@Rosie: Eeeerrrr, tough to describe... Have you ever seen dragon wings, with a little hook of a thumb-like protrusion at the end? The very end of the flesh portion of the wing, where the feathers spread out? Something like there. It wouldn't be as useful as human arms, as the way wings can move would be somewhat limited, but yeah.

I just want a tail hand. Prehensile tail, with a three fingered hand at the end, all opposable digits. That might be even more useful than normal arms.
INSANELY BUSY!
I am moving! For the next month or so, I am going to be so very busy.
If I'm on here, it's because I'm unwinding with writing or pets or whatever.
Please do not add to my stress, if you can. Your support is appreciated.

The vertical one provides less wind-resistance, even if it's hard to hold yourself in that position... And Thorry is right, arms would be very handy for balancing and moving, as would legs. They could form much the same function as a bird's tail, I think. But I'm not an anthroavianbiologist. ;) It is an interesting problem!

@Rosie, you might try putting a hand like thing on the wing itself? Or give your characters a prehensile tail-thing.

Speed clearly wouldn't be plausible in such a position, but if the flight is at high enough speed then I suppose legs and other extremities would be supported by the wind-resistence itself. Ooh, I think this debate could benefit from some skydiving research.

About the hand-wing argument: my flying fox character still hand an opposable thumb, even though his arms and hands were turned into wings. Hence, the bat wing.

Yay! But I've got no plot ideas, though.

hmm.....how about it is a nightmare before Christmas rp, but the plot is different. So there is still Sally and Jack, but say, something is happening to Halloween town, something bad that is causing them to almost stop Halloween or something crazy.

Yeah, that sounds awesome! There could be canons and OCs involved.

Oh, that'd be awesome! And it would also be pretty interesting because at least one of the trio would probably be completely torn between loyalties. And Jack and Sally could already be married, perhaps? Or not?

How about Jack and Sally are engaged, and then the marriage gets torn apart or something, then it leads up to the Halloween town disaster.
