"I'm not denying her happiness, I'm protecting her innocence," Luke fumed.

Sarah shrank back, watching the two of them argue in silence. She didn't know what to do.

JJ sighed and looked at Sarah. He could't stay and argue and scare Sarah. "I'm leaving."

Luke glared at him. "Fine then."

Sarah whimpered and looked up at JJ. "Don't leave?"

"I'll only get you into trouble," he said. "I'll call."

"I'm coming with you," Sarah said decidedly. She shot a pointed glance to her father, then turned and walked out the front door. There was no way that she was going to let JJ leave just because of her father.

JJ looked at her then led her to his car.

Sarah walked out with him, angry at her dad. "He has no right to do that. We can do whatever we want! It's our relationship!"

JJ sat in his car after he opened the door for Sarah. "I wish we could run away."

Sarah slid into the passenger seat and looked over at him. "Run away?" she repeated, the words sounding strange on her tongue.

JJ looked over. "Yeah. Just leave so that we couldbdo whatever whenever."
