And I guessed correct mwahahhahahhaIt's probably a German Short hair, but it looks like my English Pointer, Trajan!

Pointer, imo.. German Shorthairs have a liver base with white ticking, not white base with liver ticking.
Either way, a really handsome looking horse!
Can't post mine.. late growing. =\ Someone else will have to do it.

Some German Shorthairs have that mostly-white look with a smaller amount of ticking on it, but it's also a common look in English Pointers, and markings-wise the two can look almost identical if the English Pointer is liver. :3
German Shorthair puppy English Pointer puppyMy first thought was English Pointer when I saw the horse, since the GSP does tend to be darker with heavier ticking while the English is the one more likely to have a mostly-white base like the horse's, but really it could easily be either.

I was just thinking to myself last night I'd love to see a horse with a Shorthair's markings. Didn't think it would actually happen though. Soooo happy ^_^
This horse looks like my German Shorthair, Jager

He's gotta be one of my favorites just because of his pattern.

The markings on this horse closely resemble a friend of mine's german shorthaired pointer, so really it could go any way.
A white base is a fault for the GSP

That horse is clearly white based. Thus my belief it's a Pointer. Could be wrong, of course.. it's pixels so I can't check the skin color. *laughs*
Edit to clarify: I am aware ticking genetically works the same. But the base color and ticking color are not the same. A dog who possesses ticking can have a dark base with light ticking, or a light base with dark ticking. Pointers are white with dark ticking. English setters are white with dark or lemon ticking. GSP are dark with light ticking. Etc.

Don't think so. My last 4 grew into the pointer. I kinda hoped for a Husky horse, but pointers are cool too!!

I dunno where you got your information but neither the AKC nor UKC says anything about a white base being a fault. Jager's always looked white with liver freckles to me and he's from purebred hunting lines. I just looked back over his pedigree in fact and his great grand sire and great grand dam and all of their listed pups were called Liver and White with no mention of ticking or roan until about two generations of breeding further on. *shrugs* Who cares. This is going to turn into another debate like we had over the Pointed Dogs a few weeks back. He's gorgeous either way ^-^ The horse I mean. My doggie's awesome too but that's why I love this horse.
