In one paragraph in The Golden Compass-by Philip Pullman, Lyra mentions that:
"It was such a strange tormenting feeling when your daemon was pulling at the link between you; part physical pain deep in the chest, part intense sadness and love. Everyone tested it when they were growing up: seeing how far they could pull apart, coming back with intense relief."- quote from the Golden Compass

Although daemon's are more apart of you (in this world) then in Lyra's I still ask:
Has anyone ever tested this pull? If so then did you feel what Lyra explains or nothing at all or something different entirely?

Just reading that at the time made me get shivers! And just to be annoying, Altair (my daemon) tested this theory by flying directly away from me. He got about 5 meters away before he came zooming back and cuddling me. My daemon and I both personally feel as Lyra and pan (and the people of her world) do!!

i used to feel it, but then i realized i was being silly and he can go as far away as he wants. i do, however, prefer him to stay close to me. it is nice to watch him glide around the sky every now and then though.

ahahhaha guys Phinx has settled <333

I know most of you don't believe in settling as such but to me it just means that I'm who I am. Sarophinx will still change -though rarely and nothing else is different.
He settled as an Osprey a couple of nights ago, I'm not going to share much more <3
He's so much happier and glossier and ahh I'm just happy ;u;

Oh and the question above ^^
Sarophinx and I don't really feel it. He does spend most of his time close to me though but when he flies away I'm not too distressed x'D

Congratulations on settling! I think Tos is pretty close to settling too. He doesn't really change that much from his binturong form. But aaaaah, I'm so happy for you two! :D

One time when I was in the car, I projected him outside of it as a falcon, just for the heck of it, but as the car accelerated and he got further and further away from me, I got the weirdest feeling in my chest. A bit like the pull, but not as strong. I had to project him sitting on my lap before it stopped. It's incredible what the mind can do sometimes.

When it happened I guess I just felt it, he was looking at me in his Osprey form and then perched in my lap (of course we were talking) and then I kinda just 'knew' it.
Its an amazing feeling though <3

Yeah, its pretty much like that for Altair and i too! Imagining the cord stretching and almost at breaking point and at the same time feeling that strange pang in your chest!

Hey, how many of you guys are on The Dæmon Forum? I love the site and I'm considering becoming active on it again, but I don't really have any friends on there or people I recognize. I've tried going on there a few times but I felt a little lonely and not totally a part of it so I went on hiatus.

That's awesome to hear! =) How often do you two talk? Chi and I talk everyday, we don't always have lengthy discussions (except at night, when I'm not busy) but he's always chatting with me throughout the day. It's nice to know I have a friend who's a daemian as well ;D
