"Tomorrow," he said.

Kris sighed, leaning her head on the window. "I'm sorry but... ut's true.' After a moment she looked at the dresser. "In my top drawer... there's something under my baby book." She looked at her feet. They were divorce papers, filled out but the date was blank. She just couldn't continue to be unhappy in the company of her family.

Sarah nodded. "Is it alright if I spend another night at your place? I don't want to be around my parents right now."

Luke watched her, his eyes searching her face. Wow. Some husband he was. After a long moment, he turned and walked to the dresser drawer, slowly pulling it open. Dread pitted in his stomach and a lump formed in his throat when he saw the papers. "Kris?" he asked quietly, looking over to her.

He nodded. "No problem."

Kris looked at him with wet eyes. "Its for the better. We can't force it anymore."

Sarah exhaled in relief. "Thank you, Jayje."

Luke blinked away hot tears. "Kris..." What could he possibly say? He couldn't just sign these papers, and he didn't want to admit that she was right. They couldn't force it. "What about the kids? And the house? And...us?" More tears threatened to spill from his eyes and he forced them back.

JJ smiled and kissed her after he parked.

Kris sighed. "I talked to Cece. She's letting me stay with hwr until I can get an apartment. We'll have joint custody. I'll be close. And us... If by some miracle it all comes back... the firewirks and butterflies... then we can try again."

Sarah kissed him back gently, leaning over the console.

"Kris, don't do this," Luke pleaded. What else could he do besides beg? The love of his life was leaving because they'd begin to drift apart. "Anything that drifts away has to come back eventually, right? Kris, we can do this. Please..."

Kris sighed. "If so... then you have to be patient. You don't have to sign but I'm packed. Maybe we just need time to be apart."

JJ smiled. "Lets go."

Luke bit his lip. "Maybe...maybe if we spend time apart, then we can work this out. I'll be patient. You take your time, and I'll take mine. But I can't make myself sign these papers." He clutched the papers tightly in his hand, terrified that she would leave him.

Sarah pulled back and chuckled softly. She was already beginning to feel a little better. "Alright." She climbed out of the car.

Kris nodded. "But if it doesn't work out Lucas..."

JJ walked in with her.

"I know, Kristyna." Luke looked her in the eye.

Sarah walked into the alley with him. Once in, they paid and got their shoes.
