OK so her dad just sent them a giant check for like 100,000 dollars
the mom felt bad
so she put 3,000 dollars in an envelope
and gave it to rose to give to brock)

Brock hesitantly took the envelope and slowly opened it up. His eyes widened as soon as he took out the check for $3,000. He'd never seen so much money at once. He stumbled sideways, the wall catching him. "How did you...?" Brock looked up at her, his jaw hanging open slightly

"Oh wait, I did know about that. My dad sent us a huge check and my mom was going to give you 300 dollars. I told her to do 3,000, we have too much anyway. She said OK, so here you are. You're welcome. Oh, and let me close that for you." I walked up to him and pushed up on his jaw with my hand.
