Jaywing padded over and lay beside Larkpaw. "What's wrong?" He gave her ear a comforting lick.

Larkpaw looked up, her face was soaked with tears. "A...After the badger fight, I may have saved my clanmates, but I'm covered in scars, I look horrible!"

Jaywing narrowed his eyes.
"Larkpaw, you are the most beautiful cat I've ever seen. Your scars are marks if heroism, and bravery. I love you more than life itself. You are a beautiful, amazing cat. I love you."
His voice dropped to a low growl.
"And if any cat ever dares to say different, I'll shred them."

Larkpaw stared into his eyes, realised he was serious, and snuggled into his fur. "I love you too," she mewed. "And you make me the happiest cat there was!"
