Mallowshade nodded. "That's understandable. I'm sure Cinderpaw still likes spending time with you though. She just gets a little too excited sometimes and dashes off without thinking." She flicked her tail toward the entrance of the den. "I think Graypaw, Firepaw, Cinderpaw, and Bluepaw are all training right now. But maybe when they're finished, you could go and chat with them for a while?"

"Well, good thing I have short fur then!" Cinderpaw purred, then let out a squeak of surprise when Specklepelt pinned her to the ground all of a sudden. She knew instantly what to do though. She scarfed Specklepelt's neck with her paws and heaved herself up and over, landing behind her with a thud. Normally she would have bounced right off and leaped onto her mentor's back, but this time she wanted to try something different. She took her mentor's tail firmly between her teeth and yanked hard on it, attempting to unbalance the she-cat without hurting her.
