That reference is fantastic. I always wondered exactly how the flock hid their wings under their hoodies in those James Patterson Maximum Ride books. As much as I loved them.
I'm also working on a new roleplay and for my idea, the wings are tattoos that can move across the skin and become three-dimensional at the owner's will (similar to the tattoo of the dragon in the Dragon Back series). I'm not quite positive how wings that size would translate to a tattoo, though. Especially a moving one. From what it looks like, I'm guessing my best course of action if I want it more realistic like that I'd have the tattoo be visible all the way down to their feet and across their arms. Hmmmm.

If you've already for the magic going to turn the tattoos into wings, perhaps the base tattoo might only need to be proportional to the wing size?

Ugh. I really want to rp from the perspective of a pokemon. Screw the trainers. I just don't think talking pokemon would ever find a way to not be... cheesy?
Or warrior cats.. a warrior cat rp that actually goes beyond a first post from everyone would be nice. q.q
Anyone have any solutions for my woes?

Cheesy how? I mean, they'd essentially be talking animals with superpowers (for the most part, I'm aware that some are... quirky), and there have been plenty of RPs with more-or-less that premise. If you're looking for something pack/clan oriented as well, we could assign the pokemon similar roles as in warrior cats (hunters, healers, apprentices, and so on). Eliminate the "moves" in the strictest sense, and apply common sense instead. Scyther can Cut down small trees. Fearow can Fly. Flareon can start fires. Audino can heal. Now I haven't actually read warrior cats, but does this sound like a plausible spin to put on it?

i'd be interested in the clan-like approach with the more common-sense type of view. that sounds interesting and it'd be fun to do. ouo

I'll send you a PM with what I have so far to see if you are interested! And I really like that idea. Like I have this picture in my mind of them stretching their wings in tattoo form and the black lines swirling along their arms to pool in their fingertips before retreating. Can be used for intimidation purposes too.

I don't completely understand what you are saying, sorry. What I'm getting is that you are suggesting that since the tattoo can become three-dimensional already as part of the plot why not make them a smaller tattoo that actually fits on their body?

Ooooh goodness, I hadn't thought of that. I had just thought of kingdom like wars and felt like the characters would lose their pokemonness, or whatever you want to say. You made my mind explode with muse. I may actually have something to set a thread up for now.
