Hayley yawned, rolling her shoulders back to stretch. She had gotten a call from the control room that she, and the other soldiers along with the general were needed in HQ, some kind of mission or something? She had heard from someone that it was a scouting mission to the edge of the vampiric plains too look for extra supplies, such as food and medicine and more weaponry. That sounded like a good cover up, but she guessed it was really to scout out the area, to see how many vampires were around and such. It was much more dangerous than it sounded, she was sure. She looked around, not seeing anyone here yet, even the general. She waited, getting a little impatient, because she didn't want to be hanging out here all day, not like she had anything better to do though. She also felt nervous, because if the rumor for this mission was true, then she and many others could very potentially get killed, considering they would be so close to the vampire's territory. She wondered who would be going with her, if she was even chosen in the first place. But there were very few soldiers here ready for duty, and she was one of them, so there was a good chance she would be.

[[ sorry for the not so great first post guys. I am better than this, just not when starting xD
SO HERE'S WHAT'S GOING ON:
Potentially, i want all the soldiers to come to where Hayley is, and the general [dat is you reasonable c: ] gives them all orders to go to the plains, as i listed above. And then something dramatic can happen with all you vamps out there xD ]]

Phyllis shuffled a bit under the large pile of wool over her small body. She was having another nightmare- one of those you just can't wake up from. Her scream was trapped inside of her throat, meaning no matter how hard she tried she just couldn't make a sound. Not like anyone would hear her- she was asleep, meaning that the only sound anyone else could hear would be a slight moan. Shuffling, her forehead now dotted with a few specks of sweat, she panted before finally letting a small yet terrifying scream escape from her lips, her head immediately slamming into the dashboards of the bunkbed as she flew upwards, causing a small bruise to form on her forehead. Letting out a moan, she rubbed it gingerly, her brown hair a frizzy mess behind her as she rolled out of bed onto the cool floor, her heartrate speeding as her chest heaved air. She was used to having the nightmares now, at least once a week she would wake up from running away from a darkness that would swallow her up. Her blue eyes now edged with tears, she shuffled over to her dresser and pulled open the small wooden cabinet, having to shove twice before it finally yanked and she toppled to the floor with it, her head pounding as it landed on her fragile knees. Biting her lip to keep quiet, which was one of her best abilities, she lifted it again before shoving it back inside again, grabbing a pair of ripped jeans and a tank top, which she threw on almost immediately, before walking over to her mirror. As she stared at it, she realized one thing. She was skinny. To skinny. Her arms were thin, almost lifeless as her pale features gave her a ghostly era. She was tired as well- you could see in the way her eyes clouded partially in the center- the nightmares had become worse. All she wanted was a family- someone to hold her, to take care of her. She knew the soldiers were like a family for her- they would always be there for her, and she was grateful for that. But now a days, something she really wanted was a mother to teach her things like sewing or painting, or how to do her hair. Brushing it with swift strokes until it became as smooth and soft as it always had been, she set the black handle down before pinning her hair up into a bun and leaving two long strands down in the front. She slid out of her home, the quiet of the streets giving her a small shiver down her back as she entered the base, her long limbs helping her strides to let her go farther inside. She realized Hayley was in there already, and she smiled warmly, before crossing her arms over her chest and raising her eyebrows, a strong look on her face. Hayley was always so kind to her, she couldn't have asked for a better friend as she stepped inside slowly, the door shutting behind her as she stood in front of her. She looked like a leader. Phyllis's long face slowly shifted into a smile as her soldier was here early. "Morning. You should be glad your here early, unlike the other Sleeping Beauties. Today's going to be a busy day." She murmured through gritty teeth, her voice a bit sour after the nightmares, but she still kept the bold look on her face as she turned and faced the doorway, before pacing around, her eyes fixed on the floor as they narrowed on their own. She bit her lip tightly before looking over at the weapons cabinet, a hungry look spreading across her face.

Lachlan was oh-so-graciously awoken by a summons to come to the headquarters for "unspecified" reasons. He was able to guess very easily why they would be meeting--vampires. It was always vampires around there at the base. Vampires were the cause of all the sadness, of all the tension, of the fact the sun rose and set where it did. He groaned while rolling out of bed, noting the hunger he felt in the back of his throat as he did so. He hadn't fed in several days. After all, he was an undercover agent with the humans and it wasn't exactly easy to get blood without someone noticing. It was actually easy to see his transformation over the days; his eyes darkened, his skin paled, he became slower and weaker (but still stronger and faster than a human) and he looked sick in general. Granted, it hadn't been hard to convince the humans that he was just a sickly person. Poor Tobias Alexander, the young man with the weak immune system. He showered and dressed quickly in the boring clothes that they all wore at the base and began his journey to headquarters.

It was far too early in the morning for the humans to get up, he knew that. He found it extremely difficult to always have to pretend to be groggy around them--unlike them, he woke up ready to start the day--so that they weren't put off by his odd wakefulness. He waved graciously to every passerby while he walked, running a hand through his hair now and then so that it would dry in the right style. The one thing he hated the most was having his hair fall flat on his forehead. As he rounded the corner to the headquarters he noted that there were two people already there. He could sense them by their familiar scents, something he'd become accustomed to after months of pretending to be their co-soldier. Sure enough, his deep blue eyes fell on the two young women he was partnered with and he immediately began to smile. He'd overheard Phyllis's remark that Hayley was early, unlike the other sleeping beauties, and put on a big smirk of a grin.

"I don't need my beauty sleep, I'm naturally gorgeous," Lachlan, or Tobias as he was known by the humans, declared in a singsong voice. He stepped up next to Hayley and threw Phyllis a playful wink before leaning back against the controls behind him. He casually crossed his ankles and gave them both a long look. Hayley was considerably tall for a girl, standing at 5'7", and she had gentle good looks about her but overall wasn't too noticeable. He'd honestly never been much of a fan of her personally, but he did respect her for her strength. Occasionally he'd almost felt challenged by her, but she'd never know that. He had to hide his vampiric advantages for the sake of secrecy and espionage. Phyllis, however, was a whole different story. A female general was already completely against tradition, but then she had to go and be 6'1"--the same height as him--and make him slightly uncomfortable due to the fact she was basically the same size as him... with curves and femininity. They did look rather similar at times and it irked him due to the fact she should technically be his food. Her brains made her even more respectable and at times Tobias forgot that he was supposed to be her enemy.

"So, ladies, what's the plan?" he asked, shooting them both a look with raised eyebrows. "Partying with the vamps again?"

Minos,
I hope this is ok!

................................................
alking slowly with both hands in his jacket pockets, Eric knew that he wouldn't be late. Considering some of the soldiers here, their wit and flirtatiousness, all these traits added up to the lack of experience in the field. It seemed that some of them had yet to meet the feeling of pain and pure horrificness that this war had brought upon the human race. And it sickened Eric to see them take this situation as a joke. However, who could blame them? If you're going to live your final days - possibly hours in this base... try and be positive and the outcome will always be better. The brown haired man wished this was true for him, but his past was so badly scarred that every day, every breath was a living nightmare. In all honesty, he wished that things were back to how they once were - when the vampires were still stuck to the shadows and humans at their climax. But knowing that was impossible, sanity took over his body again and Eric lifted his head a little higher; time to find out what his duty was today. And so with a sudden rush of anxiety, he made his way down the dark corridors by himself in silence. The lights flickered every so often but it had become a normality... he now knew what to expect in the dark.

Finally reaching the head quarters, Eric opened the door and found it an odd miracle that three people had already turned up! Innocently, his dark blue eyes shifted warily over them, but hovered over Tobias for a moment as he began to speak, in his usal confident tone. Eric didn't like him, and that was fact. Something about him made his whole body crawl but moving out of the door way and to the nearest table, he pulled out a chair and sat down, his hand under his chin as he listened intently. Eric had been awake for hours and so he was fully awake as he observed everyone with analytical eyes. He was not going to say anything, yet, but he kept quiet until Tobias had finished speaking. He could see in the man's eyes he saw the two woman in front of them as any one would, but there was often a strange glimmer in Tobias's eyes that resurfaced something in Eric's past... however, he was unable to pin point, just what that was. ""Partying with the vamps again? Eric pulled his face into a sarcastic smile; it was time to make his mark "I imagine it will be the much more the opposite, we're not here, to party"

Phyllis's eyes were still glued onto the weapons. She had ignored one of Tobias's fancy entrances and stepped forwards, the cabinet's gleam sending shiver's down her spine. She could already feel battle plans forming themselves in her brain, and she immediately snapped it open, before pulling out the gun with a strong force that showed how serious she was really supposed to be. Taking a few more for them, she set them down on a table silently, careful not to set the trigger of and kill one of them on accident, and drew in quite a long breath before blowing off again, trying to relieve the stress. They had fought many battles before- so many she could hardly register the thought of just one specific one. Shaking her head, she returned her thoughts to the two people in front of her. She would judge people, yes, but not always in a rude way. They were both two very good soldiers for her, and she was glad she'd chosen them. Even though she was taller than most of the females in her group, she was happy that there was something there, a strand to hold on to, that showed how much effort she put in to being a female general. "I can disagree to that.. " She joked, her blue eyes clouding over a bit as the corner of her lip slid into a smile. Humor had always been a weakness of hers- her kind of humour was a bit crude, but she never spoke too much about anything other than back-up ideas or gun and metal weaponry against vampires, and other enemies of hers and the whole group's. Her own eyebrow raised at his comment about the vampires. The way they could still smile at the way things were, the way everyone was now, all the blood splattering for no reason, so many deaths that nobody had ever even bothered to look after- it made her stomach twist with envy. She rolled her eyes instead of making a rude comment, but instead made her way over to a mirror and looked at herself. The dark black hairtie was slid up her wrist, and she immediately shook it off into her palm, putting her hair up and tying it tightly into a ponytail. She wasn't a tomboy, but it wasn't right to have your hair flying around as your running around blindly with it sticking up everywhere. She shook her head, the pounding headache being too much to handle as she leaned against the counter, staring at Tobias meekly. Something had always sparked inside of her, the way he was a bit paler than the rest- but usually she ignored it. "Obviously." The word rolled out of her mouth smoothly as she turned to face the other direction, her face hardening as she hid it away from the others. She wouldn't dare look at them, realizing that she could lose any one of them in only a mere second on the battlefield. "But partying is a different way to put it." Turning back around, she breathed out before pushing herself into the kitchen, making herself a cup of tea as she dabbed the packet slowly, putting in a few droplets of milk before stirring and pressing the hot liquid to her lips, trying to calm her nerves as she waited for the others to come. She narrowed her eyes at the thought. Were were they, slacking of in their cozy beds? Tightening her grip on the cup, she stepped out before turning and walking to the door, looking out and wanting to spit on their room doors. Turning to her group of Toby and Hayley, she set the mug down before slamming her palms on the table. "Alright. Here's what's up. As Toby had obliviously stated, we will be attacking the vampires tonight. You will go onto that field, but you will be smart.." She said the word stronger than the others before stepping back a bit and picking a gun up into her palm. "Each one of you will hold at least one weapon and a back up one in-case the other is disarmed. Our plan is complicated- I will need two soldiers to go to each side of the other territory, two of our bravest and two that can be handled alone, to go to the left and right of the territory. We will corner them, and you will push around them until they will all be forced to center. The rest of us will most likely come from the center in, but no matter what do not give any of them a weakness to find." Her voice echoed in the room, and she clenched her fist as she took a sip of tea, allowing the liquid to pour into her throat and warm her stomach.

"I imagine it will be much more the opposite, we're not here to party," Tobias's least favorite dark-haired man declared after making his rather bland entrance to the room. Eric was the most experienced soldier in the room and thus he made Tobias extremely uncomfortable. No one was more of a threat to his cover than the tall--even taller than he--man that was now near him. If there was one person he would peg to be afraid of, it'd be Eric. Granted, he felt like his vampiric abilities gave him a little bit of an edge on the man and if he ever felt uncomfortable or threatened, he could just arrange for a... "little accident".

Tobias faked a chuckle at Eric's commentary, quite the unbelievable actor due to past experience with trickery. "Just trying to keep things light," he muttered in a light tone, nodding in agreement when Phyllis said that partying was a different way to put it. Their leader left the room for a few moments and Tobias glanced up in turn at the two other soldiers in the room with him. The hunger he felt in the back of his throat throbbed violently for a few moments, but Tobias was the master of his own cravings and choked back any desire to act on them. Pushing a pale hand through his wildly mussy hair, he sighed quietly. He'd definitely need to be paired with someone that wouldn't be suspicious of him disappearing for a moment. Why not take advantage of being around vampires to get some sort of blood from them? That way he wouldn't have to attempt to sneak a meal from a random human at the base. It was just far too risky.

Finally Phyllis returned to the room, signature cup of coffee in hand, and stationed herself in front of them to tell them all the plan. When she mentioned his name he glanced over at the other two with a teasing look of playful pride; almost like a bird preening its feathers. Of course, when she continued describing their plan he focused on it and dropped his smirk to take on a straight face. They were attacking the vampires? Even better than what he'd thought; he'd figured they were just going on a supply run or something, but going straight into the heart of things brought him closer to the people he relayed his messages to. Hopefully no one would slip up and act like they knew him. It had almost happened before and he'd heard of the horrible punishment the culprit had received--he wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy.

Phyllis's emphasis on the word smart brought a large, goofy grin to Tobias's lips and he rolled his eyes, thinking she was probably indirectly teasing him. He'd done a few reckless things in the past, but then again no one was more reckless and selfless than Eric. The man probably had been face to face with death at least ten times in the last year, just to save someone else. Although Tobias knew that Eric didn't like him much he had no doubt the man would still put his neck on the line just to get him out of a sticky situation. If only Eric knew that Tobias was never actually in any danger...

They were instructed to each have two weapons and Tobias's mind immediately jumped to what he'd be bringing with--throwing knives were a necessity for him, seeing as his keen vampire eye sight and incredible reflexes allowed him to hit almost any moving target with precision (and thus to only disable the victim, not kill them). Of course, he'd also bring a gun or two just to match with the rest of the group. Humans seemed to think that guns were just the superior weapon, so as a fake human himself he needed to fit in. When Phyllis informed them as to how they'd be pairing up Tobias immediately proclaimed "I'll take Twitch, if she ever gets here." Twitch was his nickname for the scaredy-cat of the group, Miss Lucy Rain. She seemed like the easiest one to sneak past so he could communicate with his people. Although he was a playful guy the rest of the group knew exactly how useful Tobias was--he was an incredibly asset mostly because of the abilities they didn't know he had.

Hayley jumped when Tobias appeared besides her. She never did notice when he sneaked up on her, which was surprising at some times. But She didn't suspect him, why should she? A vampire wouldn't be able to invade their lines, so thee was no reason for her to suspect he wasn't who he said he was. She smiled up at him though, feeling an odd sense of relief when he appeared. He was funny and witty and was enjoyable to be around. "Very funny, Tobias. And you could probably say that, yes. From what i've heard, we're heading near the plains today. Better bring some stakes or wooden bullets with you, just to be safe. As for me, i'll be the katniss everdeen of the group, and use my bow." She joked lightly. Her bow was her best weapon, what with the wood tipped arrows soaked in vervain. The government had a very small supply of it, and they used it for military purposes only, at least, they usually did.

She listened to Phyllis as she gave them a rundown of the mission plan. Sounded like a good plan to her. "And remember guys, wooden bullets if you take a gun, and wooden stake. Nothing else hurts them as much." She glanced at Eric as he entered and replied with a snide comment to Toby. She sighed, not really in the mood to witness a rivalry or argument between them. They had to stick together if they were going to stay alive. "Sounds like a plan, general." She winked at Phyllis, trying to keep a light note on the situation. She knew that she liked to be called Phyllis, and that's what people normally called her, and general was more formal than the situation called for, but she was trying to keep things light, to keep everyone in a semi good mood, at least. "So, just the four of us, then? Or are we going to try and wait for the others, if they ever wake up?" She laughed, but only very slightly. She wasn't the best at cracking jokes, but she tried.

She felt nervous, and a little scared. She'd only been in real combat a few times, and that's when she was farther back in the lines, with barely any fighting at all. She trained a lot, and done exceptionally well. But she was still scared. This would be one of the first times she'd ever fought a vampire up close and personal, and there would potentially be a lot of them, since they would be so close to the plains. But she had to do this, not just for her country or her friends, but for her family. She'd lost everyone because of them, and because of that it made her stronger. But inside, she still felt weak. Her parents had died in the war, and so had her older brothers. She was the only girl in the family, so no sisters or anything. But they were gone, and she was the last one left. Her friends were like her family and she protected them fiercely, but not as sacrificially as she potentially could be. She could sometimes be dangerously self protective, caring more about her safety than others, but she tried her best not to be like this. Eric was so much better than her, caring about others more than she did. She wanted to be more like that, but it was hard. She nodded slightly, more to herself, and crossed her arms, waiting. "You could always come with me, Toby. Things might be more fun if we teamed up." She smiled. Toby was fun to be around, and she really didn't want to be paired up with Eric, but Lucy she wouldn't mind paring up with. SHe just didn't want toby with her, because she was scared easily, and he could be a little intimidating sometimes.
