Image/Description: Cinderfrost has a short, dark grey fur. She also has frosty blue eyes. Her tail is longer than most cats' tails, though not unnaturally long. She is a small cat, giving her the appearance of being small and fearful, though she is far from it.
Name: Cinderfrost
Gender: Female
Clan: Changes with Roleplay
Rank: Usually an ambitious warrior who wishes for deputy, but sometimes deputy.
Personality/Skills: Cinderfrost is cold, quiet, and isn't a good conversationalist. She's a great tree climber due to her long tail, so her favorite prey to hunt is squirrel. Not many cats can get through to her, but if they do, she is fiercely loyal and protective. If she notices one thing off, she talks to you about it, due to fear of losing a friend.
Important Notes: Cinderfrost's parents both died in battle, and her younger siblings were too weak to survive. She used to be warm and vigilant, but she withdrew due to grief.
Ah, someone new! Hello.
Name Rating: 8/10
Name Type: Semi-traditional
Name Reasoning: Cinder- works just fine on a dark grey cat, so I don't need to pick on it. Her suffix is another story.
I assume that -frost alludes to her cold, quiet personality, which...isn't really something that's a compliment to be named for. My philosophy on suffixes is that they imply positive traits, and someone who doesn't really interact or get close to others would definitely not be named for that. Cats have to be social and willing to work with others to be in a Clan, after all.
However, she is a very good climber, so she's got a name-worthy skill!
Alternative Name: Cindertail. -tail represents an agile climber, and Cinder- works.
Character Rating: 7/10
Character Reasoning: I will always stress that death is a very regular part of Clan life. We've seen it all the time, and in a realistic sense, it would be expected that, just nursery wise, roughly half the kits born in a given Clan would not make it to adulthood due to diseases or general weakness (not-so-fun fact - real-world queens will actually
eat their kittens in times of great stress, though whether this affects the total number of kits in a Clan is your decision). Losing her parents at the same time would no doubts be tragic, and difficult to move on from for some time, but she will have to move on, which brings me to my second issue with her.
She has the familiar "stoic and cold but will die for those she cares about" trope with no other real personality. A cat that's distant is fine, but they should have other traits besides that - people are complex beyond the two most noticeable attributes. And this was caused by a loss of her parents; if every cat got all cold and refusing to get close to others after the death of a loved one we'd have to change the names to AngstClan.
My suggestion is to tone down the shift. She could be somewhat quiet and much more aware of her surroundings - depending on her age and how many lives were lost at the time of the battle, it could certainly make her more cautious of sneak attacks and more protective of her Clanmates. Add something else - perhaps she's interested in the strange and occult, examining everything new with a careful eye. Maybe she likes to cause a little trouble for fun, spreading a harmless rumor or playing tricks, especially on newer apprentices, but is very careful to not actually distress or hurt anyone. Or, she might just like to lay around all day in the sun, and has very vivid dreams that usually don't really make any sense.
Those are just a few examples!
