Well, maybe since there's such a 'peaceful' atmosphere, maybe one f the deities or otherworldly characters could cause a scene or something, making the other deities and such rush over to try and subdue the person, consequentially drawing the humans in. Or something; my sleep deprived mind is slow at churning good ideas. xc

maybe a conflict or argument could break out between a celestial being [so a god, demon or shinki] and a human, which ends up in a huge conflict? and then because they've disrupted the hanami, which is a festival to celebrate new life and prosperity, something terrible happens - like, idk, the gods all get pushed to the chopping block [figuratively, i mean, because they're all on the verge of slipping into non-existence] and everybody's got to figure out how to save them before 4 gods blink out of existence?

i actually had another idea but i got side-tracked by my overdue position paper that i'm supposed to be writing right now and uh i'll try to do some brainstorming before i go to sleep, but for now i leave you with this peace offering!

Alright, everybody has done their first post. c: So, time for some trouble!
The idea of some characters causing a scene sounds interesting; even if we had some NPCs do the work, it'd still be enough. Either way, it'd probably either have to be a demon and a shinki, a god and a demon, or just two demons causing the trouble.

Thinking right off of the bat, we could assume that all the characters are somewhat in the same area--demons, shinkis, and deities alike. And if there was a big commotion between supernatural beings and a fight broke out, it'd be likely that the deities would end up having to erase the memories of any witnesses.
Which, if we went with this idea, we could do one of two things;

First idea, the deities all gather and wipe the memories of witnesses. [ Meaning all the human characters. ] Afterwards, we'd perhaps time skip a day or so, and there could be a time when the deities are all meeting up together to discuss what happened. Coincidentally, the four humans could run into them during this time, and then they'd all go into a phase of 'deja vu.' Then we'd just go wherever.
[ I personally favor this idea, seeing as the humans do not yet know about the deities, shinkis, demons, etc. ]

Then there's the second; the deities wipe many memories of that day, but as they get around to the four human characters, they'd stop. [ Like, the characters would beg them not to, something of the sort. ] I haven't completely thought of what they'd do by that point, but it'd probably go something along the line of the deities, shinkis, demons leave, etc, and they can run into each other later and stuff.

Which of the two do you all prefer?

Well, so far, the first idea is the favorite of most. Either way, we'll need some characters to strike up a scene; any volunteers or ideas?

I will c: My character is currently open, she could do something out of boredom. Maybe... she could fill the place with smoke or something? c:

My character is open as well, if anyone wants her to try and stop something. She probably wouldn't be trying to start a fight, with how she kind of mellowed and all.

It could maybe also be between Yoshina and Tenken, seeing as they're arguing already... ^^"

That could be an idea; Yoshina and Tenken could start something, and any demon can see it as the perfect time to create even more trouble. It'd be pretty chaotic; two gods off at each other, two demons [ or one ] joining in on the little fight, and the shinkis doing what any shinki would do--trying to either stop the fight or the demons.
Is everyone alright with this idea? c:

Also, we'll be going with the first idea, as everyone's voted for it so far.
