I thought I'd ask you peeps for your opinions. :3 give your honest opinion and don't bash others for their opinions (obviously ;P).

For me, I personally believe that the movie was an okay one. The CGI was great, the action wonderful, and Smaug was of course fantastic. But me, being the book fan, believes that PJ did not pay homage to the book at all. I know that movie adaptations can't always be exact, as some things simply can't be put to the big screen, but just... seriously? What's with this crazy Legolas-Tauriel-Kíli love triangle going on? I understand why Tauriel may have been added into the movie and I like the character, but all that lovey-dovey nonsense was completely useless and diverted attention from the original plots, IMHO.
Azog as a character annoys me, too. He should've died long before events in the Hobbit took place! Couldn't PJ just use Bolg as a side antagonist and leave Azog alone?
Overall, I believe that DoS was a good movie, but now I view it more as an excellently-written piece of severely-AU fanfiction than an actual movie adaptation of the original book.

So you took over my random question asking huh CG? Lol xD sorry i havnt been as active! My life is hectic right now. Back to the question! I loved it in full honesty! I seen it with my Pop. Fiction class because we read The Hobbit in class. My friend was scared to death of the spider part though! It was sadly kinda funny haha! Then when she commented on Legolas being "A rabbit ninja warrior on steroids" it took all my willpower not to just crack up laughing! I do think they need to practice their dragons though. All this time, and video editors still cant make a decent dragon, though Smaug was indeed one of the better ones! The scene where they tried turning him into gold? The effects were simply amazing ^^ i both dread and await the finale!
