For centuries, Jakali have roamed the harshest environments untamed. Humans were not willing to risk themselves against freezing tundra winds or desert sandstorms. So the Jakali lived on, undisturbed. Until now. Will you start your own reserve? Create your own pack and perfect your bloodlines?

What is a Jakali?
A Jakali is a jackal-like wild dog. They have a large ruff of fur around their necks that narrows down to short, stiff hairs over the rest of their body. Jakali range from about the size of a German Shepard to a male lion, with females being smaller than males. These creatures are made to survive in harsh habitats, whether it be freezing tundra or sweltering desert. Since they live in harsh climates, they have touch mouths and stomachs which enable them to eat almost anything. They aren't picky, but they prefer meat if they can get it.

About the Jakali

☯Jakali plural is still 'Jakali.'
☯An adult female is called an empress, while an adult male is called a hart.
☯ An adolescent is called a pup until they reach adulthood.
☯ Jakali always have a darker stripe running from nose tip to tail tip, to find one without is incredibly rare.
☯ Un-fuzzy Jakali are uncommon, but do happen. Usually this pup will be thrown out of the pack as soon as it's old enough.
☯ Desert Jakali will be more in the range of browns and tans, while tundra Jakali will be more in the white/grey color range.
☯ Most Jakali have very striking markings.
☯ Females often have brighter colored eyes.
☯ Don't let looks deceive, Jakali are not soft or fluffy, their ruff is made of long, stiff hairs
☯ They have large paws, which are handy for walking across loose sand or snow.
☯ A Jakali is built to run. With thin, sinewy legs and large paws, it is easy for them to move fast over sandy and snowy terrain, making them formidable hunters.

Rules

☯ You may own as many Jakali as you wish, but you may only adopt once every 10 days
☯ Jakali have 12 breeding slots; you may only breed them 12 times (so keep track)
☯ Do not take the original image off CS
☯ Do not steal (the demon-kali will get you)
☯ Do not claim the species as your own
☯ Do not complain if you don't win the 'kali, there's always more
☯ If you do not wish to own your Jakali, you must wait until the next re-adoption event
☯ Respect your fellow members
☯ No spamming
☯ Do not ask to be staff unless it says we are accepting applications, then all you do is fill out the form
☯ Please do not add things to your Jakali (i.e. A collar or bracelet), Jakaki are not house pets.
☯ Do not claim the other user's Jakali as your own
☯ Pups will grow up at two weeks of age, please contact the artist who made it to grow it. If it was a guest artist and their term has run out, the contact me or ______

How do I adopt?

Simply click on the Jakali you want (as long as it says 'Adopt Me'), and flu out the form found there.
The form for each Jakali will differ with each artist, and make sure you follow the rules for that 'Kali as well as the rules for the species.

☯ Follow the species description please, use realistic colors. Maybe a tad of unrealistic color, like a dark red or really light blue here and there, but please not too much.
☯ Don't forget the stripe on their backs!
☯ Please limit yourself to 2-3 customs. Mini-mods, same thing for you (Pm me if you want to color it in yourself). Lead Artist and Minimod may have 3-4 customs.
☯ Try to stay active, check at least every 2-4 days

Breeding!

How Do I Breed My Jakali?

Breeding Jakali is very simple. First you pick two Jakali, a hart (male) and an empress (female). Both Jakali must have been an adult for at least two weeks. These Jakali can belong to you, or someone else or any combination of the like. If one or both don't belong to you, remember to ask the other user (or users) for permission. Then you check here to see if I or any breeding artists are accepting requests. Follow the rules of that particular artist, and Pm them the code if so. If they are not open, check back later and wait until one of us are open. Remember, Jakali have twelve breeding slots, so keep track!

Concerning Pups

Jakali only have one pup per litter. Said pup will stay a pup for two weeks before you may contact the artist who bred it to grow it. If you find that you don't want the pup, contact the artist and they will put it up for adoption. Occasionally, when a first generation pup created, you must wait two weeks from the day it is judged to grow it. If the artist who created it was a guest artist and their term has run out, contact me or _____, and we will grow it for you.
