I agree and disagree.

The first time I got the message I was a little stressed about it. It didnt help that I had just become a non-COPPA user and had years worth of those messages piled up in my inbox that I had oly been able to see then. I found it a little depressing, especially since over all my COPPA years I didn't know that trading pound pets was "frowned upon", or that I got that message.
In fact, I have collected very many pound pets over the years. I keep them with my normal pet groups, I don't separate them out into a specific group. They go with their species.
I don't have any way of keeping them separate unless I start a pound pets group now. But that still wouldn't work because I have been on CS for a while now, and I don't feel like sorting through all of my THOUSANDS of pets to find out if they are from the pound or not.
I would have maybe made a pound group when I first joined if I was we'll educated on the subject of pound pets, but as I said I was a COPPA. I didn't read messages on the forums and collected pets without really knowing much about them because nobody could tell me.
I feel very guilty when I don't realize a pet is from the pound when I get the message.

But I think the message still has a purpose too, and I don't feel like shooting it down completely.
My solution would be adding some kind of warning to your pound pets. Maybe have some little red label on them while they are in your groups. Or better yet, have a label on them in your trades. That way you know what pets are pound pets so you might not trade them unknowingly. Trade partners should also be able to see this warning so that they know the person might trade these pets harder.

On another note with pound pets and being traded away, I have noticed a lack in education on the pound and its pets. As many have noted, their used to be a small paragraph on the pound page that explained how pound pets usually come from banned members etc., but I cannot recall when it was removed. I think it should possibly be added back if the whole "trading pound pets is bad" thing is still true. And maybe you should advertise this whole thing more. I didn't know trading pound pets was considered "bad" until years after I had been trading them, when I dropped my COPPA.
Another thing that should be more spoken about pound pets is their rarities. I'm pretty sure a rare pound grab would be maybe even more rare than the first release of it. But alas, I have had people sending me trades for my rare 2010 pound grabs asking for low prices "since they were from the pound".

Hope my opinion helps!

You don't have to. Just search your trade for user "Pound" and you will get direct links to each pound pet you've ever owned.

Indeed, this shows me my pound pets.
But I have five pages of trades with the pound, 20 trades per page. I don't want to look through 120 previous trades with the pound in order to make sure that every time I send a trade, none of the pets in it are from the pound.
It would be even more hard in large quantity trades. Say someone gets a trade with 45 pets in each side, and they really don't like the message they will get if they send it. It's not likely that someone will avoid it with all costs, but it could happen. Especially with younger people or anyone with any mental disabilities that could make this message cause stress.
That person is not going to want to look through 120 trades with the pound 45 times to make sure that none of their pets they want to trade are from the pound.
That's what I was trying to say in my first post.
This example was just that, an example. But it very well could happen and does express many people's dislike for the message. I was trying to show my reasoning behind not wanting to look through every pet or every pound trade I have ever made. If you have noted, I joined in 2011. That's a long time of pound pets that I really don't feel like sorting though every day.

@megarin- Just because a pet is from the pound does not lower OR raise its value. A first release is probably more in demand than a pound catch rerelease. No where have I ever heard of people trading differently towards pound pets, so if people are low balling you "because it is from the pound", then they are trying to rip you off. At the same time, someone asking for more "because it is from the pound" is also sort of unfair. When it is traded again, the "Given to [username] by: Pound" changes to the user who got it and traded it away, so as far as a lot of people know- it never even went through the pound. It changes nothing.

Yes, but I am less likely to trade away my rare 2010 pound pet than a rare event pet from 2013. The rarity doesn't go up, but rare pound grabs are harder to come by today. My rare pound grabs mean more to me. I never said it would actually change the value.

Also I read a few pages back and I support the idea of maybe making the message you receive when you trade a pound pet a tiny bit less harsh. I like the idea of it being happy but having a tiny small sad ring on it. That way the person who traded the pet could still receive some sad thought, but will not feel like they just like, abandoned some helpless animal.

If it's that important to you, you only have to do it once. Not forty-five times.
If it's important to you, mark the pets in some way (I label all mine as (Pound!)) as soon as you get them from the pound. Whenever you have time, go over your past trades and see if there are any left to mark. You don't have to sort anything "every day" if you mark them as you get them.
If it's not important to you, then don't mark them.

I also think this feature should be removed.
In chicken smoothie, we don't feed/care for our pets unlike most pets sites.
We have so many pets each it would be impossible.
Trading is a massive part of the game and the idea is to trade your pets.
So this message doesn't even really have a place in the game considering we don't interact with our pets.
Getting a guilt tripping message is honestly sort of odd for the nature of how cs pets work.
And it's kind of spammy and cruel to sensitive younger users.

I agree, I just got my first message like this. It made me sad for like, a minute, but then I realized... that it's just a pixelated image, not a real pet. I know that a lot of the younger users will feel "guilted" out of the trade because of that message. So yeah, I feel like they should remove the message, or reword it. Also, I didn't know that trading pound pets was frowned upon o.e

      support!
considering a lot of people on this site are young, seeing a message saying their pet was almost going to be put to sleep can be very frightening to younger players.

I agree, because honestly, I often forget which pets I've gotten from the pound.
