[The Fray]

Hawktalon nodded in silent agreement, "Yes, do you think its Starclan that set his paws on that path?" He asked out loud. His expression turned from relaxed to alarmed as he heard the sound coming into the clearing. He opened his mouth to let the scent hit him. "What is that?" he growled. He unsheathed his claws, ready for a fight.

[~Firewolf~]

Maplestar closed her eyes, trying to lock on to the scent to see if she recognized it. Her eyes tightened, then suddenly flashed open in alarm. "Badgers." She whispered, taking an automatic step back. A few years before, a badger had broken into clan territory and tried to kill a whole litter of unsuspecting kits. Instead, it claimed two brave warriors. Maplestar shot a panicked look towards Hawktalon. "Time to go, I think."

[The Fray]

Hawktalon growled, "Wont our scent lead them strait to camp? If they follow us, that is." His heart pounded at the thought of a fight, also what if the badger took one of Maplestars lives, one step closer to being leader. Shaking his head of the thought guiltily he looked at her expectantly. "What do we do?"

Creek Flower

She was still laughing and cackling to herself then saw another vision in the meadow.
Beyond a certain part of the meadow, her kits, Shallow-Kit and Fallen-Kit were skipping around Creek-flower in joy.
"Mother! Mother! Shallow-kit's got my tail!" Fallenkit meowed bitterly, swatting his paws at Shallow-kit.
"Oh my dears,.. Calm down, your father will be here soon," Creek-Flower had meowed. the vision suddenly flickered from her sight, and she noticed she was talking to a bush.
"Uh- Just practicing?" She tried to convince Maplestar and Hawktalon.
After she had sighed and hunted with them for a while, she had cackled oncemore, but then she scented an unusual scent. But one she knew.
"B-b-Badger!!!!!"

she shrieked, frantically trying to scramble up a beech tree, but failing.

He'd brought up a point she'd neglected to see, and immediately her resolve steeled. "Oh, it'll follow us all right. I'm sorry Hawktalon, Creek Flower." Her voice was sorrowful and absolute. "But you're right. We can't risk leading it - or them - to the others. The risk is too great." Maplestar took in a deep breath as a streak of black and white flashed from the bushes and moved towards the three cats. "We'll have to fight. But if push comes to shove-" The creature's dark eyes glared at its prey greedily, and Maplestar steadied herself. "Both of you run. Don't wait for me, don't fight for me, just go. Warn the others. I'll hold it off for as long as I can. Promise me." The badger snarled and charged, and another followed close behind.

[The Fray]

Hawktalon nodded, "Ill be back quicker then you can say 'mouse'. Lets go Creekflower" he began running to the camp at full speed, ready to warn them of the danger. His claws were itching for a fight but he had to get the older she cat home safely before he could do any fighting.

"No Maplestar, I'm on my last stretch of life, I might as well help you, if I die it's been a good 98 moons!" she meowed, hissing at the badger that charged at them.
She ignored Hawktalon, and charged at the badger.
Bitterly, she gathered up all her leftover strength, then shoved her unsheathed claws into the beady badger's eyes, and dragged them downwards. The badger roared in anger, and backed up on its back legs. Responding quickly, her swift, agile fighting skills backed Creek-flower up. "Take that!" She yowled, before using the badger defense, which was leaping over the badger, turning swiftly, biting its paw, and managing to claw it's side on the way.
Right after that had happened, she was cuffed on the side harshly by the badger's left paw, and was thrown across the meadow, blood streaking after her.

Hawktalon hissed through gritted teeth and grabbed he scruff. "You mouse-brian!" He dragged her to a overgrown bush and shoved her under it. "Stay there!". He whipped around and prepared to attack the badger. He leapt and landed on its back. He clawed at its matted fur and growled as his claws kept getting tangled. He wasn't quick enough as it turned its head and gripped his paw and chomped down hard.

Fallen-Fire perked his ears at the battle cries on the other side of the trees where he was hunting.
"Hold on, I'm coming!" He yowled a battle cry and fought beside Creek-Flower and Maple-star.
"Mother!" he shrieked, realizing she was lying in the meadow, not moving a bit.
"Mouse-brained badger!" He huffed as one of the badgers ran off, leaving one more badger to fight off.
"Take this!" He shrieked, clawing the badger's ears and eyes, cutting them and stripping them of their ambitious look.
Hmph.
He struck again with his foreleg and his front paw, shoving the badger sideways, it rolling over.
"Got ya!" he hissed bitterly, striking with his teeth and locked his jaws on it's windpipe, letting it yowl and panic, yet Fallenfire didn't let go.
" I'll help you, Hawktalon!" He meowed triumphantly, locking his claws into the badger's muzzle, making it let go of Hawktalon's paw.
"Run, I've got this!" He snarled at the badger, defending his clanmates.

Specklepaw was still half asleep in the warm clearing, sighing each breath she took.
She began coughing brutally, and tried to breath through them.
"Yuck." she spat out a maggot full of prey.
