I nod silently at Shinepaw, giving her permission to stalk the vole ahead. I crouch low, ready to watch silently, and take note of her approach and kill.

Foxfur:
"Good." I say, shortly, and turn, "Let's start with the Shadowclan border, ok?" I take off at a quick trot towards the aforementioned. Our scent markers already waft towards me; fresh as ever. Yet I smell no Shadowclan, only a faint reek of the Thunderpath. I do wonder what's happened to the other clans; they're so silent.

Mousekit:
Glaring at the queen in charge of us, I stomp across the nursery and lay down, trying to fall asleep again.

Stonekit:
Bashfully, I stand up, and slink over to Mousekit. "I don't like this queen." I whisper, trembling beside my much bolder sister.

I follow Foxfur and Windsong to the Shadowclan border. "This should be a short patrol." I comment, idly, "Our markers are fresh, and the other clans seem to be hibernating, or something." I add lightly, giving a huff of laughter. But it's kind of disturbing actually, and I see my concern and confusion reflected in the deputys eyes.

Foxfur:
"yes." I say, troubled, trotting along the silent Shadowclan border in contemplative silence. "IT isn't like our neighbors to be so... inactive." I murmur, mostly to myself.

Hawktail:
I stand, and purr warmly "Excellent kill." Then I add, kindly, "Next time, be more aware of the wind, if we weren't so near the border markers he might have scented you." It's a mistake even warriors make, though, so I cant find anything but pride in my chest at the sight of my apprentice doing so well. "Let's go further into the trees; I want to see you stalk a mouse."

"Yeah..." I mumble, as we round the bend and reach the place where all four clan boundaries meet. I gaze down into the hollow curiously, "We have a gathering coming up, don't we?" I ask absentmindedly, "Perhaps we will learn what's happened to the other clans then - assuming Thunderstar lets us attend this one." My voice is only a little sarcastic.
