"Yeah, I know him," Chry shouted over to Amanda Lynn. "He's a really great guy, quite the gentleman too despite his socially awkward tendencies. It never ceases to amaze me that he's still single."
Amanda Lynn felt her heart attempt to leap out of her chest, but she put her hand over her chest, then removed it to go back to emptying one of the bags of popcorn into a bowl. He's single? She thought, feeling both amazed and very relieved.
"Yeah, he is a great guy, he helped me to unpack my things when I first moved here several weeks ago," she told Chry, intentionally avoiding saying anything about his relationship status. "Here's your popcorn."
"Thank you," Chry grabbed the bowl that Amanda Lynn offered her and immediately began eating from it. "That sounds just like Toothless," she spoke after swallowing some popcorn.
They laughed for awhile, but were soon interrupted when a knock came at the door, causing Amanda Lynn to fly to the door, briefly look through the peephole, then tided up her appearance before opening the door.
"Toothless, you're just in time," she said, smiling at him and giving him a friendly hug. "We're being joined by my new roommate, Chry, tonight. I don't know if you two have met, but I'll introduce you to her."
She led him to the living room where she then introduced him to Chry. "Toothless, this is Zyanya Chry Caldecott, though she prefers to be called Chry; and Chry, this is Toothless."
She watched as they shook hands, she felt oddly nervous about their meeting and yet, underneath that feeling of nervousness there was a sliver of another feeling, perhaps it was jealousy. Though why she might be feeling that, she didn't know, so she dismissed it.
"I think we've met a couple of times before, but it's nice to meet you officially," Chry said, smiling at him.
Toothless smiled back, "Same to you as well," he told her, then turned his attention to Amanda Lynn and smiled. "So what are we watching tonight then?"
"Tangled," Amanda Lynn informed him, blushing a bit. "I hope you don't mind."
"Not at all," he told her, smiling as he took a seat on the large couch. "I love Disney movies, they're up there with DreamWorks movies."
"Great, let me get the other two bowls of popcorn and the soda and I'll start the movie," Amanda Lynn said, smiling as she went to the kitchen to fetch said items, leaving Chry and Toothless alone in the living room.

Chry remained seated in the sofa, though she changed her sitting position to something more comfortable. She had been watching Amanda Lynn the whole time from when she went over to the door to when she introduced Toothless to her. A faint smile had curled on her lips, she had noticed several tell-tale somethings that had now led her to believe that Amanda Lynn liked Toothless far more than just a friend. She'd wait awhile to find out if her suspicions were true, but she'd definitely be speaking to Amanda about it later on. She didn't want to pry, but since she was going to be Amanda's new roommate, she needed to know if Amanda Lynn was planning on either bringing Toothless over to spend the night with her or if Amanda Lynn would be spending time over at Toothless's. She'd wait and ask Amanda Lynn questions later, probably when Toothless was gone and they were alone together. Then again, maybe she'd wait awhile longer to bring it up.

Amanda Lynn came back with two bowls of popcorn in hand, one of which she placed on the table and the other she handed to Toothless, giving him a brief smile.
"Thank you," he told her.
"You're welcome, and I'll be right back with the sodas," she said, promptly turning around and going back to the kitchen.
She came back with three sodas, she handed a can of Sprite to Chry, a can of Root Beer to Toothless, then placed a can of Root Beer for herself on the table.
"I didn't know what you'd like Chry, but I only had two Root Beers and two Sprites cooling in the fridge, if you'd like a warm Root Beer, I'll get that for you,"
"It's alright, I love Sprite, so it's fine, let's start the movie,"
"Okay," Amanda Lynn went over and grabbed the remote, sitting down next to Toothless on the couch. She pushed the play button, then grabbed her soda, pulling the tab to open the soda. Taking a swig out of it, she put it down on the table, grabbed the remote and pushed play again. The movie had started.
She lay back on the couch and Toothless moved his right arm to rest it atop the back of the couch while Amanda leaned back and relaxed into the couch.

"I had a great time as always Amanda, thanks for inviting me over,"
"You're welcome, it was my pleasure, as always," Amanda Lynn replied, giving Toothless a one armed hug. "I'll see you tomorrow, bye!"
Once the door was shut and enough time had elapsed, Chry reclined on the couch with a Cheshire cat grin on her face. "So..." she began, drawing it out as Amanda Lynn walked away from the door. "You and Toothless..."
"What about us?" Amanda Lynn asked, looking at Chry questioningly, not certain where she was going with this.
"You two are going out, right?"
"No, of course not, we're just...friends."
"Oh come on, you two totally like each other,"
"Yeah. As friends,"
"Oh you want to be more than friends, I can tell," Chry flashed a huge grin at Amanda.
"What, exactly, makes you say that?"
"Well, for one, when he came to the door, you tidied yourself up before opening the door."
"Well, yeah. I wanted to make sure I looked presentable."
"Come on, girls don't care if they're presentable or not if it's just a friend that they're disinterested in dating."
"Says who?"
"Says lots of people, it's a well known fact."
"Well, I don't have a crush on him, okay? We're just friends," Amanda Lynn was beginning to sound frustrated, Chry knew that she was hitting a chord.
"I never said anything about a crush," Chry pointed out, giggling before her mouth tilted into a smug half-smile.
"Oh, for goodness sake, just stop, we're just friends!" Amanda shouted. "Why do you care anyway?"
Chry shrugged, "Does there have to be a reason?" she asked, a smirk playing on the corners of her mouth.
Amanda rolled her eyes and have an exasperated sigh.
Chry continued to lounge on the sofa, wearing a huge smile again. She wasn't going to give up on this, she'd continue this at a later date.

Amanda Lynn was absolutely furious, why did she have to wind up with the super-observant roommate? Leaning with her back against the door, she slid down the door until she was sitting down, her hands cupping her face and shaking her head despairingly. It was true, all true, though she wouldn't admit it, not to herself and least of all not to Chry.
Heaving a heavy sigh, she got up and went over to her bed and flopped down on it. Looking up at the ceiling, she brought her right hand over to where her iPod Nano was plugged into the dock and stereo system and pushed the POWER button. Glumly, she flipped through it and couldn't find anything she was in the mood for, so she just set it to Shuffle All.
Unfortunately, the first song that it played was a love song, one of her favorites too. She sighed and rolled over so her back was to the system.
What am I going to do? She thought despairingly to herself, grabbing a stuffed animal of hers that she had packed along and hugging it tight. What am I going to do?

Toothless sat in his bedroom reading his copy of How To Train Your Dragon by Cressida Cowell, but he couldn't st still and his mind wouldn't keep quiet either. He couldn't stop thinking about Amanda Lynn...which seemed to be his usual problem since they met and became friends. He kept thinking about what he'd do the next time he got to spend time with her and thinking about numerous other things. He often spaced out when he was thinking about her and his friends and co-workers began to notice, they would make fun of him and joked around whenever he spaced out. They all knew the reason behind his behavior had to be because of a girl. One of his friends told him that he needed to stop mooning over the girl, whoever she was, and just ask her out already; the worst thing that she could say was no.
Toothless, however, knew that that was not the worst thing that she could say or do. If he asked her out, it'd make things between them awkward and it would probably ruin their relationship too. What was he thinking anyway? Guys like him just didn't get that lucky, girls like Amanda Lynn didn't go out with nerds like him, but he held onto the hope that maybe she would go out with him. That things weren't as hopeless as they seemed to be.
Maybe he'd find the courage someday to ask her out in a boyfriend-girlfriend sort of way, but it was doubtful to be anytime too soon.
Toothless found himself nodding off at some point during the night and found himself laying on his back on a blanket in the grass, he realized that his right hand was intertwined with someone else's hand, looking over he saw Amanda Lynn there beside him, smiling at him with a look in her eyes that expressed a fondness that went far beyond friendship. He smiled back at her and gently stroked her face.
"I love you," he told her.
"I love you too Toothless," she replied, giggling and smiling at him.
He leaned over to kiss her, only to find himself awake and kissing his pillow. Pulling away from his pillow he looked at it with sorrow. He was heartbroken and disappointed that it had all been a dream. He should have known it was all too good to be true, but he yearned for that to happen, to be real.
With a heavy sigh, he went back to sleep, a tear trickling down his face as he fell asleep.

Amanda Lynn was dancing around in a parking lot somewhere during a storm, she had a huge smile spread across her face as she twirled about with her eyes shut. When she stopped, she opened her eyes and found Toothless leaning up against his car, smiling at her. He got up and came over to her, wrapping his arms around her he planted a kiss to the top of her head.
She looked up at him and saw the affection in his gorgeous green eyes. "I love you Amanda," he told her, nuzzling her affectionately.
"I love you too," she told him nuzzling him back, gripping him tight, not wanting to let the moment end.
Tilting her head up in silent invitation of a kiss, it was accepted enthusiastically by Toothless and just as she was about to kiss him more...she found herself licking her pillow.
Reeling back in surprise, she looked at her pillow in horror, then looked over at her iPod Nano. It was playing Taylor Swift's song Fearless.
Well, I guess that explains part of the dream. She thought sullenly, sitting up she looked glumly at her bedroom door. It broke her heart to know that it wasn't real, she had so wanted it to be real. It felt real. More than that, it felt completely right.
She sighed, flopping back down on her pillow, frowning at her iPod. "I wish it had been real," she whispered to herself, a tear trickling down her face.

Amanda Lynn woke up and grudgingly trudged out of her bedroom and into the living room in her pajamas. She noticed a note on the table and went to go look at it bleary-eyed. "Amanda - Had to go to work, see you later. Toothless called to say he's coming by at some time. Have fun! ;3
- Chry"
Amanda glared at the note and pursed her lips in anger. If she hadn't formed such a great friendship with Chry, she'd have tossed her out of her apartment as soon as possible and made her live out in the hallway until Jenner could find Chry a new apartment to live in.
"I'm too nice for my own good," she grumbled to herself, shuffling over to the kitchen to make herself some breakfast. Just as she was opening the cupboard, a knock sounded on the door. Turning her head to look in the direction of the door, she cocked her head in curiosity.
I wonder who that could possibly be. She wondered, hurrying over to the door, not even thinking about what she was wearing. Briefly, she glanced through the peephole to see who it was and while her brain registered the person on the other side of the door as a friend, it didn't process who until she opened the door.
It was Toothless.
Amanda Lynn gasped, feeling unprepared to greet him. She was in her pajamas for crying out loud! She couldn't greet him like this! She had registered the expression on his face as one of shock.
"Um...sorry I'm not adequately dressed, I just got up," Amanda Lynn rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment.
Toothless laughed, "It's alright," he told her, "I can come back later, after you've had breakfast."
"No!" Amanda shouted, then promptly slapped her hand over her mouth. "Sorry, I mean, please stay, it won't take me very long. You can sit in the living room and watch TV or something."
She watched him anxiously, she felt weird, begging him to stay, but she didn't want him to leave.
"Alright, I'll stay and wait for you," he chuckled, giving her a hug. "I'll be in the living room watching TV, okay?"
"Sounds great!" Amanda Lynn beamed at him, then went over to the kitchen and began making herself breakfast.

Toothless turned the television on and flipped through the channels aimlessly, not certain what he was in the mood for...or if he was even really interested in watching anything. As he flipped through the channels, Amanda Lynn came over and sat next to him on the couch in her pajamas. She had in her hand a plate with some fresh pancakes on it with syrup.
He raised his brow and smiled at her. "Looks delicious," he told her.
"Mmhmm," she responded, taking a bite from the triangle of pancake that she had skewered with her fork, swallowing it after chewing she looked over at him. "So, what brings you here so early?"
"I just bought the movie, Frozen , I haven't seen it yet, but I was wondering if you'd like to watch it with me," Toothless asked, giving her a smile.
Amanda Lynn nodded her head emphatically, swallowing her mouthful of pancakes down. "I would love to Toothless!"
"Great! The tickets are for a three o'clock pm showing, so I'll come by to pick you up at two," he said, beaming at her as he got up off the couch.
"No!" Amanda Lynn stopped him, grabbing his wrist, then quickly released it, looking shocked and embarrassed by her own actions. "I mean, you can stay while I get ready, it won't take me that long and we can do something else together while we wait for 2 o'clock to roll around."
He chuckled, "Alright, I'll stay, if it makes you happy,"
"Thank you!" she beamed at him. "Sorry for grabbing your wrist. I don't know why I did that."
"It's alright,"
"If you say so," she laughed, then went to the kitchen to put her plate in the sink and then dash to her bedroom to change.

Amanda Lynn was giddy, she felt like she hadn't been to the movie theater in what seemed like ages. She didn't know what to wear. Something casual...probably. Maybe something that was pretty or elegant, yet still casual.
Do I even have anything like that? She wondered, scouring her closet for a shirt. She stopped when she came upon a violet short sleeved shirt that had an intricate design on the front of it which had been accented with small rhinestones, affixed to the shirt was a black vest-like thing that went at least two inches past the shirt.
This will do nicely. She took her pajama top off and slipped the shirt on, then went over to where she kept her pants and pulled out a pair of black jeans. Normally, she would never wear black jeans, she thought they were sort of...goth-ish. This particular pair, though, was different. She liked them because the pant legs were gorgeously bejeweled with glass beads and plastic sequins on it to look like paisley leaves climbing up her leg and ending just before the knees, there were also paisley leaves in sequins near the front pockets.
She slipped the pants on and looked in the mirror. Oh yeah, she was styling. She smiled with confidence and glee in the mirror as she looked at herself in it. She briefly contemplated what shoes she wanted to wear, then knew in an instant which ones she wanted to wear with this outfit. She went over to her closet and pulled out a fuchsia shoe box with a much darker fuchsia flip-top lid with a long black fabric rope handle. She took it over to her bed where she sat down and opened the lid, smiling at it's contents.
Inside was a gorgeous pair of silver 4-inch stiletto high-heel shoes with 1-inch wedges, with straps that buckled on the side. The top of the shoe had rhinestones mounted in metal clasps that were linked together to form a spiraling triple looped shape that Amanda Lynn could not put at name to, this design was sewn onto the silver leather straps. These gorgeous shoes had been her shoes for her Senior Ball, she really loved this pair of shoes because they were so pretty and they made her feel so...sexy. She smiled fondly at the memory of her Senior Ball before slipping her feet into her shoes and lifting the strap at the back of each hoe over each of her heels.
Standing up, she modeled her outfit in front of the mirror and smiled.
Perfect! She thought gleefully, grabbing her red alligator skin-looking polyvinyl Liz Clayborn purse and put her wallet inside it along with her iPod Nano, earbuds, and some other various things she though she might need. Then, she strutted over to her bedroom door, pausing to take a breath before opening it and going outside to face Toothless.

"Okay, I'm ready to go!" Toothless heard Amanda Lynn proclaim, he turned his head around to look at her and had to swallow really hard to prevent himself from going slack-jawed at the sight of her beauty. It just took his breath away, she took his breath away all the time. He wished they more than just friends so he could just go over to her, wrap his arms around her waist, give her a passionate kiss, then tell her that she looked absolutely stunning and he loved her.
"So, how do I look?"
"You look...amazing," he told her honestly, smiling at her. But then you always look amazing, he added mentally, not wanting to say it out loud because he didn't want to make things awkward...plus he didn't want Amanda Lynn to know that he was beginning to like her as far much more than just a friend.
Clearing his throat, he got up and smiled at her before heading over to the door and opening up for her. "Let's be on our way then,"
"Thank you," she smiled and dipped her head to him, making him smile.

Parking at the movie theater, Toothless got out of the car and opened the door to let Amanda Lynn out of the passenger side, closing the door behind her once she was out. They then hurried inside the theater, showed their tickets to the the person at the counter inside, who gave them their 3-D glasses, then they went to find the room their movie was playing in.
"This is it," Toothless exclaimed excitedly, grabbing Amanda Lynn and leading her inside. They sat side-by-side in a pair of good seats in the theater and started laughing breathlessly together.
"Well, we definitely made it in time," Amanda Lynn laughed, breaking open the plastic her 3-D glasses were packaged in, taking them out and putting them on. "Wow. This is new."
"What is?"
"I've never worn this type of 3-D glasses before, this is my first time," she admitted, taking them off.
"Ah," Toothless smiled at her. "Well these are different from the other kind, these aren't made to make the image pop out at you like it's touching you, these only make the images seem more...three dimensional...like you're in the same room with the characters. Does that make sense?"
"Yeah, I think it does," she nodded her head, putting the glasses back on, "thank you. I'm sure it'll make even more sense once the movie starts."
"Yeah, it will," he laughed, opening up his packaged glasses and put them on, just as the house lights began to dim, though the screen was still displaying ads.

I'm Sorry, I Just Had To. Frozen Made Me Do It

Postby Rabbitheart » Mon Mar 24, 2014 1:28 pm

Amanda Lynn and Toothless came out of the theater together laughing as they headed towards the parking lot. Amanda Lynn turned to Toothless and smiled at him, then began singing the song "Love Is An Open Door" from the movie in her exhilaration.
"Okay, can I just say something crazy?" She began.
"I love crazy," Toothless replied, joining in.
From there they began singing the rest of the song together with huge smiles on their faces as they walked back to Toothless's car, at the end of the song, when they reached the car and got inside, they started laughing.
"That was too much fun," Amanda admitted breathlessly. "I gotta go to the nearest store and buy the soundtrack to that movie."
"Agreed," Toothless agreed, turning the car on. "Tell you what, I'll drive you over to the nearest store right now and we can both buy the CD."
"You've got yourself a deal," she laughed, bringing her wallet out of her purse to make sure that she had money, smiling when she found that she did have enough.

➴ ❤➶

After going to the store and getting the album, Amanda Lynn opened up Toothless's copy and put the disc in the CD player of his car and they began signing along to the songs together, laughing and smiling together the whole way.
"Do you want to stop and get something to drink, to re-hydrate our vocal cords?" Toothless asked, giving Amanda a wry smile.
"Yeah," she laughed, "that sounds like a good idea."
"Okay, next stop is the Coffee Bean then," he said, pulling the car over to park on the side of the road where the shop was.
The shop was dimly lit and appeared to be closed, they looked at one another, deciding to get out and see if it really was closed. They could see the owner of the shop inside, she seemed distraught, clearly upset about something. She noticed them and came over to the door, opening it slightly.
"I'm sorry, I'm afraid the shop is closed right now," she informed them, sounding just as upset as she had seemed earlier.
"It's alright, Kiendra," Amanda Lynn told her, noticing her name badge. "We'll go and find somewhere else to get something to drink, we're terribly sorry for bothering you," She smiled briefly at Kiendra before turning around and heading back to Toothless's car.
"Wait," Kiendra exclaimed. "I suppose I could really quickly whip something up for you two to drink, what would you like?"
Toothless and Amanda Lynn exchanged looks for a brief moment, then told her "Hot chocolate, please," at almost the same time.
"Alright, I make those for you and you can pay me after I give them to you, it'll be..." she paused, looking at them, as if sizing up how much they can pay. "Uh...five dollars total."
"Okay," Amanda opened up her purse and dug out her wallet, getting the five dollars out. "Here you go."
"Thank you," Kiendra said, grabbing the dollar bill and dashing inside to whip up the two cups, put lids on them, ring up the purchase, then go back over to the doors and hand the cups to Amanda Lynn and Toothless.
"Thank you Kiendra, sorry again for bothering you," Amanda Lynn said, grabbing her cup.
"It's alright, you two have a great night," she told them, turning and going back inside.
"Well this was awfully nice of her," Toothless commented, grinning at Amanda as he gingerly took a sip of his hot chocolate.
"Yeah, it really was," Amanda laughed, smiling back at him as she took a sip of her hot chocolate too.

Amanda Lynn and Toothless came back to the apartment late that night, coming in through the door of Amanda Lynn's apartment talking and laughing together. They stopped short when they saw Chry lounging on the couch, looking right at them, a wicked gleam in her eyes and a gleeful smile plastered on her face when they stopped short.
"Had fun you two?" she asked, raising a brow at them.
"Yes we did," Amanda Lynn beamed at her. "We had loads of fun."
Toothless grinned and nodded his head, "Yup."
"You are so lucky to have such a great man, you know that, right Amanda?"
"What, you mean Toothless? How have I "got" Toothless?"
"Yeah," Toothless said, looking at Chry in confusion. "How has she "got" me?"
"In no way is he mine."
"No. No. I'm not hers."
Chry scoffed, "Oh come on! Seriously. It's got to be you two," she said, looking at them pointedly, but when she got nothing but blank looks from them she huffed and rolled her eyes. "Oh please, cut the freaking song, it's getting really boring."
"It's a nice thought though, okay? But it's completely impossible," Amanda told her, frustrated.
"Y-yeah. Impossible." Toothless glanced at Amanda Lynn in confusion, uncertain as to what she was going to say next as to why it was impossible for them to be together.
"Why?"
"I'd love to, I really would. He's gorgeous, and he's my favorite guy. But he's, you know - taken."
"Taken? I'm not taken," Toothless looked at her in confusion, wondering why she thought he had a girlfriend.
"You're not?" Amanda Lynn gasped, looking at him in shock.
"No, I'm not, why did you think that I was?"
"I-I-I don't know, I just...thought you were, I mean, the way you seemed to be making sure that we stayed just friends, I thought you might have someone else," she admitted, blushing, feeling really stupid and awkward now.
"I was only doing that because I thought you wouldn't be interested in a big nerd like me," Toothless couldn't believe he was saying this. "I mean, you're so gorgeous. I thought you wouldn't be interested in me like that."
Amanda Lynn felt breathless, she didn't know what to say, let alone what to do. "I-I-excuse me, I..need to got to my room, bye." She said, fleeing to her bedroom.
Toothless stared after her in shock, watching as the door shut behind her, then he looked over at Chry, who wore a smile like the Cheshire cat on her face. He scowled at her before turning to leave and go to his apartment.

Re: How To Write Music For Two: A JBD Love Story

Postby Rabbitheart » Mon Mar 24, 2014 6:42 pm

Amanda Lynn sat on the ground in front of her door, hands cupping her face as she cried. Oh my gosh, I can't believe he's actually single, she thought in amazement as she looked at the wall across from her. She felt this odd mixture of feelings swirling around inside her and it made her feel slightly sick, like her insides had run cold. It was a concoction of shock, amazement, desperate hope, complete and utter horror, and some other fifth or sixth thing she couldn't name.
Oh gosh, I can't believe this. He-he-he actually likes me? Oh my gosh. What am I going to do? She felt like curling up in a ball and just rocking back and forth. What was she going to do?
She forced herself to get off the ground, grab her new CD, pop it into her computer and begin importing it into her iTunes. When it was done she synced her iPod Nano so she could listen to it. When all those steps were completed, she ejected and disconnected her iPod and flopped onto her bed.
As she stared up at the ceiling, she plugged her ears in with the earbuds and listened to the first disc of the Deluxe Edition of the Frozen album on shuffle and repeat. Sighing heavily, she continued to stare at the ceiling while tears began to leak out from the corners of her eyes.
What am I going to do? She thought hopelessly as the tears trickled down the sides of her head. Now that he knows...should I go over to see him? Talk to him? Sighing heavily she rolled over to her left side and stared hopelessly at the door as the song "Fixer Upper" played on her iPod.
Maybe I should call one of my siblings, maybe they'll know what I should do, she considered this a bit more. Her sister Viola was probably very busy, she had her hands full with her two adorable children, Lute and Panelope; so she didn't want to disrupt her over her trivial issues. Maybe her brother Zimri...no, he was married and had a son too, Kain. She let out another big sigh. Her brother Brandon seemed to be the only one who didn't seem to have a wife and kids, but she hadn't heard from him in so long, who knew if that was still true?
Her mind was in turmoil from the tumult of thoughts that raced through her mind while her heart was in agony from the conflicting feelings. She felt like she was going to be sick to her stomach from it all.
She was re-considering the idea of going over to Toothless's apartment, knocking on his door, and telling him how she felt about him when the song changed to "Let It Go," which was well timed as it gave her the boost of confidence she needed to make up her mind. Resolving to do it, she sat up and wiped away the tears from her face, fixed her clothes, and take a deep breath in before standing up and getting out of her bedroom.
As she came out, Chry looked up from where she still lay on the couch and looked at Amanda Lynn. "What'cha doing?"
Amanda Lynn chose to ignore her and continued walking until she was out of her apartment and in the hall. She stopped at Toothless's door. Standing there, staring at it. She raised her hand to knock, but hesitated.
Dear gosh, what on earth am I doing? She realized, coming to her senses. Backing away from his door, she bumped into the wall behind her and she slid down it, sitting down, staring at the door in horror.
