angus looked over at finn when he mentioned having to say hello to a few other friends, and nodded in understanding, although he wasn't sure how successful the boy would be at finding anyone in this crowd. the song switched to something even louder, and angus found it extremely difficult to hear anything robin was saying. although he liked playing really loud music in his car and through his headphones, angus began to worry for the health of his eardrums. he imagined that it would be very hard to learn to read lips.
when robin laughed at his comment about the size of the party, he turned slightly red. "er... a few months," he said, more to himself than to her. all summer he had been working at the mechanics, and occasionally would go out with his cousins, who had got him a fake id. but other than that, there really was no partying. summer could be weird like that- there was an 'end of school' party in which the cops usually showed up and split up (even though they were always huge), and then for the next three months, there would be hardly anything happening, because of vacation, and the beach, and everything else. or maybe that was just one of angus' sentiments. perhaps there were actually parties galore in the summertime, and angus just wasn't ever invited.
the brunette was a bit caught up in his own musings when robin suggested one of his infamous 'ideas' and grabbed his arm, pulling him through the crowd. "what about your drink?" he yelled through the crowd, but the sound was deafening, and angus decided to let it go. once they broke through the large crowd, angus was feeling a bit too hot for his liking. luckily, though, robin had led them straight to the backyard, that was nearly empty. the night air was relaxing and a strong contrast from the sweaty group inside.
it was surprising to angus when robin pushed a chair on top of a table, and scaled them to reach the roof of the house. well, he wasn't that surprised, knowing robin. he laughed, and peered up at her. "join me if you dare," she said, and angus shook his head, still grinning like the sight was completely ridiculous. however, his childish side got the best of him, and he climbed up to the roof using the table and chair robin had set up, although it was a little harder for him to climb, as he was actually quite clumsy, and almost fell off twice. once he had reached the top, angus sat down on the roof's ledge. "be careful," angus said to the blonde. the house seemed to be shaking under them, and angus didn't want robin to fall off and hurt herself. "i admit with a heavy heart that you're a little bit of a better climber than i am," he leaned back, laying down on the roof and staring up at the dark night sky, with the tiny silver stars that winked at the two of them. "where do you get all these crazy ideas? climbing roofs, breaking things; you're pretty hardcore." angus joked.
