Amberkit huddled up close to her brother. "This don't smell lie' Ash'lan..."

"Not a' all! Where's mo'her and fa'her?" Birchkit whimpered, feeling smaller than ever.

[Cradily]

"I dunno, but we gotta find 'em," Amberkit murmured quietly. She rested her tail on Birchkit's shoulders. "D-Don't worry. It'll be f-fine, I'm sure. Come 'ith me." She sniffed the air and set off in a random direction.

Birchkit sniffed the air. "Who 'as that cat who 'eft us 'ere?" He asked, his accent becoming stronger since he was getting more and more scared.

[Cradily]

Amberkit shook her head. "Dunno. 'E smelled weird though." She let out a sudden yelp when she tripped over a small stone on the ground and landed on her belly with a thud. "Ugh..." She stood up again, wobbling a bit, and shook out her head. "Mouse-dung!" She continued walking forward. "I 'ate this place. It stinks." She wrinkled her nose in disgust.

Birchkit nodded agreeingly. He walked next to Amberkit, letting her lean on him. "It'll be al'ight," he tried to assure her.

[Cradily]

"Yeh, yeh," Amberkit murmured, staring down at her paws. "Wha'ife we 'ere left 'ere on purpose though? Fa'her said Granddad was a loner...Wha'ife we was abandoned 'cause we're half-Clan?"

Birchkit sobbed.

[Cradily]

Amberkit flattened her ears against her skull. She hadn't meant to upset her brother. "I-I'm sorry. Look, uh...tha's pro'ly not what happened. I was jus' guessin', is all." But deep down inside, she still had her doubts, and it was all she could do not to break and down and cry as well.

"Let's go 'o wha' I think is the border." Birchkit mewed, walking towards the border.
