Luke, on the other side of his wife, took Kris's hand and squeezed it gently. He glanced at her and nodded once to let her know that he was there for her.

Sarah glanced over at JJ and exhaled slowly. At least he was here. The knowledge of his presence calmed her a bit. She offered him a half-hearted smile.

JJ took her hand, and rubbed her thumb. He hiped she'd be okay.

Sarah squeezed his hand gently. She said nothing, but she was somewhat dreading the procession. She didn't know how she'd react to seeing Alanna in a casket.

Luke took his hand from hers and instead wrapped his arm around her shoulders. He kissed her head.

Sarah took a deep breath and looked up at JJ. She squeezed his hand again. "I don't know about this," she whispered to him nervously.

Luke held her close to his side. "It's okay," he whispered.
