Whats an Axis?

Axis are home to a planet known as "Axiem", they are created by an unknown force, to balance the planet and keep it safe from what comes... the planet has been safe for years now and the Axis have become more social with humans. Will an Axis come to you?

Ah... the first day of spring! Don't you just love how spring brings nice fresh air, melts the snow away and starts the blooming of new life and friendships?


This is a SPECIAL Axis.
No powers. Just a kind Axis who is sharing its body with a tree and his/her little companion.
(You will have one month to complete your forms for this Axis and his/her little companion Blue Jay. Careful! The bird bites!)

Axis Gender:
This little Axis is male. I just can't see him as any other gender.

Axis Name:
Inanani. This name is a variant of Kanani, which is a Hawaiian name meaning 'the beautiful one'.

Blue Jay name:
Azure

Bird Gender:
Female

Quick Personality:
Inanani is a colorful personality. He likes everything, but not everyone. Ina is extremely friendly, but can get standoffish at times.

Azure is loud, beautiful, vain and caring. Though she may get a bit caught up in her appearance at times, she is still friendly. Just don't get between her and her friends, otherwise you'll pay for it dearly.


One morning, the youngest of a trio of Axiem left home. Inanani was seeking better company, and perhaps a less judging companion. Having one 'sibling' was nice, but it got a bit cramped at times. Especially now that Keahi and Calapini getting interested in having other friends than just their younger 'brother.' Lost in his thoughts and lost in the woods, he tripped over an exposed root, knocking his head sharply against the ground. Ina lost track of time for a while. He woke to a small blue bird hovering over him and staring curiously at his green and brown patterns. Ina stared back, wondering why in the world a Blue Jay was staring at him. He cautiously rose, dislodging the bird from his chest. The bird lifted in flight and flew to the nearest tree. It twittered at him, telling him her name and where she was taking him. Of course, he didn't understand. He stared at her in confusion before the Jay condescended to pantimime. She flew to the next tree, obviously trying to get him to follow her. He did so.
Before long, the bird arrived at a small sequoia tree. The tree was sagging and looked grey and ill. Ina looked at it worriedly. "Is the tree ok?"
The bird gave him an evil look and shook its head as if it were obvious. It was, and Ina knew it. Of course, it was good to cover all your bases, just in case the tree just wasn't a very good looking specimen. Mournfully, the Jay squawked and landed on the ground next to the tree. It sagged even lower and appeared to be communing with the little blue bird. Decisively, the bird nodded before landing on Ina's back and gently pecked his rear. Ina jumped towards the tiny tree and stopped just before running into it. He felt compelled to touch his nose to the tree and did so.

His eyes opened to a bright beam of sunlight, and the little bird chirping at him. To Ina's shock and suprise, he could understand what the bird was saying.
"Wake up sillyhead. You've slept far too long. The sun's up and so should you." The bird squawked again, just to make her point.
Ina sighed and stood up, stretching carefully. "How long have I slept? Who are you? Why can I understand you?"
The Blue Jay smiled, or as near as a bird can. "You've slept for a sun and a dark. I'm Azure. The tree gave you the ability to understand any woodland creature." Azure looked at him carefully. "You had better not abuse that power. If you do, well, the consequences will not be good."
Inanani sighed and looked over at Azure. "I can't understand this. Why was I chosen? Why not some other Axis? Or even a bird?"
"You were chosen. That's why." Azure sounded snippy and annoyed at explain herself.
The young Axis nodded, filing that confusing bit of information away. "So, what else do I receive for getting chosen?" He was extremely curious. Who wouldn't be?
Azure looked over at the tree, which looked considerably better and it was a good three feet taller. "Well, by getting chosen, you agreed to host this tree."
"Wait, what am I doing?" Ina looked very puzzled. "What do you mean 'hosting the tree'?"
A soft sigh emanated around the clearing and Ina sighed as well. His vision blurred as a voice echoed in his head. "It means," a masculine voice breathed, "that I can be inside of you, use your eyes and ears to detect dangers to the forest." At this, he paused, seeming to chuckle. "I'm not saying that I am the guardian of the forest-- I'm a long ways from that-- but I do protect it. You, my son, will help me."
Ina looked at the tree. "I'm your son?" He was a very literal Axis,and he could never take a pun.
"He means that he's old enough to be your father." Azure replied, again a bit huffy.
The Axis looked the tree up and down several times. "You don't look old."
"Thank you."

Inanani walked home, a bird on his shoulder and a tree in his mind. He was more mature, older, and happier for his experience. In he strolled through his home clearing, and, the great, dignified male, tripped on over a branch and landed on his 'brother's' breakfast.
"Hey Ina!" Keahi looked at his 'brother' in wonder and shock. "You've got a bird on your shoulder. And it looks like there's a tree on your back."
Ina smiled mysteriously and get his mouth shut. Finally, he had a way to tormet Keahi and Calapini. "I'm not telling. Ask the tree your self."
Azure, not really liking Keahi, jumped to his shoulder and bit his nose.
