I went to the pub in the city today (Sydney) and spoke to one of the ladies who worked there and she was Finnish, and never seen someone so happy when I told her that I knew people in Finland speak Swedish (especially on the west side). It was a funny sight but it was pretty awesome at the same time. Sad that I can't fully speak Swedish because I would of gone into a huge conversation with her in a language she was more familiar with!

My father is"Australian" back since the first fleet (related to Matthew flinders in our family line). Someone called me not a "true australian" because my mother is Hungarian, despite being an aus citizen since a baby... However I think the only way I would not be "true" is because I'm not Indigenous

Technically no one is true Australian, since everyone came here from somewhere else somewhere back down the line... Even Aboriginal people. So just ignore those people who call you not Australian. Geez, they're just being picky about things, because you don't need to be related to a First Fleet convict to be Australian.
