What date did you register as a CS member?: February 1, 2009

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 13943

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? Unless I'm away from home for most/all of the day, I am online every single day.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? I have at least one tab open with ChickenSmoothie on it any time I am on my computer. This is usually 3 pm to 11 pm during times when I am in school. This increases when I am on break. Addicted? Maybe..

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them. I've been an administrator on an old RP forum, although that has been long inactive.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Of course! I use it often.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? I love looking through the adoptable oekaki for new character to adopt. I also particularly enjoy viewing the original art in each of the boards, as the talent to be found on this site is insane!

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I've been a smoothian for many years and this site has been a huge part of my life. I'd love to be able to be a part of what practically made my younger years on the internet. I also feel that the experience will be fantastic as I prepare to move on in the world and become exposed to new situations.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?) I was a peer mediator long ago. I am a mature member with a lot of common sense. I don't believe that I am terribly well known around the community and nearly all of my old partners in crime have retired from ChickenSmoothie. As a result, I can promise that I hold no biases. I love to provide help. I've also had quite a bit of experience on the oekaki.

What date did you register as a CS member?: (if it's less than 6 months ago, do not apply)
I registered for CS on Saturday, August 20th, 2011 and have been an active member ever since.

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): (if it's less than 300, do not apply)
I have made 6659 posts in the forums.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
I get on CS everyday, and almost always get on more than once throughout the day.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
I spend more time on CS than any other website. The amount of time I stay on varies, but it is usually over 5 hours. I can also get on at almost any time of day, including work/school hours.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them
I am yet to moderate any forums, but I have administrated or moderated multiple threads on here, some of which were quite popular and required a lot of time that I enjoyed giving.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
Yes! I use oekaki all of the time, and understand how it all works. I have never been much of an artist myself, but I enjoy experimenting with the tools and doodling in my spare time. ^^

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yes, I spend most of my time on CS in the oekaki board either drawing, looking through art, or trying for created pets. c:

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
The Oekaki board is my favorite part of CS, I spend more time there than I do on the normal forums or doing anything pet related. I know how oekaki works, and have helped many of my friends fix problems with theirs and learn to use all of the tools. I feel like I would be able to easily identify what board an oekaki drawing should be in, for I often notice drawings that have been posted in the wrong board while browsing through oekaki. I am well aware of all of the oekaki rules and follow them myself, and if I come across a topic that breaks the rules I always report it. It would be an honor to help out CS and keep the oekaki boards clean, and it is something I think I would enjoy doing. I would love to put the time I spend here to good use. c:

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required)
I believe I can bring an important skill into the position; people skills. I have experience handing out warnings to people on CS, even though they have been minor, like a strike on a thread. I understand that people don't enjoy getting them, and often react unhappily. I feel like I am good at handling situations such as these. I make sure to let people know what they did wrong, how they can avoid doing it again, and that it is only a warning that will eventually go away, or won't matter if you are careful not to repeat the offense. I am also very friendly and patient, I don't mind explaining things more than once or going into detail on things that seem obvious to me. I am not biased at all, I view everybody's opinions as equal, even with my own. I own an older tablet that has a had a lot of weird problems recently and I have managed to fix them all, so I know quite a bit about tablet troubles. I believe these things would be helpful in this position.

What date did you register as a CS member?: Oct 26, 2008

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying): 6302

How many days a week do you usually visit CS? I always make sure to check in atleast once a day

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit? 2-5 hours on week days, and 3-6 on weekends

Have you moderated on any other forums before? I have been a mod for the Gift of Art thread located here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1608293 and I have also been an artist on a no longer existing site called Chibifurs.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw? Indeed I have. I currently have 530 drawings and have posted in every category except Editable Avatars and Advanced.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there? I love to look through the different sections to see what people have drawn, especially in sketches and intermediate.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS? I want to contribute back to CS as it has done so much for me, as well as the members on it. I also love to draw and since I use the oekaki often I know what should go in what category and if something breaks the rules. I report art-theft whenever I see it, be it on CS or anywhere else, and it would be great if I could help out even more to help control art theft as I have been effected by it before and I know it can be upsetting. For every bad there is a good though, even though I may be working with art theft and rule breaking content, I know there will always be tons of wonderful drawings in the oekaki as well that will make the job that much more worth it.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position? I have dealt with art theft before and I know how to deal with it in a calm manor and also explain exactly what they did wrong and how to avoid doing it in the future. I also have a lot of experience with the oekaki program and have been using it for over three years. I know how all the tools work and what can and can't be done with the program. I am also an avid drawer and can provide tips for drawing if needed, or even tutorials on anything from shading fur to making a lock-alpha color layer. At my school group work is big and as such I know how to compromise and settle arguments while staying calm and unbiased. I look at all sides of an argument before deciding anything and I make sure that everyone is treated fairly and I don't play favorites. Just because someone may be friend it doesn't mean they can do no wrong, the rules still apply to them and I will make sure they get enforced. I also make sure I read every PM I get and if it's very important I put it into a folder. I also don't just delete all my PMs when my inbox is full, I go through and make sure they can be deleted first so I don't accidentally delete something important. One last thing I would like to add is that I am familiar with a lot of free linearts and popular artists on DA and a few other sites, so if something like that is stolen I will know and will be able to search up the original image quickly so the problem can be resolved.

Thank you for considering me and good luck going through all the applications ^^

What date did you register as a CS member?:
Saturday, February 9, 2013 (7:36 PM)

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
981

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
7

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
4+

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them:
I have not moderated, but I was once an Ambassador in the MMORPG AQWorlds, which was a job similar to CS's General Helper position (UN: sheogorath1)

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?:
Yes, although my digital art skills are sorely lacking ;v;

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?:
Yeah. I think it's interesting to see the ideas and drawings of the other CS users c:

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?:
I want to be an oekaki mod because I enjoy helping others. I want to help the oekaki portion of the site grow and thrive, which includes taking care of art theft and moving art pieces. I am confident in my abilities to act professionally and without bias, which are elements crucial to the job of a moderator, and in the rules of both the oekaki boards and the site in general. Chicken Smoothie is a beautiful community of amazing members (I've actually made some friends here c:) and I want to help give back some of what I was given.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?:
I'm a sociable person, so I can talk to people easily, I've no fear when it comes to informing people of a wrongdoing, be it a mistake or on purpose, I know the rules of the site and the oekaki boards, and I firmly believe in fairness, which means that in incidents where my judgment is required, I will hold no bias.

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
    Every day, usually.
How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
Depends. Used to be around 3-6 hours, mostly just browsing but I haven't had as much time recently (there's been some stuff going on in my real life but this will most likely end on the 12th.) [edit: back to spending a lot more time on CS!]
Have you moderated on any other forums before?
    No.
Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
    Yes.
Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
Yeah... actually this is mostly what I do on CS these days.
Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Well, I've been a member here for quite a while and I kind of want to do something to be a bigger part of the community that I've interacted with all these years and since I spend most of my time on CS in the oekaki section I feel like this would be the best way.
Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)
I use oekaki pretty frequently (although I don't really post everything), so I would say I have a pretty decent amount of experience with it. I am a peer mediator at my school and the older sibling of two younger brothers. I also babysit fairly often (although this will not get in the way) so I'm pretty good at solving fights and being straightforward.

What date did you register as a CS member?:
February 22, 2013

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
1026

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:
Almost every day of the week, save for the times when I'm not at home or unable to get on a computer.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?:
Quite a few. Usually, I'm either on for a large chunk of time, about two to three hours, or I'll check in on CS periodically.

Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them:
No, though I have moderated large roleplays on various sites before.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?:
Yes, though mostly to color in lines.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?:
Yes. I don't spend tons of time there, but I do like to look through the various boards and look at art posted there.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?:
I'd like to become a bigger part of the CS community. I'm already in quite a few roleplays, discussions, and have made art or adopted for/from various species on this site. Plus, I enjoy spending time looking at art, whether it be advanced or beginner. I would like to help those users who need help from a moderator. I've seen a lot of situations where various people need help from a moderator, like locking topics, wanting to report a user/post, or just need questions answered. Also, I would like to prevent situations of art theft, line tracing, and anything else in general. I haven't seen this happen too often, but when it does, a lot of people get upset over it, and its better to help prevent it in the first place. Not only would I be more involved in the community as a whole, I would also gain more experience in dealing with people in a polite, friendly, and helpful way.

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required):
I have worked with young children (ages five to 12), I was a peer mediator in middle school, I have held a job requiring a lot of communication with people, I'm apart of some honor societies at school, and I do tech crew for the schools shows (which requires communication between the director, actors, and other tech members). Although not all the people using this site are young children, I am able to communicate well with teens and adults also.

Postby faraday » Mon Mar 10, 2014 12:52 pm

What date did you register as a CS member?:
I joined CS December 19th, 2009, so I've been a member for a little longer than 6 months, hehee!

How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
16205

How many days a week do you usually visit CS?:
On any given week, I'll visit seven days a week. However, if I'm on vacation or I have a big exam coming up I probably won't come on every single day.

How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?:
On a weekday, usually two to three hours. On the weekends, I have more time and I'll spend upwards of four hours on here drawing, browsing forums, or posting.

Have you moderated on any other forums before?:
I wish I could say yes, however I've never really been interested in any other forum websites other than CS, so unfortunately, no.

Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?:
Yes! I've been using the program for over four years.

Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?:
Yes! I spend most of my time on the website browsing the oekaki forums, and I often find myself amazed at some of the talent on CS. I love the art community on here and finding new artists to watch, as well as seeing artists improve after the years go by.

Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?:
I want to be an oekaki moderator for CS because I have the time, resources, and skills required to help users use the oekaki forums, as well as keep them clean and safe for users of all ages to enjoy. I would love to be a part of the oekaki staff and be able to do my part to help CS move in the right direction. I've been using oekaki for a long time, and I have enough knowledge about them to help others use it and answer questions they might have. I've gone through the same problems using it that they have, so I'll know what do do in order to help them solve the problem. I'm passionate about art and the artist community on this website, and I want to be one of the first people someone turns to when they have a question about the oekaki forums or they need help. It would be my pleasure to help other users enjoy the oekaki forums just as much as I do!

Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position?:
I've been a science tutor before, and it taught me several important skills that I think are essential for an oekaki moderator position. Being a tutor taught me to be patient with the person you are trying to help... sometimes you have to explain something more than once, and you have to remain positive and kind the entire time if you want to be able to successfully help them. I own a Bamboo tablet, so if any users have any questions about using their tablet alongside with oekaki, I have enough experience with tablet troubles that I should be able to help them out. I'm no stranger to using oekaki, and I have more than enough experience with the program to help users with any problems they may encounter using the program.

Thanks for reading, good luck to all applicants! :)

    1. What date did you register as a CS member?:
    June 11th, 2011

    2. How many posts have you made in the forum (at the time of applying):
    8262

    3. How many days a week do you usually visit CS?
7 days a week. Time online varies day to day though with Tuesdays being my most active days now.

    4. How many hours per day do you usually spend on CS, on a day that you do visit?
I will spend a minimum of three hours online simply lurking, and upwards of seven hours on other days.

    5. Have you moderated on any other forums before? If so, please link to them.
    I have moderated on threads and topics here on CS, as I don't find many other sites interesting. Here are a few of them;
Whiptail Dragons Unidaehrs V2 Unidaehrs V1. I also run the CS Fanclub for Doctor Who, which has over 200 members.
I have been GA or Artist for a few other species here on CS, and have had to answer questions and respond to issues before.

    6. Have you ever used the CS oekaki to draw?
I use Oekaki to draw all the time, no matter what I'm drawing or doodling. One of the main reasons for this is that the oekaki based community here on CS is supportive and welcoming of new art, and we all enjoy seeing others improve. It's a wide-topic forum, and it works well for quick little doodles and for highly detailed art as well.

    7. Do you ever spend much time browsing the oekaki board just to look at the art posted there?
All the time. I love seeing the variety of art and skill sets here on CS, as it's one of the few places where anyone can get their art featured, and where you can feel free to express yourself without being heavily judged. I may not always post though, as I prefer to lurk and see how much someone has improved, or simply admiring the art.

    8. Why do you want to be an oekaki moderator for CS?
Firstly, I love helping others. And it's not just simply that. The CS Oekaki forum has been a way that other users have been able to draw art and make connections with other players on the site. I'd love to devote my time to helping make it a more understandable and useable part of the CS forums, and making it more welcoming to those users who don't have as developed digital drawing skills as older/more experienced users. Secondly, I have the time and the knowledge of the oekaki program to do what needs to be done. Granted, the oekaki program doesn't currently work on my laptop due to problem with the hard drive, and I may not be able to put my own knowledge to the best use possible since I'm not the best digital artist, but I do know how to explain things to other users in both words and photos when needed. More importantly, I love the community on the Oekaki forums, and I want to give them back what they've given me and more.

    9. Can you think of any particular skills you can bring to the position (this is not required) (for example have you had any experience in peer mediation? Have you had a ton of experience using the oekaki program?)

I've been involved in many school club activities, such as Key Club {A volunteer service leadership based program for high schoolers}, drama, and WLC, all of which I've had to take a leadership role in. I've had to assist younger kids before, and I was a member of a peer mediation group which dealt with severe bullying cases. Since I've joined, I've always used the Oekai program, and I'm familiar the tools, the gallery function, and with the issues that users can have with it and Java acting up. AI can handle issues maturely, and quickly as well. I have a habit of stalking the art threads, the created pets, and anything else on the CS Oekaki topics. I don't mind reading through reports, or topics either. Although I've never been a moderator for an art forum before, I learn quickly and would be more than willing to devote much more time to the site on a whole.
