Jameson listened to her silently, forcing himself not to cry. He hated crying. After a long, long moment, he looked up at her, his eyes searching her face. "You promise?" he whispered. He'd never been one to hold grudges; after all, he loved his mother an awful lot, and all he wanted was for her to come home again.
