{ I know that not everyone who reserved has put in their forms, but I think this would be a good time to start thinking about story line. How is this going to start out? //AKA; How is everyone going to meet each other? }
{ Thank you. I tend to worry about silly things like that when starting a RP that I don't own, so it's good to know you thought ahead. [ I've had some hard RP experiences. ] }
Name: Gareth Perry
Age: 17
Birthdate: August 19th
Gender: Male
DNA: 30% Bat, 70% Human
Orientation: Bi
Appearance:
Gareth is of average height and slender build. He is light for his size, however, and can be easily manhandled. His skin is pale and if exposed to enough sunlight would freckle before it tans. He has a permanent string of freckles running across the bridge of his nose and along both cheekbones. These make him look younger than he is, which he dislikes. He has light brown hair that is just short of falling into his eyes, though more by virtue of lack of trimming than any deliberate styling on his part. His eyes are near-black and his canines stick out a bit as if they started coming in over top of his baby teeth before the latter fell out.
Personality:
While Gareth remembers being a bit of a loner before, he's found himself craving more social interaction since the experimentation. He tends to be a bit introspective, but is still happiest when he has something constructive to do. While he's no longer sure of the details, he has the sense that uncertainty is familiar to him, so his attitude towards the whole "waking up part animal without my consent" thing bothers him less than you might expect. Opposite that, he reacts poorly when bored.
DNA-based modifications:
Gareth is completely colorblind, meaning he sees only in greyscale. He has better than average night vision though.
While his mutations did not grant him the ability to fly (which, really, he's fine with, as he's grown rather fond of having hands) it did impact his skeletal system, which is lighter and more fragile than that of a normal human. His new physiology will lend itself to dexterity with practice.
He has acquired the bat's ability to detect changes in the weather by atmospheric pressure and the ability to determine his location based on the planet's magnetic field. However, the presence of artificial magnetic fields scrambles this location sense.
Perhaps the most obvious is his ability to echolocate, complete with bat-like ears (which also contain the organ for detecting atmospheric pressure). However, until he learns to cope with the additional input, he is easily overwhelmed and especially so by loud or continuous noises.
He has also acquired an alarming affection for grilled crickets, among other insect-related foods.
