❝ VIC MALDONADO
-- -- -- ' A PIRATE FLAG & AN ISLAND GIRL -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- --
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
//////////with his insides feeling as though they had been hammered down to little more than dust, vic found standing, a once natural act, a clumsy, near-impossible task. before he was able to make an utter fool of himself and eat sand for the second time, an empty hand was waved in his face, offering assistance. pride had vic ready to refuse and shove it away before the dull ache of his head had him resigning to accept the help offered. vic's pale grey eyes glanced upwards, somewhat relieved to find it was hudson offering a hand. he did not mind the younger cabin-boy, finding his boldness respectable and his extroverted nature refreshing compared to the more 'troubled' personalities of the other crew members, though vic himself was in no position to judge the temperaments of others. with a rather stubborn sigh that said he would have been able to accomplish the task of standing himself if he was which way inclined, vic gripped hudson's open hand, muscles tensing as he used the support to pull him to an up-right position. he stumbled forward, steadying himself by grasping on to his friend's shoulder. "thanks," he muttered, voice gruff with the the sea salt and sand which was caught in his throat. "good to see you survived," he chuckled lightly, coughing away the roughness of his throat as he clapped the boy on the back, able to support himself on his own two feet now.
//////////once again vic's attention was drawn by the conversation higher up the beach, where the tone seemed to be more confrontational than passive. the dark-haired adult glanced across to hudson before back up to the collection of people, making his way slowly up to their sides in time to catch the demanding question of one of the blonde-haired women. "vic, hudson," he answered with a lack of enthusiasm, motioning to first him and then the lighter-haired boy, taken aback by her generally defensive and unwelcoming stance. you would assume a group of injured, stranded men would be greeted with some akin to civility, possibly aid at the very least. "it's a pleasure to be stranded with such charming women," he mumbled dryly, voice dripping with sarcasm.

TATE RUSSEL
LOST IN THE CITY OF GOLD
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
xxxxxThe first thing Tate felt when he regained consciousness was an overwhelming sense of dizziness. His mind was at a loss as to what specifically happened recently, but he knew it was nothing good. One moment he had been lazily reading a book on the ship, the next he was being thrown about in a storm. Now he realized, he was on dry land. The warm grains of sand surrounded him, warming his entire body. It was clearly obvious that they had shipwrecked upon the island - wherever that may be. For a moment the blond kept his eyes shut before straining to try and pick up on any surroundings. It was unlike anything he had ever seen before - only in the movies. The skies were so blue and clear, everything looked so alive. A new sight for him, having grown up in the crowded cities. Now he was beginning to understand why people moved to islands. They were gorgeous.
xxxxxThe nineteen year old was keen on getting up as quickly as possible, but that was stopped shortly after the thought occurred. Pain shot up through his left arm, causing him to bite back a few curse words. Reluctantly he looked to the source of the pain, cringing slightly at the sight. Upon impact of the crash, a metal piece from the boat had managed to slice a deep cut in his arm. From his shoulder down to his wrist. The majority of it had stopped bleeding some time while he'd been unconscious, but it still hurt like crazy. He'd need to clean it up shortly, otherwise it would be at risk of getting infected. The last thing he wanted to do was loose a limb, or worse. The remaining cuts and scrapes on his body weren't too severe, it was just that one major one that was causing him issues. "That's unfortunate." He muttered to himself, glancing to the limb before getting to his feet. It hurt, but he'd survive. Hopefully. With his mind no longer focused on his injuries, Tate was able to spot his fellow sailors - speaking to some unfamiliar females. What on Earth was going on? As he joined the group, confusion was written on his face. "I'm Tate." The boy spoke, nodding slightly. Who were these girls?

[[ cressida's just a little *ahem* female domesticated canine sadist, isn't she? she acts like me ehehe ]]
cressida revises her thoughts from earlier. parrots are not her least favorite fauna; humans are. particularly male humans. they didn't mean any harm? then, why didn't they stay away? nothing they have done so far has endeared them to her. they have literally just washed up on a beach. now they're holding casual conversations about, oh, the weather. ridiculous, if you ask her. shouldn't the men be looking for water or shelter or something? that's what she would have done. then again, the actions of some of the other nymphs have not exactly helped...
the sarcastic response of one of the new arrivals angers her beyond reason. these sailors are in their domain. sass? not exactly something to be expected. for a moment cressida goes to snap at this "vic" [a ridiculous name as well]. but then she stops herself. she should not let these men get under her skin. then they will have some sort of power over her. cressida will do everything she can to avoid being linked to these conniving excuses for animals. she has heard the tales of what men can do to others: wile them away from their homes, play with their hearts and minds, and otherwise be vicious. this isn't going to happen to her - and not to any of the others if she can help it.
she's not scared.
ebelina's purposefully curt response to their location is pretty much exactly what cressida would have said. still, she's annoyed at the other nymph, for... something-or-other. cressida is sure there's a reason for her to try to one-up ebelina. "yes, we're on an island." she glances at ebelina, trying to keep the smugness from her eyes. "you can call it secret." hopefully she hasn't opened up a new lane of conversation - why she and the others are here - because that is a recipe for disaster. it would just familiarize them further with the sailors. she hurriedly changes the subject. "hello... tate." the name rolls over on her tongue like rotten meat. she turns to the newcomer. "wow. that is one biiiig cut." she glances meaningfully at it and raises her eyebrows, definitely not trying her best to make them uncomfortable. no way.

❀ KALLISTO ❀
╔═════════════╗
the plant nymph
x. currently feeling determined
x. she's at the beach
x. with practically everyone
╚═════════════╝
kallisto didn't want these men to think they meant any severe harm, but she was aware that they couldn't come off as weak. a situation like this required a delicate balance of both. she also knew she needed to get ebelina to calm down a bit and think things through before she made them all seem much more unwelcoming. the redheaded nymph watched carefully as the rest of the castaways awoke and approached them. she wished more than anything she could sit one of them down and ask countless questions about where they were from, yet she knew there would be little to no chance she could do that with visible hostility in the air.
"this is our island, to be more specific. we aren't use to... visitors," she said with a small shrug and a pointed look at cressida. her dim hazel eyes then glanced over the misshapen crew, her gaze eventually falling on the one who claimed to be vic. he seemed like the odd one out, a little rougher and scruffier than the other four. next to him was hudson, foster, seamus then... tate. that was easy enough to remember. they might as well figure it out now, it wasn't like these boys were going to just walk off their sandy shores this afternoon. "right, anyway. water is a good start, nobody is going to talk with sand in their throats," she clapped her hands together, hoping to change the topic and actually start to get somewhere. standing here staring at each other was useless, that much was certain. on top of this mess, neoma wasn't anywhere to be seen; which was unfortunate considering she was the water nymph. they'd just have to do things the harder way. "you two can complain all you want, but nobody's going anywhere anytime soon," her voice was hurried as she tried to rid of the growing tension. "i can show a few of you where the lagoon is. we can carry some water back from there. preferably the less damaged one of you lot," kallisto chirped.

ebelina stood back as the other boys joined the pack, attempting to flee all the commotion, emotionally and physically. no being a very sociable girl, she was a tad bit uncomfortable with the current situation, especially with the fact that their unwelcome guests were men. no-one but cressida and her were really cautious around the crew, both kallisto and aristelle seemed to be enjoying the company, offering them shelter and food.
when the comment about getting some water, to quench the thirst of these poor unfortunate sailors who happened to wash up on the shores of their island, she nodded silently, forcing herself to tag along. ebelina's light green eyes glanced over at the tired crew, wondering who would join the beautiful nymph kallisto on her journey to the lagoon. "i'll come," she mumbled, slightly raising her hand, "of course, i'll go the fun way, if anyone's interested in an adventure with a ton of great views." unlike the rest of the nymphs, ebelina tended to take the back road to the water supply, it took her alongside the cliffs and ocean instead of through the dense jungle. she actually hoped one of the newcomers would join her, preferably the brunet or the scruffy black haired boy. they seemed the most sympathetic to her, and the easiest to push of the cliff. truthfully, the blonde was calm now, so it wasn't likely she would do that. "so, will any of you join us? i'm actually in a good mood for the moment, so hurry up before that changes." she hissed the men, crossing her arms.

FOSTER HARMON
xx⇊xx ⇊xx ⇊xx ⇊xx ⇊xx
tagged; everyone.
kallisto & ebeline [s]
xxxxxxFoster tried to pick up as much as he could by listening. he gathered that they weren't used to visitors, guessed that he and the rest of the crew were perhaps the first. the man nodded to what they were saying, to prove he was listening to them. he noticed the emphasis Kallisto put on 'our' island. figuring they weren't too keen to share it, foster simply nodded once more. most of his energy was being used to keep him standing upright, and lying back down the on the hot sand suddenly seemed appealing. however, when the nymph suggested some of the sailors went along to the lagoon, he perked up a bit. especially when the blonde girl next to her followed up, saying she would go the 'fun' way. anything to take his mind off of things. foster wasn't sure whether ending up on the island was a good or bad thing, but he was determined to enjoy it as much as he could. it was nice for a change, besides. he could see in the distance flavors of beauty, and was positive what ebeline said about good views was true- after a while, ocean in every direction go a little boring. "I'll go," the first mate offered up, almost immediately. the cut on his cheek throbbed, but he wasn't the most injured person out of the crew; perhaps he got off lightly compared to some of the others. he looked over at tate's cut. he had received extremely minor injuries compared to the other sailor. the man's eyes traveled around the rest of the pack, asking for any more joiners. "before we leave, can i ask what your names are?" he asked the two nymphs directly in front of him, turning back to look at them, and talking in a polite tone. he wouldn't mind knowing the names they all went by. he planned to ask many more questions on the way to the lagoon if they were willing to answer any.

xxxxxxx the young man held tight, using his gathering strength to pull his comrade into the upright position. "glad to see you too, my friend," he replied, his voice holding a dry draw while a stretching grin over his lips spoke otherwise. the girls asked for their names, in which vic had gladly supplied in an almost mocking tone: the typical "vic" manner. oddly enough out of the rest of the crew, hudson found himself to be closest with the sarcastic misfit, forced upon them merely because of the punishment of captivity - quite possibly due to the inexplicably collision of natures when it came to the other three sailor. either way, he didn't find it in him to mind when the pirate spoke for him, and instead the usually extroverted boy simply gave a soundless nod, subconsciously still trying to shake off the shock from waking, in response as the two finally approached the waiting group.
xxxxxxx he had missed any earlier exchanges, forcefully having to overlook all the important information said and just conclude on his own. however it didn't seem like very much took place before he'd join, other than the approximate of the mysterious girls and their daunting interrogation. some of them weren't particularly excited for their uninvited guests, he picked up quickly from their exasperated expressions. hudson's attention was quickly drawn to a slim, ginger-haired maiden as she stepped up to give her observation and successfully relieving much of the tension forming like smoke in the surrounding air. she spoke of fresh water, taking the initiative for actual productivity instead of adding her two cents into the mix between the two secluded groups. another girl, a blonde, was quick to add her input, almost offering a bit of a tour. the extended offer peaked his attention - and his spirit - at the opportunity for something adventurous off the bat. his scraps and bruises were not dire and the large cut along his hip had quickly closed in the noted time, so his body was fit for a short distance's travel if he'd ignore all the screeching protest upon soreness. "i'll come too, if you guys don't mind me tagging along," hudson volunteered, in second to that of foster's.

neoma,-----------------tags ;; everyone
SHE'S BEEN KNOWN TO POSSESS FIRE IN HER HEART.
neoma had chosen this time out of any to stay off in the shadows and listen. she'd gathered when the rest of the nymphs had, surely, however she was not taking charge as kallisto was and she was not voicing her opinion as ebelina was either. no, now she was being as kind and thoughtful as aristelle. she was calculating the perfect time and perfect human to warm up to and convince to take her off this god awful island. wip

❀ KALLISTO ❀
╔═════════════╗
the plant nymph
x. currently feeling curious
x. she's leaving the beach
x. with ebelina, aristelle,
hudson, foster
╚═════════════╝
the small smile on her face widen as two of the five strangers offered to join them. ebelina was coming as well, which could go either two ways. one, they have a "accident" on the way to the lagoon and both of the boys don't make it back. two, everything goes well and ebelina behaves the entire route. the first option was much more likely, especially if her friend was bent on taking the riskier way there. while kallisto always loved a bit of adventure, the weary castaways might not make it through safely. the plant nymph didn't want another injury to have to fix up. she was no god when it came to healing wounds. considering the other girls were smart enough not to get drastically hurt, it had been quite some time since she dealt with such deep cuts and large bruises.
"okay, us four will go. maybe neoma and cressida can stay here and make sure nobody bleeds to death?" she suggested with a wary glance at the man with a long gash across his chest. without waiting for any protests, kallisto turned on her heel and lead the way towards the looming jungle. "i'm going the quicker route so i can get back and help without the extra trouble. you can go wherever, either with ebby or me. we'll get what we need either way," kallisto didn't look behind her as she said this, but did stop at the division of plants and sand to let the others catch up with her excited, fast pace.
she brushed her hair away from her face, suddenly feeling a bit more important and quite self-conscious. the realization that they would have to care for these new visitors and share their island hit her like a tidal wave. were they really ready for that responsibility? kallisto had never needed to look out for anybody but herself and her beautiful garden since they other nymphs could take care of themselves. keeping a flower healthy is one thing, but a whole crew of stranded humans is another. her mind was wandering off- she mustn't worry about such things, not now. worrying was cressida's job. besides, they needed to focus on the task at hand.
