They are very aggressive fish, so should not be housed with smaller or gentle-natured fish. They're a species of gourami, and tend to harass one another. They get bigger than guppies, and as they're territorial will need a bigger tank- at least 20 gallons. Males will fight for dominance, and will also attack and kill (and dine upon) other fish.


I for one prefer guppies, but that's because I prefer gentle communities

Been looking on aqua bid at bettas I wish I had the money for this fellow <3 but I don't so I just saved the photo I might try to do a painting of my ten gal. And use this photo for the betta. (sorry Sontar)

My dad said that he'll give me $50 if I get all A's on my report card. Nope. Facepalms* I wanted to use that money to buy a decent fish tank along with all the other cash I have. Sighs* Oh, well. My birthday is coming up soon, so I still have hope. I am planning on getting a 10-20 gallon tank sometime soon. I think I might get some cory fish and possibly a few small schools of tetras.

My dad and mom are getting a 55 gallon saltwater tank this April, so I will probably be asking a lot of questions :3

Turns out Middy will not be getting a beta or anything else for awhile. My mom didn't talk to my step dad like she said she would. And so he said no when I brought it up. Said the only way was if I got rid of my rats. (Which would never happen. I mean I am socially awkward without my Baze. He's my unofficial ESA who I am working on making official)

Dang, I wish my Dad were that generous! I've had straight A's since Kindergarten. I love cories! I just wish I had room for another tank.

Welp, I did it. I sold most of my anacharis, a bit of java moss, and few water wisteria clippings. I'm $20 richer. X3 Within 4-5 months I'll be swamped by plants again.

I sold them through Craigslist. Quick and easy for me. ^^ I know what you mean! I don't throw out any plants - which is why I'm running out of space to keep planting them. XD

I don't ship, but I imagine it can get pretty costly. I just meet in person in a populated area with lots of other people in the immediate vicinity. c:

Hey guys ^^;

I haven't been here for a while; after my old fish died I didn't really have anything to post about, so I kinda proofed for a bit. x3

But my birthday is coming up, and I do have my goldfish's old tank in my room not getting any use, and I love fish still so I've been thinking about possibly getting something simple like a Betta or Guppy once I have the money? :3 I'd love some information on them though, along with what I can find online by myself. cx So anything would be helpful right now; whether it's small tips/information of Guppies or Betta, or other 'beginner' fish I could maybe look into getting. c:
