Alright all, since we're on topic of Kovu, let's talk about him.

Thoughts? Feelings? Would he still go through with the plan if it hadn't been for Kiara? Thoughts so scar symbolism?

I think he would've gone through with it, personally. He'd been training for it his whole life and everything and just... yeah. I believe he'd gone through with it if it hadn't been for Kiara.

I do, too. I read a fanfic one time where Kovu was just faking being in love with Kiara and he and Vitani attacked and killed Simba. 0_0

I don't know about Kovu. He isn't really my favorite of characters (him as a cub was fun.) I love his voice actor, and Kovu's design is cool and everything. But he just feels cliche... I like him as a character, but he's just too cliche for my taste. He's evil and he falls in love with the good side and changes his ways. And he's attractive. Perhaps if he looked more like Nuka, he wouldn't be so cliche. His song is pretty awesome, and that helps.

And what annoys me is when people still say Kovu is related to Kiara. He isn't. The movie made it clear (about every five minutes upon meeting Kovu until Nuka's death) that he wasn't related to Scar and was merely "hand-chosen to follow in his paw-steps".

Also, I feel Nuka's death (my favorite character. </3) was just to symbolize Kovu turning into Scar. He betrayed his family (Taka betrayed Ahadi, Uru, and Muffy), earned his scar for betraying his family (Taka and the buffalo), and "killed his own brother". The first two probably weren't intentional, since they ignored the books, but I'm just a fan ranting about the concept in general. Most likely he was killed off to suit Tybault from Romeo and Juliet, which the film was clearly based upon.

Yes, exactly! ( Nuka's symbolized death) Exactly my thoughts! And Zira's line, "You've killed your own brother." was an obvious call back to the original's "You wouldn't kill your own {uncle}." And I also found the song "He Lives In You" to fit Scar and Kovu's relationship as well. But, yes, I agree that Nuka's death was there to serve the purpose of Kovu turning into another Scar. Now whether this was the sole purpose or not, I don't know, as Disney. :3

I'd believe it. I wouldn't be surprised if people shipped him with Simba personally. People ship other people and characters with practically everyone and everything. xD
