He smiled and rubbed her arm.

"Love you," Sarah murmured quietly, deciding that it was a good time to remind him.

"Love you too," he said.

Sarah smiled again to herself. "Isn't it weird how we've been best friends for so long, but this still came out of it?"

"I think it was always there," he said.

Sarah smiled and tilted her head to look up at him. "What, you mean like we've always been this way?"

"No. Like we both felt this way," he said. "But we suppressed it."

Sarah let that sink in, nodding slowly. "Honestly I think I've always felt like this for you. I just never in a million years thought you'd feel it back."

"I never thought either," he daid.

Sarah smiled. "Did you ever want it to happen? Or did you just never think about it?"
