JJ nodded and kissed her head. "I know, Sar. I tried to get to you in time to stop him," he said and took her hand.

Sarah sighed. "I know you did. I...I heard you try to get through the door." She dropped her gaze to their clasped hands. "I'm sorry."

"It's not your fault," he said and rubbed her hand.

"I know," Sarah said quietly. She bit her lip and kept her gaze on their hands. "I just feel bad that you had to see that. See me...like that." If she'd had to have seen JJ in the state that he'd seen her in, she would have completely lost it.

"I know. I was freaking out, trust me," he said. "I just wanted you to be okay, you know? I would have given anything for that."

Sarah finally lifted her gaze to meet his. She sighed softly, her eyes searching his face. "You would have?" she asked. Her heart melted a little bit; she couldn't help it. Did he really mean it?

"Of course," he said. "In a heartbeat," he said.

Sarah smiled again weakly. "That's really sweet of you, Jayje." She paused. "Then again, I'd do the same for you." After a moment, she sighed again quietly. "Honestly, I'm glad it was me and not you."

JJ sighed and kissed her hand. "I'm not," he said. "I hate that you got hurt." He looked at her. "I'm just glad you're okay," he said.

Sarah managed a small smile. Her heart warmed, but she decided to change the subject. "Is anyone else here?"
