What is a Demon Pony?

A demon pony is an odd occurrence indeed. It is when a demon forms a contract with a pony and bonds to it.
These contracts can only be broken with consent from both parties. The representation of this bond is in the form of jewelry or some other accessory which holds the power of their contract. An example of this is a necklace or accessory of some sort.

If a contract is broken the demon separates from its host pony and loses its power.
These contracts are often very beneficial to each other though, the demon is given a source of energy and security from the pony and in return the pony is given magical abilities concerning the demon's element. Demons are bonded to a pony through their tail and take on the shape of their base element. However, sometimes a demon may bond directly to the pony with no visual representation. These demon ponies are called Shar.


Very rarely do demons take on a pony form without a host. A rare example of this is Princess Raza the Fire Demon who has enough energy and powers to shift into a pony independently. She rules over the elemental demon ponies, and is responsible for spells that affect Demon Ponies, like a No Age spell for young demons or a Contract Breaker to break a demon pony's contract.


Demon pony hosts often live much longer than normal ponies; they can live to be 500+ years old with assistance from their demon.

This guy is a Night Demon Pony! His Demon is a paler version of the moon from Soul Eater. His contract is bonded through his necklace and his bracelet; the demon has several power stones resembling stars scattered through his tail that help absorb energy.

Gale's Talent is that he is a fantastic singer, hence his name referring to a bird with a beautiful voice. he is the kind of guy that has that lower voice that really steels your heart and mind. he is into the heavy mettle however he is not the death mettle kind of guy. He loves wooing the ladies with his spectacular voice and heart melting lyrics. When he is alone he writes his own songs and sings quietly to himself. it also keeps him calm and collected. You can almost say he sounds like Drake(the singer)...


Gale's favourite thing about stars is their distant yet eternal presence. he himself likes to watch the world around him pass by and with the attachment to his demon he can also live a long time like the stars. he is always captivated by their distance, he wonders what it is like to float above the world in a blanket of clouds and look down at the world with such bright eyes. He always envied their 'immortality' so to speak, their long lived lives and purity. that was until he learned that the light he see's in the sky is stars that have already come and gone. this makes him feel connected to the past present and future. yes he is kind of a very serene individual.

I decided to go with the name 'Equinox' because that was what I immediately thought of when I saw his design and the word it's self makes a fitting name. It also flows well with his talent as an Equinox is the time at which the sun crosses the celestial equator, when day and night are of equal length.

Chronology / Astronomy
Chronology is the science of arranging events in their order of occurrence in time and Astronomy is the study of celestial objects. His talent is a combination of these things. He watches, dates, and records happenings in the sky above with great skill and detail to the point that he can tell you what star is which and where it might be a month from now. With the contract in place his talent has grown stronger with the demon's magic. Now he can tell when a new star is 'born' where it is in the sky above, he can now tell where blackholes happen, all of this the instant it happens, to which he dutifully records it creating large and vast, wonderful starmaps of the sky.

» Sᴛᴀʀs «
His favorite thing about the stars is that he himself and everyone around him is essentially made of stars. Of course not literally but the theory is that after the big bang planets were formed from left over starbits from destroyed stars, eventually life forming on said planets, life having key components in it that stars have. This absolutely fascinates him along with how small in comparison he is, how miniscule he and everything around him is, how something so large and destructive as a star created tiny bits of fragile life.

» Pᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ «
Equinox is first and foremost calm. He is an incredibly intelligent and insightful Demon Pony. He is this way mainly do to the amount of time he spends alone in solitude. Being awake at times when most every other pony is asleep gives him plenty of peace and free time to which he has dedicated to studying the night sky and reading. He is able to think of solutions to most problems that might vex him or those he calls friend. He has high-standards for his self and likes to keep his self-image worthy and reputable. Because of this he can at times appear to be rigid or cold. He absolutely dislikes messes and his home is kept nice and organized as he has a case of OCD. Everything has it's place and it will remain there. Not only does he have high-standards for his self but for those he calls friends and those he looks up to. He is honest, to a degree that comes off as brutally blunt but he doesn't mean to be, that's just how he is. Lies are no good, they get in the way and are ridiculous to keep track of. He rarely offers praise even when it's to something he likes or approves of, not being one to speak how he feels about something unless confronted about it and then, once again, he will be whole-heartedly honest about the subject. He at times normally comes off as stuck-up and antisocial though he really isn't, he simply enjoys intelligent and meaningful conversation than meaningless 'beat around the bush' and small talk sort of conversations. He struggles trying to see things outside of his own perspective, visualizing his self in another's hooves is something that he's always had issues with. He is confident in his own abilities but not in an over-bearing cocky way. Overall, Equinox can come off as snide but truly deep down he is kind and caring, you just have to coax such things from him a little bit. Just like one would coax a fire to life. Once he warms up to you he becomes a true and loyal companion.

It started out with a simple crush. There was a mare, just out of Equinox's reach, her name was Lily Breeze and her talent was a beautiful voice. Her singing entranced absolutely everypony, including Equinox. Young still and foolish Equinox wished to impress her. He wanted to be her special somepony. The competition to win her heart was fierce though and Equinox felt as though he'd never find a way to do so. He spent many days and long nights, watching the skies and debating on how to woo her. He held conversations with his self, trying to plan the perfect way to approach her. Then one day she noticed him. It was as all things usually are, coincidence. She had fallen and he had rushed forwards catching her and saving her from harm. Of course, this made every other colt jealous that her attention was now focused on this socially akward pony but Equinox paid it no mind. The two talked and became close. They spent their time together, nopony thought such a thing could happen, they were both so very different from each other, but again, that's just how most things work. Finally Equinox decided to do it, to ask her to be his special somepony and like before he was outside, staring up at the sky in thought over this when he saw something odd shimmer across the sky and land a distance away. His natural reaction was to investigate, somepony might have gotten hurt, this thought was silly though being the time of night that it was. Once he reached the crash site he found the oddest thing. The demon. He couldn't figure out at first what to make of it but they talked. Equinox wary and uncertain but then the subject of his crush was brought up. The demon telling him of ways to wow her and how it could help. Equinox eagerly agreed and they bonded. They didn't just bond over anything either. They bonded over the jewlery that Equinox planned to present to Lily Breeze. After their binding Equinox, feeling more confident than ever went home. He had changed he noticed. His tail now... odd, almost like smoke. His mane had lightened a bit and of course, there was the demon which Equinox had taken to calling it 'Astra'. The next day he went to meet with Lily Breeze but upon seeing him she was horrified and asked what had happened to him. He explained and she shook her head in fear. She spoke that he didn't need to change in such a way to win her over. She would have rather he'd stayed the same. She was scared and he could see it in her eyes and it saddened him. She left, turned and fled, leaving him alone with Astra. Word spread fast and other ponies came to stare at the new spectacle while others, too fearful of this new thing sought to drive him out. So Equinox left his hometown, seeking a new place with Astra, his only friend left. They had grown close quickly. Equinox found a new home, moving in when mostly everypony was asleep and wouldn't see him. He normally doesn't leave his home except for at night though occasionally now and then you may see him during the day, out because he is in need of some sort of supplies.

Name: Erebus, otherwise known as the Greek god of darkness.
Gender: Quite obviously, he is a male.
What is his talent?: Prior to when his contact was formed, he was an astronomer, studying star patterns and constellations. However, once he was bound with his demon, his talent grew into a sort of power in which he could control the stars rather than just gaze upon them. Also, he now has the ability to create new stars, but that requires an extreme amount of energy which he is rarely able to generate.
Favorite thing about the stars: Without the stars to light the way, the night would be so dull with only the dim glow of the moon to bring light. In a way, the stars are the moon's inferiors. Assisting him is bringing beauty to the land when the sun has set. Erebus can conclude from that reasoning that his favorite thing about the stars would be the way they glow. Whenever he begins to feel lonely or empty on the inside, all he has to do is wait for the sun to die, and lift his head to the stars.
Personality; Erebus has a rather serious persona in which he can be a tad bit intimidating. He is also very defensive, and won't back down from an argument. Even if it's obvious that he's wrong. He despises anything without an obvious answer, and often wastes time trying to figure out certain things that just don't have reasons for happening. In his mind, everything needs to make sense, or he'll launch into a panic and begin rambling on pointlessly until somepony snaps him out of it. Because of this, he can be a bit socially awkward, and it's hard for him to make friends. He simply doesn't understand the point in placing all of your trust in the hands of somepony else who could just as easily break it. Hesitance is a common trait of him, for he needs to know all of the details before making a decision. When trying to decide on something, he talks to himself which is always an interesting sight to see. To most, he's a complete weirdo, and to others he's a stuck-up, anti-social stallion. It all depends on how you view his habits, whether good, bad, or just plain unusual.

History between him and his demon: At first, the two seemed to get along well, bonding over their love of the night and arranging constellations. However, soon after the first week of their contract, they began to realize they weren't as compatible as they originally thought. Erebus was a socially awkward and formal stallion while Nox was a demonic trickster. Clearly, that combination could only be heading in one direction, disaster. Erebus was the first to speak on the matter and proposed that the contract be revoked and the two go their separate ways. Although Nox wanted more than anything to ditch his stuck-up host, he needed the protection and therefore declined the request to depart. Erebus was quite angered by this, but soon came to enjoy the company of Nox. Even though he was rude and arrogant, he still helped Erebus greatly and proved to be tremendously useful. Both parties since then have had a sort of love-hate relationship. Of course, they have many disputes and hardly ever agree, but in the end they both need eachother. And neither one of them regret forming the contract.

Midnight is a cool kind of pony, he is relaxed, but can become stressed quickly at silly things that seem important to him. He is Good at dealing with tough situations, but he cant stand breaking the rules or being around others who have, he has a strong sense of justice, he has always wanted to join the royal guard but hasnt gotten the courage to try, so he works hard at every thing he does, trying to strengthen his wings.

You find a book on the ground and pick it up, its a leather bound book, and as you undo the latch something falls out on to the ground, it is a small star, you ponder what it is doing in a book so you flip the book open to the first page and start reading
Dear reader, I have written this book in hopes that I am free of my Charge of Theft of the Star Necklace that is owned by Princesses Luna. I Will recount me tale in hopes that you can help me cause.
I was a normal Stallion Pegasus who lived in canterlot, I stuck to the shadows and preferred flying at night versus day time flying, it was my Talent, I was one of the best night time flyers in Eqestrea. I was Friends with few ponys but I wasn't mean of any thing, it was just I preferred to be alone, I did have one friend tho, he is a Unicorn named Victor, we were great friends since kindergarten. Well let us get to the tale now.
I walked down the streets, it was late and dark but I didn't mind, I was headed for a cafe that was open at night, victor asked me to meet him there, I flew swiftly down the Empty streets and almost slammed in to him, I manged to land on the ground before I hit him, "woah Didn't See you," I smirked as I shifted from hoof to hoof, victor laughed at that
"one of the best night time Flyers and you couldn't see me at night," he mocked, I huffed and headed in to the cafe

with him beside me. We sat down at the table we always sat at, I sat across from him facing the door, and Victor looked uneasy, like something was wrong, I didn't ask him because it wasn't my business, but I Couldn't hold back "Whats the Problem" I asked in a low voice, and Victors head snaped to look at me "nothing" he said in a stern voice, now I knew something was wrong, Victor never snaped at any one, and never me. I looked at her with Eager eyes to find what he is hiding but Victor didnt budge, he just glared back, the waiter came over and asked us what we wanted and that snaped us out of it, my head turned to look at her "a Strawberry Smoothie please" I ordered with the wanting urge to say and a Friend who tells me what is wrong, Victor nodded "ditto" he said and looked at the table, as the lady walked away I huffed and looked at Victor "what is it" I demanded and he glared at me like he wanted to kill me, "Fine! you win" he growled then looked around carefully "me and some other unicorns are going to Steal the Star Necklace set, Since Princesses Luna inst Here and is on the moon Its free for the grabbing" he said in a deadly silent tone "and we need a Pegasus who can get us in," he said and waited to let that sink in,

It was hard for me to swallow that, My Best Friend, My Best friend Victor of all ponys, was a Thief....that didn't seem right, he wasn't the mean type, he wouldn't even steal a candy let a lone a Necklace made with real stars, which wasn't just a necklace, it was a whole set, necklace, Bracelets, Even some for your mane and tail. Was he going to steal it all? I must have thought about it for some time because the waiter soon came back and I took a drink of the smoothie, and I pause looking at the table, Victor scowled "I shouldn't have told you" he scowled "now you are going to stop us" he glared at me and I look up "no I wont stop you, but I am not going to help you either, before or after"I hiss and drank the smoothie up and paid for it quickly and left, I went flying out in to the night sky, I headed for the grassy plain where I went when I felt bad, I laid down and went to sleep.

I woke up with a Jolt and a Sharp metal pain in my side and I stood up quickly, to find my self face to face with the Royal guard,

I backed up quickly and ran in to another sharp blade, I turn around to find my self surrounded, I frowned why was I surrounded by Royal guard. I panicked and flared out my wings and the guard that had poked me to Begin with, spoke up and said "You, Midnight Ire, are Here By Arested for The Theft of the Star Necklace set owned and made by Princess Luna" He said in his Stern guard voice, I looked around with a frown "but I-" I stop and look down to see the necklace around my Neck and the Braclets around my hoof, I look at my wings which had a star hung on it and some where in my tail, I frown, "I Didnt Steal them! I have bee-" I started and got cut off by the guard behind me "You have the right to remain silent, You are coming with us, Where you will be given trial" he said and the circle opened up and the shoved me, pushing me back to the castle, It took a while but soon I was alone, inside the cell. The next few days where kinda a blur, Trials and Court, I told them my story but none of them believed me, They had brought in victor who claimed to have no idea. Later on after the court victor visited me in the cell "so THIEF, I Hear that you will be killed for your crimes" he sneered and I huffed in annoyance "You Did it, so why Blame it on me" I demanded and he laughed "I Did nothing, just i am not helping you" he said mocking me as he left.

I sat alone in the cold cell, I was not guilty, I didnt do it, I chanted over in my head, I needed to get out of here and prove my innocence, I decided.....
-a large part of the journal was blurred out like the pony decided other wise-

the Demon accepted the contract and went flying at me as I passed out, I Felt power surging threw me, I Felt immortal, the power of the demon was stronger then any thing I have ever felt before, when I awoke it was almost dawn,

I got up quickly but was a bit off set when I looked at my tail, which had grow out longer, and sitting in it was the demon, which had taken the shape of a creepy moon, I could hear the guard snoring and I smiled happily, I used my tail and the demon assisted me at getting the keys, I used the keys and got out of the castle, I went thundering down the halls, the guards in my pursuit, I soon reached the doors and flew off.

After that its just what you would expect, I have been running, and now I have written this in hopes that I can be freed and aloud to go home.
